@FaithFertility: any idea how long it will be? I'm more worried about her comment dropping than sleep!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Adira: so how does this dream feed work? I'm hesitant to start something only to have to stop it!

@winniebee: ohhh that too.....hopefully 3-5 days
We are a hot mess today......
No nap until 12 ...then shit show to nap in crib gave that up for swing and napped since 1:30 just got up????????

@KayKay: Oh man Whenever I think something is going to be a lifesaver, it usually fails.
@MamaG: ooh! yay for whatever is happening and I hope that it continues on your trip
@FaithFertility: Glad that you can get the mold taken care of but too bad that you have to leave!
@winniebee: so glad that R's sleep has been better!
@BandDmommy: This is what I'm always worried about! My kids have been overlapping their naps at least a little but I always keep J downstairs because I'm too scared they'll wake each other up. I hope B goes to sleep!
@Adira: Logan must have been so exhausted!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@KayKay: yuck! I can't even think of swaddle weaning yet!!!!

@mrsf: @winniebee: it worked all day for naps again today. I may have to try again. But a failed nap is no big deal compared to failed night sleep.

No nap for B but he did stay in his room and quietly "read books" the rest of nap time.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@BandDmommy: that's good. I make Tyler do quiet time very day even though he does not nap.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@winniebee: Dreamfeeds differ depending on the baby. With Xander, he always fully woke up when I did a "dreamfeed" but he would fall back asleep nursing and I'd just put him back to bed. With Logan, I think maybe he actually stays asleep - he doesn't open his eyes and it takes a little coaxing to get him to latch, but then he'll nurse and keep sleeping and I can put him back to bed after.
With Xander, I was REALLY scared to wean off the dreamfeed. I was afraid he'd start waking up in the middle of the night. But he didn't! He just slept straight through! I stopped the dreamfeed at 8 months, but probably could've stopped earlier.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
Another early wake up because of this damn cold. At least this time was at 4:00 instead of 3:30, so we're doing better!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@Adira: sorry
Up every few hours overnight and never went back down after eating at 430. Ugh. I tried really hard to get him back down but it looks like we're up for the day. *yawn*
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MrsF: Ugh, your night sounds so much rougher than mine! I'm sorry!!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@Adira: he's usually a really good sleeper so it's sort of startling when we have a bad night!
pear / 1961 posts
@mrsf: brutal!
@banddmommy: quiet time is a lifesaver. K only naps probably 2-3x a week now, but we do quiet time everyday no matter what. somedays it's less quiet than others

Baby sttn.....me....lol Ohhh no transformer blew no power FPL. trucks to fix it at 12 ...big bang, dogs barking, me sushhhing then for 2hrs looking for flashlights and DH at work
you can't make this stuff up........ .
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@FaithFertility: OMG!!!!!! Bad bad bad!
@MrsF: Are you in regression land?
@Adira: I know you get up for the day at 4:30 so at least this was better!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
Ryan is SO CLOSE to STTN. Last night he did 815-445. Come on kiddo just 15 more minutes and I would write that in the baby book! Just in time for the 4m regression.....
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@FaithFertility: Gahhh, that's terrible!!!
@winniebee: Yes, so true! Only 30 minutes earlier than my normal wakeup! Really hoping Ryan starts STTN for you real soon and that you don't have to deal with the regression!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@FaithFertility: Yep!
I think I'm getting Logan's cold... I feel stuffed up.
eggplant / 11861 posts
She has not napped and has been up since 6:30 she is getting hungry and I know she will nurse and fall asleep I don't want her getting used to that....
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@FaithFertility: Just do it! I do whatever it takes to get Ryan to fall asleep and stay asleep at this point. There are many months ahead to sleep train....I just don't feel that before 4m is the time to worry about it!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@winniebee: thanks......it is hard as a new mom to know what to do at times.....
I have to admit if it were up to me I would lay in bed and play/nurse her all day
pear / 1961 posts
@winniebee: that's great! go R!!
E's sleep was good last night -- 7p to 230a, then up for the day at 630a. It seems silly to complain about that, but when she was consistently doing 7+ hours....plus a couple 9, 10, 11 hour nights here and there...I just want that back! I think she was just a really sleepy baby and finally woke up at 3 months.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@FaithFertility: Admittedly Logan's in daycare during the week, so I'm not as worried about forming nursing-to-sleep habits, but I tend to just do whatever works. Sometimes he can fall asleep on his own and other times he needs to be nursed to sleep. I figure since he can do it some of the time, it's hopefully not forming bad habits that we nurse to sleep other times.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@Adira: I agree......I think I need to stop worrying so much about "habits"
eggplant / 11861 posts
@KayKay: I agree.....it is hard when they sttn or do 9+hrs....constantly then do 6 or so....
honeydew / 7283 posts
@FaithFertility: oh that's horrible!
@winniebee: I'm optimistic that it was just a bad night, but I fear the regression asi glad that R is doing so much better! 15 more minutes little man!
@FaithFertility: I agree. As long as he usually puts himself to sleep I son worry about sometimes nursing to sleep if that's how the timing works out.
@KayKay: it's so hard to get used to good sleep and then go backwards. We're right there with you!
pomelo / 5298 posts
Sleep takes priority in our house, whatever it takes to get K to sleep will be done. We did the same with C. Sure we made some bad habits and had to undo them, but I'm okay with that.
Someday soon I will need to make my sleep a priority, because it's seriously lacking this week!
pomegranate / 3045 posts
Omg haha I need to stop checking this thread - everyone is getting such good sleep!! I think we had a few weeks of 4-5 hr stretches at the end of feb/beg of march, but now I'm lucky if I get a 3 hr stretch each night. I got a 4 hr stretch last week and felt like I'd won the lottery He is usually up every 1-2.5 hrs. Yay.
He's also been spitting up a ton lately. Bah. Ready for that to be done with!
Thankfully, we are finally getting some nicer weather!
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@winniebee: ahh so close! ha hopefully he will add on those 15 mins tonight
@FaithFertility: Ahh that sucks. But yay for G STTN!
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@MrsF: bah I'm sorry. Those super early wake ups are no fun! Hope you had better sleep last night.

@theotherstark: I'm so sorry!!! What have you tried so far? Bottle before bed? Sleep suit? Move him to your bathroom?
eggplant / 11861 posts
@theotherstark: I am sorry!!! Hopefully like @winniebee the sleep God's will visit you soon!!!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@theotherstark: we're in the massive spit up club too. I'm constantly drenched!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@theotherstark: I'm right there with you yet; 4 hours max then up every 1 to 2 hours. Anymore I will just let him latch on in bed and we both fall asleep that way, back in the R&P an hour later, 1 hour sleep and repeat. Bad habits yes but I need as much sleep as I can get!
I've tried a couple times to put him to bed in the crib but I'm not ready for cry-it-out so after 15 minutes (of 5 minute intervals) I cave and rock/nurse him back to sleep and back in the R&P.
Same for spit-up too; he doesn't normally spit up much, but we've had a random couple days where he spits up a ton. Not sure why.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@theotherstark: Gahhh, so sorry to hear about your sleep!! Maybe time to sleep train....?
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
Oh yeah Ryan still has fountains of spit up on a daily basis. Hate it!
