@babybean404: congratulations and welcome from another NC bee! That's cool that you'll more info as part of that research study.
So I'm currently feeling like a crazy pregnant lady. I've had daily nausea since 7DPO. Yesterday and today - nothing! It's nice not to feel sick but it's got me worried that something is wrong. Sigh, I'll try and enjoy it...but I do have my fingers crossed that I'll start feeling sick again soon. Pregnancy is so silly

@kodybear: thanks!! Congrats to you as well. It's all a little overwhelming this time. We were NTNP but it took us 10 months of trying the first time so I wasn't expecting it to happen so fast! DS came 3 weeks early so we weren't as prepared the first time either. Packing my bag WAY early this time.

@JennyPenny: Your not crazy, its hard not to analyse every tiny thing, I thought my morning sickness had well and truly set in, for 2 days I was so sick, then woke up feeling fine one day, now for the last 3 days I have not had any sickness and feel like I have more energy, Im sure it won't last !!
@Aandmklover: Congrats ! Looking forward to getting to know you too
@babybean404: Yay, another due date twin !!
I have been away for a couple of days, strangely feeling fine after a few days of feeling terrible, however I have developed some dermatitis which another pregnancy symptom I usually get, very annoying. Hope your all as well as can be...
pear / 1616 posts
@Aandmklover: we have alot in common! DD came 2.5 weeks early so i'm definitely going to plan for an early august baby. i also didn't expect to get pregnant so fast this time around so i'll have 2 under 2 for a couple months! eeek!
so far i'm still feeling nothing. last time around i was spotting from weeks 5-8. now i feel like if i don't spot this time around, something might be wrong. but if i do spot, it'll freak me out again. haha can't win.
is anyone going to announce at christmas time? we might tell our families but will probably still wait till 12 weeks for everyone else. also, is anyone going to christmas parties where drinking is involved?? our company party is this friday and i'm not sure how to go about it. should i fake drink... say i'm not up for it... i dunno. i'm not a big drinker anyway so i don't think itd phase people if i didn't. i just feel like i'd get some raised eyebrows.

@Aandmklover: @Mrs.Someone: Congratulations and welcome!
@kodybear: We're planning on telling our families at Christmas time too. I want to get a fun present for my parents and in-laws to open, maybe a onesie that says "I my grandparents." DH likes the present idea, but not the onesie...so we're still looking for ideas.
I don't have any Christmas parties where drinking would be involved (yet, at least), but my parents are taking me to dinner next week to celebrate my graduation from grad school. I bet it'll be a fancy dinner at a restaurant and they know I love wine, so they'll be suspicious if I dont get anything. I'm debating between getting a glass and having DH secretly sip it, or just saying that I'm on antibiotics or something....

First post! While TTC I was always too scared to post to the POAS threads (or at all), but I'm inspired by @Mrs.Someone: being positive and joining.
DD: August 5, 2014 (I ovulate later than CD14, so I expect this to change come dating ultrasound time)
When Did You Find Out?: Nov 30th
Child Number: 1
Where You Live: Virginia
What kind of provider will you see?: obgyn
When's Your First Appointment?: December 26th. I really wanted it before Christmas so we could see heartbeat and share with family, but this is good too.
What kind of birth do you want?: Preferably med-free, but I will jump on the med train if the pain is unbearable.
What You're Most Excited For: Seeing the heartbeat for the first time! And telling my in-laws, as this is the first grandbaby on my husband's side.
What You're Most Scared About: M/C. I've had one documented, and one I've suspected, in the last 8 months. This is the first time I've had good beta levels, so trying to stay optimistic
Symptoms so far: Really tired at night, tender boobs/nipples, light cramps/pinches/pulls, and weird pinching in my armpits (I'm assuming boob related)

@kodybear: It was fine, nothing exciting. Thanks for asking
It was actually with my naturopath who has been helping me get pregnant for the last year or so. We had already gone over the "rules" last time I got pregnant, so this was more about what has been going on lately with me. I'm on an injection blood thinner, so I needed her help with what supplements to take, and for my first few weeks of pregnancy care.
She wasn't able to get blood to test my thyroid though, so I need to find a time to go today between other commitments!

@Michmarm: Where in Central Cal are you moving to? (feel free to not answer if you want to be more vague). I went to Cal Poly - SLO and love the area!
pear / 1616 posts
@Mrs.Someone: do you have to see her throughout the pregnancy as well, or is it more the first couple weeks? and
totally butting into your conversation but my husband went to cal poly slo! we dated throughout college so i was there alot. i love the area. but i especially love splash and firestone. what i wouldn't give for a tri-tip sandwich right now..
pomelo / 5228 posts
@kodybear: I think I'll just see her as needed after the first few weeks. I guess it depends on how much support I get from the OB on the "natural" stuff.
Not butting in! I love Splash & Firestone too, yum Hoping to go visit next Spring since we have a wedding in SF and its been forever since I've been to SLO.

I am 6 weeks today, y'all, and I swear the nausea just got real. It is hard to remain thankful when the waves keep coming at me! I am trying not to carbo load but looking at meat makes me so queasy. Also dreading taking my prenatal all day!
I am thinking of getting some preggie pops to try. I did get B6 but I worry that swallowing another pill will do more harm than good!!!
pea / 10 posts
@Mrs.Someone: Hello and welcome, I know the feeling, it feels very nerve racking talking about it so soon, but this is easier than telling family just yet
@sharpie: Congrats and Welcome !
@babybean404: Oh the dreaded nausea, Im with you, although it it coming and going for me, it sneaks up on me real quick, but I definitely feel better when I eat. I nearly vomited when I was in the supermarket and I walked past the meat section, I just cant handle the smells atm. I have been having ginger lollies, they have worked well so far.
pomelo / 5228 posts
@babybean404: I got preggie pops a while ago, they definitely help! I also had some ginger candies at some point that help too.
@Avabear: Yes, it totally helps to have a place where I don't have to keep the secret

@Mrs.Someone welcome!!!
@Avabear and @Mrs.Someone where do you get ginger candy? Any brands in particular?
pomelo / 5228 posts
@BabyMats: @babybean404: Thanks!
The ginger candy I got was in S America, so unfortunately I can't pass on any info. I think there is one here called Gin Gins, haven't tried them though. So far I've just been using seabands this pregnancy, but I haven't had much nausea yet.

@kodybear: @Avabear: thanks!
Nearly all of my symptoms disappeared last night/this morning! Staying positive though, my mom said her nausea set in hard when all of her early symptoms disappeared around this time. Not that I'm hoping for nausea, more just glad to hear that she experienced the disappearing sore boobs and fatigue.

@kodybear: I know Christmas is still a little early for my liking to announce, but I think we'll at least tell our parents then. I'm not sure how to do it tho. Maybe put DS in a big brother shirt. Oh and I went to Cal Poly SLO too! OMG too funny that there are 3 us here tied to that school.
