@MrsADS: The insomnia is terrible! I can't sleep more than an hour or two at a time- as soon as I get comfortable, a contraction wakes me up.

@MrsStar: that would have pissed me off so much!! How inconsiderate! Hope you all stay healthy.
@Mrs.ADS: I had bad third trimester insomnia with my first. This time hasn't been so bad although I've definitely started waking up early the past several days (5:30-6). Hang in there!
@Mrs.Scientist: ahhh! Good luck. Keep us posted!

@MrsADS: @aprild: my job is very flexible so I can stop working pretty much whenever I feel like it, I just don't know what to do! I don't want to regret having too much time off by myself, especially if she is late. My due date is Tuesday 8/11, so I'm kind of thinking next Friday should be my last day instead of just waiting til I go into labor.

@Mrs.Scientist: good luck!! Hoping those contractions start up quickly for you!

@MrsADS: Ugh, the insomnia is awful. Once I'm asleep, I'm usually good, but it takes me foreverrrr to fall asleep. Last night, I was in bed by 11 and the last time I checked the time, it was after 1:30. And that's every. single. night. Everyone tells you to sleep now before baby comes, but I slept so much better with a newborn than I did the last month of pregnancy!
@Mrs.Scientist: Eeeek, good luck!!!

@mrs.ads: bad insomnia here too! I was up this morning at 4am reading HB and eating cereal. Happens most nights that I wake up at 4 to pee and can't go back to sleep. And then *sometimes* I wake up at 4am starving Does this happen to anyone? Any recommendations of what to eat before you go to sleep so this doesn't happen?

My hours of contractions petered out around 11pm. @mrsads: I have no idea how you've been doing this for MONTHS.
But, it has spurred me into getting my birth center bag packed! I'm headed to the gym this morning. At 39 weeks I feel ready to give up on my organized workout. I'll probably just do some squats, lunges, pelvic floor and core and then spend some time on my exercise ball.

@lilteacherbee glad to hear you slept better with a NB! I can sometimes fall asleep ok, but then I'm up like every hour or even more often it seems like to pee, with contractions, etc. and then when I wake up I can't go back to sleep. It's so miserable.
@Laurabear this happens to me too. Sometimes I wake up starving or sometimes I'm just awake for 2 hours but eating a snack does seem to help me get back to sleep (sometimes!). I usually just have a bowl of cereal. I figure even if I'm eating something really filling right before bed (which ugh, heartburn), that's probably not going to help with the 4am hunger because it's already been so many hours!
@Ohcaptain feel your pain. I hope we get to meet our babies soon! I'm so over it.
@Mrs. Microscope yay baby time!!!
nectarine / 2086 posts
@LauraBear: sometimes I also wake up starving and usually eat a banana!
@MrsADS: I wake up a ton to pee and change positions. I'm getting mega uncomfortable at night but thank god it still isn't preventing me from falling back asleep quickly.
I'm so excited for all of our babies!!

@MrsADS: nothing is comfortable! Sitting on the couch, in the rocker, on the floor, on my yoga ball, laying in bed, nothing! The next few days/weeks are going to be rough!

@Mrs.Scientist: Exciting! I hope your labor progresses quickly!
@buttermilk: That seems like a good stopping point. I think most of my friends who work stopped about a week before their due dates.

I'm not having a great day, unfortunately. Starting getting weird burps yesterday and then woke up at 2am with horrible stomach pain and some "gastrointestinal" symptoms. Just like two weeks ago but worse. Starting to think it wasn't a virus two weeks ago. Got in with my GP and they prescribed me zantac and I have to go later to get bloodwork and give a stool sample. They are thinking either some sort of GI infection or gallbladder issue, or perhaps just my GI tract reacting to HCG levels. Unforunately I'm in agony. I'm sure anyone who sees me thinks I'm in labor! NOPE, but labor was easier to handle (initially at least) for me than this Anyone have anything like this ever happen? I'm not sure what to think/expect?
pomelo / 5132 posts
@buttermilk: with my first, I worked up until my due date (I'm a teacher, so on my feet a lot too), but then he was 10 days late! I probably could have kept working, but mentally I was exhausted prepping each day as if it were my last!

Anyone else's hips/joints feeling super loose? I feel like I might fall over!
nectarine / 2086 posts
@Mrs. J: I feel a lot better now that Monday is over. I'm just gonna keep playing it by ear, which is no fun but we will see. Maybe baby will come early and solve all my problems! FX! My joints don't feel loose, just stiff and achy.
Anyone feeling pressure from the baby dropping? I'm 38 Wks tomorrow but haven't had that sensation yet. I wonder when it will happen.

It looks like I am staying in hospital for longer than I expected. The high risk Dr. says previas are too unpredictable and she wants to be safe since "next" bleeds can be catastrophic within minutes. They really want to baby to stay in for at least another week so my csection will prob be moved to sometime in my 36th week.
I know this is good for me and baby but I am a emotional wreck right now.

