@FaithFertility: lol. Awww. Seriously how can we say no to those cuddles?
persimmon / 1050 posts
@josina: Oh no! E's an escape artist! M sleeps in his PNP still. He stands at the end by his door and squeals so we'll come get him. LOL
@FaithFertility: Awww.
@Miss Ariel: @MamaG: Hope the class changes go well.

I think we've hit peak seperation anxiety. K still isn't really adjusted to her new class and now we have bedtime crying. Please let this phase pass us quickly.
Speaking of phases, C is in some sort of eating pickiness and refusal to eat stage too. And between the two I'm about to lose my mind.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@MamaG: awwww hope it passes fast!
G is in a crazy picky eating phase for the past 4 days ....seriously says no to everything and has survived on cheerios and pretzels this weekend
persimmon / 1050 posts
@MamaG: Hope it passes soon. M still tries to hide in DH's chest if someone talks to him (even if he sees them often).
@FaithFertility: Awww. Hope that doesn't stick around long. M would live on bananas all day if I let him.

I'm sorry I've been so bad at keeping up with you ladies. My best friend is getting married and I've been swamped with planning her shower and bachelorette party (and also working and two kids!!!!!).
Logan had his 18m well visit on Friday. Everything looks good. At this point, they expect him to have about 10 words, which he does. Stats:
Height: 2' 7.5"
Weight: 23 lbs 5 oz
Head: 47 cm
It was a good check-up and we don't go back until he's 2!!!

@Adira: awww great update! I am curious as to G's growth, I need to make that appointment soon!
So we have a 50% co sleeper
Weeks now of up at 2-4 and in our bed for the night!
So hard as I am too tired to fight and DH and I love it
Ughhhh this parenting business is tough!
She falls asleep perfectly at bedtime but wakes and well our bed it is.... lol
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: must be crazy for you! glad he had a good check up! crazy they go back less and less and less!
@FaithFertility: haha, do what works! I still have no clue how we'll get her out of our bed before the new baby comes. maybe we won't and somehow ALL of us will be on the bed! and you really can't beat the snuggles
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@MamaG: Oh no to separation anxiety, I think I'm there with you. Still bedtime crying and DH has to lay with him. Crying/pouting at daycare drop offs, and this morning crying just because I closed the bathroom door! Ugh. I hope it's a short phase for both of us. We're on week 3 I think.
@FaithFertility: SAME! E is in his now toddler bed (aahh!) until sometime between 12 and 4 and then he comes into bed with us. Hoping he just starts STTN again at some point!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@josina: Thankfully I got her to bed last night with no crying. We rocked for a few minutes, which is not part of our normal routine, but as long as it's just 2-3 minutes I can live with it.
And there was a really sour face this morning at drop off, but no screaming/crying. It's progress.
They learn so quickly. And part of what she learned in her transition to the new class last week is the more upset I am, the more attention I get. We are trying hard not to reinforce that concept at home. It probably seems mean, but I can't do it with two kids. They feed off the attention they each get and before I know it I'll have a screaming 4 year old too (well she does scream a lot )
pomelo / 5298 posts
@FaithFertility: @josina: I did read this weekend that there is a pretty bad 18 month sleep regression.
nectarine / 2210 posts
@josina: k doesn't really cry at drop offs or bedtime. But it's a tragedy if the bathroom door is shut and then she's screaming and crying and pounding on the door.
nectarine / 2210 posts
K was a little Matthew McConaughey this weekend. One of her newest words is alright, so all weekend long she'd randomly say "alright, alright, alright." Ha!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@Miss Ariel: lol to both of those. So much drama if the door is shut!
E was channeling Joey from Blossom this weekend with his 'woah's '
eggplant / 11861 posts
@MamaG: Something, that and I think are there 2 yr molars?! She has big bumps behind her top molars
@Miss Ariel: That is hilarious!!!!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@FaithFertility: Yes, two year molars. I haven't been on the look out for those yet as K is still trying to get her canines through. Those bumps are just not moving!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@MamaG: ughhh she still has canines half way through and the top molars are like 50% man no teeth for the longest and now she gets 4-6 at a time!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
Wait, isn't 2 yr molars waiting till 2 yrs to come out?! She got all her canines in already so I just haven't been paying attention thinking we have a while!
Of course I didn't even ask the dentist when we went this past weekend...... Which I was told I need to brush her teeth a little better! I guess I'm not always getting the top of her teeth where they meet her gums. #mommyoftheyear
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: Nope I'm pretty sure those are them!
Please brushing her teeth is a sh*t show
We say! I'm lucky to get 1-2 good swipes!

