@MamaG: Totally ok to vent! If anyone understands, it's us! And yes to me day! I'm getting half a me day since I get out of work early on the 23rd. But I'm spending most of it running errands! I really, really want to get my nails done too!

@snowjewelz: Me too, or crashes again between courthouse commute and dinner around 3:30 even if it is for 20-30mins

@MamaG: Hugs, Mama. I feel you. I'm very fortunate that I have every other Friday off (the other days are LONG though), so I get a me-day every other week, which definitely helps keep me sane (even though I spend them going to doctor's appointments, shopping, and cleaning the house).

@MamaG: yeah, i want a me day as well. every spare moment (other than work and taking care of kids) has been spent dealing with mortgage, closing, and now packing. i'm guessing january will just be a lot of unpacking. i'm hoping to get a ME day in at some point in 2016 : )

Boo to all these sick babies!
@Adira: Sorry the nursing strike is still going on.
@MamaG: A me day sounds awesome. DH never goes anywhere with M (he will usually watch him at home so I get me time), but I'd love to clean the house with no one at home.
Another good night with M sleeping 7pm - 7am in his own room

@mamag: i hear ya. i get M & Th mornings "alone" when both girls are at their various schools, but it's only 2.5hrs and usually I try to pack so much crap in (groceries, other errands/appts, dog walking in horrific weather, maaaaaaybe a workout) that I am still exhausted when I pick them up.
I have no idea what's up with E, but I need it to pass, stat. I'm leaning towards weaning during the holidays when family can help with night-wakings, and then going with earplugs/extinction if she is still waking MOTN after that. it's only 1x (rarely 2x) a night, but UGH. since she used to STTN, i'm just so over it.

@MamaG: A me day sounds amazing! I get a bit of time to do errands because we pay our sitter for a few extra hours other than what I am working. It's SO great to be able to take the dog to the vote, go grocery, shopping, etc by myself - but I really need time in my house with no kids! There are just piles of things everywhere because I can't get anything done here with the kids. Time by myself in my house would be wonderful.
and boo to fevers

@KayKay: That's so hard. I hope you guys have a big turn around in the sleep department!

@MamaG: Oh no to sick babies. She looks happy on IG though!
Me day - yes! Friday I took off work at 11 and left DS at daycare so I could get some Christmas shopping done... soo nice. Are you able to do something like that? (Way easier than trying to coordinate with DH). I have a bunch of time off over the holidays, but I might stick E in daycare for some of it so I can have 'alone' time.
@KayKay: Hopefully your E figures it out. Ethan has been on/off too with waking some nights, and some nights STTN. I was thinking last night at 2 I wish he were consistent, but that'd probably backfire and he'd be consistently up!
@AngelicOne: So jealous of the 12 hour stretches! We only get 8-9 tops!

@josina: I wish I could take time off! Unfortunately, since I had to leave at 10am this morning for K and have to leave early tomorrow for an ENT appt and really would love to leave early on Friday for C's Xmas party... and next week I'm off because of my parents coming in from out of state See, too much crap going on.
And I'm an accountant, so January - February suck for trying to get time off. Not to mention there's a good chance one of the kiddos will be sick again

@MamaG: I hear you! I'm tax CPA so I'm getting ready to be slammed with tax season and baby #3.

@BandDmommy: It's tough I feel for you, sincerely. Last year was hard when K was born and I went back in mid-January. Being busy will at least help with distracting you from pregnancy. I'm trying to find a positive here

@MamaG: You (and everyone here) completely deserve a "me" day! I hear you on wanting to just organize the house. We moved 2 months ago and a lot of the house is still in boxes. It drives me crazy! I hope you are able to get a day in before too long.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MrsScallop: did the move get you closer or further away from home serve?
persimmon / 1328 posts
@snowjewelz: We moved closer to the hospital Charlie was at (and where he has most of his appointments), but really no closer or farther from child serve. We are planning for him being home
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MrsScallop: I see! So after he is home it'd be closer to get to appts! I hope he will be home soon too

Driving back for my sisters ceremony and dinner! It was beautiful, so happy for them!
G is passed out
Tonight I put to bed my baby before she is 1 one last time!!!!!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@AngelicOne: that's great, he just apparently needed his own space to sleep all night!
@KayKay: sorry...I'm on the same path. After holidays and our move, it's extinction method. I can't have a 13 month old that doesn't sleep through the night. 13 months of sleep deprivation is making me a crazy bitch!
Both boys still in rough shape....at least T slept through last night. R was up from 1015-11 (after I had been asleep 45 mins) and then at 4....and up for the day at 6:30. OVER. IT.

@FaithFertility: Aaah! Happy birthday G!!
@MamaG: Not sounding too good for your me day. Hope you can find some time before tax season, and hope your babes are both healthy soon!
@MrsScallop: I hope Charlie gets HOME soon, and you find time to unpack those boxes!
E was up at 12 and 3:30 last night, ugh.
I'm definitely noticing I'm less full in the mornings, probably a combination of E nursing once/twice overnight and quiting pumping.
For those that quit pumping earlier, how long did you continue to nurse (and know they were getting something)? I def. think I'm going to have to at least offer one bottle before bed or in the morning.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@josina: I am super empty lately too. I've given R bottles of frozen milk every night this week after he nurses and is still wide awake and not wanting to go to sleep. I know they don't need the breastmilk / bottles any more but since he's sick, I'm just going with it. He nurses MOTN, sometimes morning, and before bed. I used to be really full at night, now definitely not.
pear / 1961 posts
@josina: towards the end of nursing (with both girls now), i was very rarely super full, but both girls still got what they wanted/needed. with K i was working & so pumping (and then not pumping), but i never had to do a bottle for the sessions i had kept. even with E now, i'm noticing i'm not even that full overnight no matter when she eats (earlier in the night, just earlier in the morning, whatever). so lack of fullness does not necessarily = lack of milk this late in your bf journey!
pear / 1961 posts
@winniebee: E was up for the day at 530, and i got her out of bed at 545 hoping that she wouldn't wake K up. Nope. Both girls up for the day before 6. Gah. E is now napping and K is watching a Clifford...and we still have 20 minutes before we leave for school!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@winniebee: Gahhhh sorry!
@josina: awww yeah I am never full, one reason I stopped the morning session is she would point to her sippy if she saw it and chug it so I figured she wasn't getting anything!
@KayKay: whoop early morning
pomelo / 5298 posts
K didn't have a fever when I last checked her at 10:30 last night. She slept well up to 6:00 this morning. She was crying and warm again (100.7). I just don't understand it. She's home with Dad today and we see the ENT this afternoon. She was whiney and clingy this morning but ate a good breakfast and drank a bunch of water.
I might be crazy, but she's not getting any milk right now. Last time she was feverish and I gave her milk. It all came back at me nicely curdled an hour or so later. YUCK!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@MamaG: eh, they really don't even need milk, so I don't blame you! just feed her some yogurt today or cheese. hope she's ok!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@MamaG: Hopefully the ENT has some insight if it's ear-related? That sucks.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@josina: With Xander, I stopped pumping shortly after 12 months and continued to nurse him until 14.5 months.

@faithfertility: hope you guys have a great day for G's birthday!
@mamag: i never give my kids milk if they are stomach sick (or i suspect they are). water or watered-down apple juice/ginger ale only! luckily it doesn't happen very often. but i have heard lots of stories similar to yours about revisiting the milk later