@autumnlove: it must be so hard, I can't even imagine! I'm so sorry you're going through this, but looks like you are in great hands. You and baby and your health come first so just try to make some peace with it and know you'll be meeting baby very soon! Hugs!

Ooh! I just got my Medela PISA delivered today. Woo!! I just went with the totally free one. Should I test it out today? Lol. I've been producing colostrum for a couple months!

@autumnlove: oh I'm so sorry! We are all thinking of you! I hope everything improves soon.

@buttermilk: @mrs.j: my joints definitely feel looser - I am trying to do a lot of stretching. I have tripped a couple times at home, though I blame part of that on our silly dog who likes to follow us around everywhere.
I have started to feel some pressure down below in the last few days. When I woke up this morning at 4 to grab a snack, it was kind of intense-like pressure, bearing down on my cervix. I'm only 35 weeks 3 days but I heard that the baby can drop and then still be floating somewhat this early? I have of course googled the heck out of it!

@autumnlove: I'm so sorry! I can't imagine. Are your girls able to visit? They should be able to cheer you up a bit. Hope you're able to keep them in until next week and your hospital stay is uneventful. Thinking of you

@Buttermilk @Laurabear I have sooo much pressure "down there" especially when I am walking/on my feet much at all! It is really uncomfortable/hurts! It has been like that for weeks for me though.
My PISA came in the mail a week ago and I took it out of the box but other than that I haven't done anything with it! I am kind of intimidated honestly! LOL. I guess I need to read the instruction manual to figure out how to put it together, do I need to wash stuff, etc. I have no clue!

@MrsADS: or watch a YouTube video! There's plenty
Do you ladies wake up sore like all over every morning? I can't figure out if my mattress suddenly sucks ass or if it's just me being pregnant.
cherry / 215 posts
@buttermilk: i do. part of me waking up at 4am is that my hips just really hurt at that point in the night. I wish I could sleep on my back!
pear / 1788 posts
@Mrs. J: my hips are so loose! Pelvis too!
@buttermilk: with my.loose pelvis is towns of pain! I've had it bad for the last week... Baby girls so wedged down in there! Sometimes when I pee I feel like she might fall out!
@autumnlove: hang in there mama!

@Mrs.Scientist: Ahh!! Here we go! Good luck!
@kjpugs: I'm so sorry you're feeling sick! I hope your doctors can figure it out and get you some relief!
@Mrs. J: My hips/symphysis pubis is sooooo sore. I fell a couple of weeks ago helping my DS on to a play structure and pulled something in my groin. It feels like the tendon or whatever that runs from the public bone out to the left hip and it hurts SO BAD. Stupid hormones that relax your muscles probably caused it to stretch wayyyy too far. Hoping it doesn't screw me over and cause extra pain if I do have a vaginal delivery!
@buttermilk: I would hang in there as long as possible to use more time with baby but allow a few days to relax before you deliver!
@autumnlove: I'm so sorry mama!! Not an easy thing to be dealing with having kiddos at home, especially given our emotionally fragile state will be keeping you in my thoughts!
Had my 39 week appointment today. Still nothing going on. Baby is head down and low enough but still room to come down more and not dilated, womp!! We took DS to the zoo today as possibly the last time as a fam of 3 and it was really fun. Hoping all the walking helped. I'm going to step in up in terms of walking, bouncing on my yoga ball and squatting to try and get things moving. DH said we can have sex every night to help.. lol. The sacrifices he makes are astounding!
Had a bit of a lack of movement scare this afternoon but after a snack and some pineapple juice, I was able to get her moving around. Must have been as tired as I am from our zoo visit!

@autumnlove: sending you good thoughts! I can't imagine how stressful this must be for you. Hang in there

I ended up being in so much pain I went to the hospital. Good news is no gallbladder etc type issues and Izzie was doing great. I threw up a lot on the ride there and ended up feeling better after that. Bad news is they basically couldn't say why it happened. So now I'm terrified of it happening again. Feeling 90% better now.

@autumnlove: I'm so sorry! Hope things go smoothly for you ...
@buttermilk: I wake up feeling much better in the mornings than I do at night. At night I'm cranky and irritable and just want to snuggle with my DH (who would rather snuggle with his PS4 controller!)
@kjpugs: I'm sorry you're going through that! I hope they figure out what's going on, soon ...
I went for a mani-pedi yesterday after my 39-week appointment. BIG MISTAKE. The manicure was fine, but sitting in the pedicure chair afterwards was pure torture. My lower back was killing me! It felt like (TMI) nonstop period-diarrhea pain for the last half of the pedicure. I was breathing heavy and sweating and trying to bear it until she was finished ... And then I had to go and smudge up both of my big toes so I had to sit through her fixing them. (Talk about first world problems ...) No more mani-pedis for me until after baby is evicted!
