DS turns 1 tomorrow! Can't believe it! We had his party Saturday and it went well. He wasn't too into the cake
but loved playing with the bows, wrapping paper and boxes! Then of course the toys once when got them out of the boxes. Tomorrow DH took the day off so we will take him to the children's museum, lunch and maybe some gelato!

Tomorrow! I'm so nice to her and scheduled her 12 month appointment on her birthday (they wouldn't let me do it sooner) so lots of shots followed by a 2 hour car ride! We sure know how to celebrate! Her party was this past Sunday, though. I'm pretty excited to say I have a 1 year old!

Here are a few pics of LO's first birthday party. Even though she was a little under the weather, she had a wonderful (one-derful? I can't stop
) time! We had about 25 friends and family at her "winter one-derland" soiree.

@fancyfunction: Ha, she did! It was the same recipe for red velvet I had at my first birthday. She's somewhat dainty, so it took a while and a lot of encouragement to get her to that stage

@hellocupcake: it sure is bittersweet! i look back on this past year and can't believe how far we've come (i felt like it was just yesterday that i was dealing with the crazy round the clock non-stop nursing sessions)
are any of you doing any birthday traditions?
we're incorporating some korean traditions in our LO's celebration and we finished DIY'ing the dol towers with beans. i started to get "messy" towards the end but from a far, you can't really notice it...lol -

I have to cook a bunch of stuff and bake the cakes (my first cake attempt!) I made a list of what needs to be done when so I hope to be organized. Finished all the decor, just have to set it all up!

@fancyfunction: we're baking the cake too!! i think we're going to do a couple test batches first and since his party isn't for a few weeks, we still have time to go buy a cake if our test batches fail...lol
i wanted to do a rainbow layer cake but DH shot that idea down (he doesn't mind the layer cake but he just doesn't want rainbow colors)

I can't believe we're almost to the one year mark! It's almost like a double celebration - her turning a year old and us surviving our first year of parenthood
We're having our party on the 21st at a library by our old house (going home for Christmas!). Still working on planning it, but it's going to be a fun library/children's books themed party
