    Wow it's been awhile since I've been on here and I missed a lot! Congrats to everyone! I'm happily 12 weeks pregnant now and due April 13th. I've been so busy with work and my master's program I probably won't be on here much anymore, but wanted to check in!

    @bubblegum: I saw your update and your other thread. So glad it looks like its common. Fingers crossed its just a fluke in your case and everything is just fine

    @mrsmacSLP: Cute! I can't wait to be out the world too. This bump is so obvious so there's no real hiding it.

    @PeaceLily: Glad to hear everything's going well

    @bubblegum: just commented on your other post. Thinking of you! I hope everything is okay - this is why dopplers scare me!! xoxoxo.

    @psw27: Thank you! Yes I would never buy one and try this on my own. If a licensed doctor can't find a heartbeat then I for sure can't. I'm stilling waiting to hear back. I'm giving them until 12. I'm going to call them and if they can't get me in I'm going to the ER

    @bubblegum: its sort of crazy to me that they can't just have you pop in real quick to do a quick US with a midwife or nurse practitioner! ugh! I hope they can fit you in!

    @psw27: That's what's blowing my mind! I have to go through the hospital because of my insurance and I get that but you have techs there and tons of ultrasound machines. Why can't you just squeeze me in.

    Home doppler came today - took us all of 2 minutes to crack open the box and start looking. DH found the heartbeat in about 30 sec. 152 beats per minute!

    So yesterday afternoon DH, DD,and I hit a deer that popped out of no where. Ugh. We didn't even have a chance to slam on our brakes, and I don't think my seatbelt even locked. We pretty much just pulled over and stopped normally. I wasn't going to call my Dr, but my sis in law (who goes to the same Dr) got into the smallest of fender benders when she was 26 weeks and they had her do an ultrasound. She was really surprised that they had her do that, so I guess I'm calling today to see what they want me to do. Ugh.

    As an aside, the deer was still alive and we had to call the sheriff to put her down. It was awful. I'm more traumatized by that than anything else. And it was our wedding anniversary yesterday. Ugh. Not a great day.

    @abbydabbydoodlebug: That is awful! I am so afraid of deer because of how they can pop out like that. I'm glad you are all ok. The doctor might want you to get checked out as a precaution. I would probably call, I always feel better checking just in case.

    @abbydabbydoodlebug: Oh no, that's terrible. I'm glad you are all okay though.

    I'm pretty sure I've gone crazy over here - I think I might have felt movement last night! I mean, 11 weeks is way too early so it probably was just in my head, but I can't help feeling a little excited anyway

    @mrsmacSLP: Thank you

    How's was everyone's weekend? Any great news updates?

  27. psw27

    pomelo / 5220 posts

    @abbydabbydoodlebug: I'm so sorry that happened - how traumatizing! Deer really do come out of anywhere! If it makes you feel any better, the fact that you didn't slam your breaks on made the hit a lot safer cause it kept the deer from hitting the windshield! I would definitely just see the doctor as a precaution.

    @bubblegum: hanging in there. I feel like the cloud is lifting a little bit - a little more energy, a little less frequent nausea... but then I will jinx myself and have a terrible day today! How is everyone else feeling?

  29. bubblegum

    pear / 1717 posts

    @psw27: Oh no I hope you don't jinx yourself and that it continues!

    Called the nurse line at my Dr and she said since I'm pretty early and I'm not having any pain or spotting, that I'm probably fine. She's going to send along a note to the Drs, since mine is out of town. So they'll call me if they want me to come in.

    @bubblegum: well the other day I told the doctor I was feeling a little better and threw up the minute I got home. So... it is what it is. I don't even get upset now, especially since I feel like there is light at the end of the tunnel.... come on 2nd trimester!

    @mrsmacSLP: Super cute announcement!!

    @bubblegum: Just saw your whole saga on the other thread - SO glad everything is ok!!

    @abbydabbydoodlebug: Omg, that's so scary and sad! So glad you guys are all ok though!

    @JennyPenny: Weirdly, I could have sworn I felt movement the other day too!

    @bubblegum: I had my DNA blood test on friday - they said it will take about a week, though I remember it took almost two with DS2. DH and I are unsure that we are going to share the gender with the world though! We are getting SO MANY comments about the gender, and it's getting really old already lol

    @psw27: Aww well you're almost there!
    @ValentineMommy: Ohh that's exciting!! I totally know what you mean. It's like everyone assumes since you have one sex you'll for sure have the other!

    @abbydabbydoodlebug: I'm glad you're ok! Deer run-ins are so scary.

    @JennyPenny: Movement @ 11 weeks sounds great! No weeks of wondering what's going on in there!!

    So my update... I had my 1st trimester screen results back early last week and they showed an increased risk for down syndrome for my age (1 in 100) so we met with a genetic counselor and ending up taking the Harmony test - got the results today, low risk for all 3 trisomies (1 in 10,000) - and it's a BOY!

    In the meantime I did so much research on down syndrome and we would have loved our child regardless but I was worried about the lack of services for special needs children in our area. The stress of the positive screen was bad but it really got me thinking about some of this stuff, it was eye opening I guess.

    @JennyPenny: @ValentineMommy: I could have sworn I felt movement a few times too... but I just was like okay crazy, you're 10w..

    Also, I'm so jealous of those of you finding out gender soon! I am waiting til November 30th for my anatomy scan!

    @Cordie: Woohoo! Congrats on baby boy! I'm glad that the genetic testing worked out for you, but I know what you mean about it making you have a deep conversation/think about the realities! Our public schools are so bad here, it would take a lot of advocating to get what we would need!

    @Cordie: Woohoo a boy! Congratulations! And what a relief to have the results come back low with the 2nd tests

  39. ValentineMommy

    pomelo / 5791 posts

    @bubblegum: Yes!!! We keep getting a lot of it, and I just want to actually enjoy my pregnancy and not worry/think about what everyone has to say about the gender!

    @Cordie: Congrats!!! Boys are great

    @ValentineMommy: I completely understand. It's a little annoying when asked if we want a girl since we already have a boy. We honestly could careless as long as the baby is healthy. If it's a boy, DS will have a built in best friend and if it's a girl, we're ready for the new experience.
