...you were in the second trimester and spotting? I thought I'd been having brown-tinged CM for a few days but ignored it and a little while ago I realized that I'm definitely spotting because it's starting to look more like AF. The only thing I can think of is that we did it 3 days ago, but would it be normal to have spotting that gets worse for days? Or should I just call, given my m/c history?

I would call. It's probably nothing, but I pretty much always call. I spotted in my second tri, too, and I needed to be talked down.

Definitely call. Any spotting after the first tri warrants a call. It's probably nothing but they will likely want to see you. I spotted throughout my pregnancy and pretty much every time they did an ultrasound. The one time I had spotting that lasted for a while it was caused by a really bad UTI (I had no other symptoms) and the UTI was also causing me to contract (without knowing it). So definitely call.

@LovelyPlum: The office is closed for the day (who closes at 4?!)...do I just call tomorrow morning or be the crazy lady who considers this an emergency?

@spaniellove: Call the on call doc. Please, for me. Seriously I really doubt it's anything serious but I want you to have a doctor make that call.

I would call back and talk to the 24 hr answering service. They'll page the doctor to call you back. Doctors are on-call for things like this! Not to be alarming, but it's just good that they have a heads up with any concerns you may have. Hope it's nothing!!

@spaniellove: One of my friends had post DTD spotting in her late 2nd tri and was put on pelvic rest. Her hubby although a little sad was fine with it!!
FWIW I'm not on pelvic rest at all and poor DH rarely gets any right now! hahahah!

Definitely call. I had spotting in the second trimester from two infections. It freaked me out for being the second trimester. After being diagnosed with the infections, I started consuming kefir to keep infections away the rest of my pregnancy.

Glad you called, that's always the first question they ask at my appointments through the second tri- "any spotting?" Hope you and the little pup are both just fine!

@spaniellove: It's not crazy! I think everyone is so worried to go in and feel stupid when they say it's nothing, but the alternative is so much worse. I'd say call and if they say to go in (which I imagine they will) then go... (ETA: I see that you did call...)

The OB called back and said to call the office first thing in the morning if I'm still spotting tomorrow so I can come in for an u/s. If it continues, they'll try to get me in to see the MFM earlier than my appointment next Monday so they can check my cervix and placenta.
Now I'm so glad I went through all that drama earlier with switching practices because I have a doctor who knows me and will call me when he's out with his family instead of the giant anonymous practice I was with before!

I had spotting (bright red) at 17 weeks on a Friday evening. With a history of mc I talked to the on call dr & went into OB triage to get checked out. Turned out they couldn't find any reason for it, but I did get an ultrasound the following monday & found out the gender! Better safe than sorry, I'm sure everything is ok!

MY SIL spotted a lot during pregnancy. Sometimes she thought she was getting af. Went to emergency room twice. But my nephew is a very healthy 20m old now!
