I went through third trimester in Summer in Florida. It was pretty hot but I was working full time.

Summer! But only because the summers here aren't so hot! A winter baby would be 1000000x harder - it's either too cold, slippery or too snowy to walk. Plus it's gloomy and gets dark at around 3 pm (even earlier the closer it is to Christmas)! I can't imagine cabin fever while in the 3rd tri! That would be way, way tough!

I think it depends when the cool weather will be. I was saying yesterday, even though the pregnancy would be miserable, having a baby in August would be great because by September, the weather is great and you can go for walks in 70 degree temps instead of 100 degree temps!

Winter. I had lo in summer in fl and it sucked. I was glad I didn't have to worry about pulling tights and boots on in the winter..... but I think id still be warm with my pregnant belly because Florida winters aren't that bad.

I'd rather be pregnant in the summer. I hate being cold and just hate winter in general. Driving in the winter in NY sucks, especially with my hour commute each way to work. When I was pregnant with DS I had to drive home from work in a snowstorm and it was awful. The main roads were covered in heavy snow and slush and I had a greyhound bus tailgating me the entire way. He was so close to me and the roads were so bad that I didn't even feel like I could safely pull over for him to pass. And he nearly sent me off the road when he finally passed me. By the time I got home I was so tense and anxious I was sobbing. And I got SO SICK of my in-laws constantly and repeatedly telling me not to fall or slip on the ice.
DS was born in the end of March, which was pretty great. By the time he was born it was getting warmer and we were able to get out for walks and some easy hiking frequently. And most of the snow and ice was gone by the time I was full term and feeling especially uncoordinated.

I'm due in August and am really worried about the Texas heat, so it's reassuring to hear so many people say they'd prefer summer! I think the winter in Texas would be nice because it pretty much never snows in Houston, and even when it's cold it's not THAT cold. But it would be a pain (and expensive!) to have to buy new sweaters and jackets big enough to fit over a third trimester belly. Plus, I am looking forward to being on maternity leave in the fall because the weather is usually really nice then!

@Mrs. Blue: Thank you! It's still super early so of course I freak at every little twinge, but I am trying to be optimistic. Hope you and babies are doing well

@Alivoo01: Haha! Luckily DH is always hot so hopefully he won't mind that our house will be an igloo come June.

winter all the way! i'm really bad with heat and humidity. that being said, i can see the advantages of being in your third trimester during summer where it's so easy to throw on flip flops and sundresses!

I'm not pregnant and haven't been, but based on where we live winter would not be ideal. The hospital is about 40 minutes away, and if it snows (happens a lot) that road to get there closes (happens a lot!). DHs friends wife was due and it was bad weather, so they had to stay near the hospital in a hotel for a few days while the storm passed. She didn't end up going into labour, but they had to be on the safe side!

If I'm lucky, I'll be due in August so I'm going with summer! I used to say I preferred winter, but the more I think about it I think maternity leave would be much nicer in the fall and I'd worry about a huge snowstorm.

Winter, for sure! Or fall. I hate being hot, and I would hate even more to be extremely pregnant and hot at the same time

Winter! I'm due Jan. 25 and I'm glad.

Our summers get really hot and humid. My sister in law delivered Aug 8 and was absolutely miserable.

Also, we go to the beach almost every weekend in the summer and I think i would be really uncomfortable being huge there. Plus right now i have to pee every 10 minutes and I hate getting into the ocean unless I have to.

@Pink Champagne: Ugh, what kind of medieval torture chamber do you work at! Though I will say that I have a pair of maternity tights and they are surprisingly comfortable. But I don't have to wear them every day. And I waddle around in shorts and tank tops at home now even though it's December!

@Alivoo01: I'm usually freezing but I've been an OVEN since I've been pregnant.

Winter for sure. I live in Canada and LO was due in March, during my last few weeks at work in February, I was wearing a summer weight dress with tights and a cardigan. I usually ditched the cardi by 11am every day just to stay cool.

Winter. I live in Florida and I would hate to be in my 3rd trimester in the middle of the summer here.

Winter! I was so excited because DD was due in January so I would have less chance of being miserable in the hot (100+ degrees) and humid weather... only to have the most mild winter we've ever had in TX. Maybe next time...

Summer! At least I know what it's like. I am terrified of Canadian winters - they can be so bad and I would be paranoid about going into labour during a snowstorm.