Ryan's super clingy right now too. Crying a lot at bed time, which is totally out of character. Yesterday he wanted to be held all day! He does have a cold, but I think it's separation anxiety as well. Obviously, we have a lot going on in our house, but I didn't expect him to be so affected by it.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@winniebee: Aww, I feel like kids are pretty sensitive/receptive to adult emotions. What about T? Is he acting different too? Maybe R just wants to be close to mama to comfort her
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@snowjewelz: He was a disaster for about a week. He's a really sensitive kid. Bathroom accidents (which never happen), clinging, waking at night. And after we got home from the hospital really mean and acting out. It's better now that the grandmas have gone home and we are back to a routine.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@winniebee: Aww man, I'm so sorry you have to deal with that on top of everything else. I hope they will both go back to being more "normal" now that you're back to a regular routine to give you a break!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@winniebee: Awww he might be wondering what the heck was going on, since that is not the norm!
Man, just saw about T too! Sorry!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@winniebee: It's hard to identify at this age what's driving the behavior! K moved up classes last week and I know that's part of it for her. But C never had transition issues at daycare. This is new territory for me. I'm just glad that she's my second because I'm more emotionally stable (ha!). Or at least I know that she's loved, cared for and she will get over it. I know that lingering won't change anything.
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@snowjewelz: Um. Yes. Horrible tooth brusher here too. E just basically chews on it... I'm lucky if I can get his front teeth brushed. .... And clipping nails? Forgetaboutit.
@winniebee: Awww, thats so hard that the kids are affected by it too, for them and you!! Lots of virtual hugs for you!!
At least a few of us are going through this separation anxiety/crappy sleep together! Always good to know we're not alone.
nectarine / 2210 posts
@winniebee: I'm sure with everything being out of sorts they're trying to take control back the only way they know how. Still it doesn't make things easier. Hopefully as thing calm down a little, the boys will as well.
pear / 1961 posts
@josina: that's funny about clipping nails. my girls literally fight over it. i can't do one of theirs without the other trying to climb on to me and insisting hers be cut too!
@winniebee: it may just be that he sees T's behavior changes and is reacting to them? i know E is SUPER attentive to whatever/however K is doing/acting. it's like constant monkey-see-monkey-do around here, mixed in with a lot of fake laughing and "sympathy" crying.
@snowjewelz: i'm impressed you've even gone to the dentist! my FIL is a dentist and said it's not really worth it until 2.5-3yo for their first cleaning, so that's what we've done.
eggplant / 11861 posts
Just had an awful drop off she was crying and screaming "No!" Awful!
We had a long weekend Fri-Mon, but I have a training today so no choice love!

@faithfertility: that's rough i'm sure she'll have a great day and be super excited to see you this afternoon!

so when we moved, we got a new king mattress that is (still) just on our floor without a bedframe. E's favorite thing to do is to faceplant onto it! preferred variations include the running-full-speed faceplant and the stand-on-the-laundry-basket-and-trust-fall faceplant. it's hilarious, and awesome entertainment for her while i shower and get ready every day. haha.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@KayKay: I figured since it's covered and she has a full set of teeth! There was no cleaning; just check up. I'm glad I went though b/c now I'm definitely conscious to clean her teeth better!
@FaithFertility: Aww! Got too used to being with mommy!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@KayKay: lol - I hope E changes his mind about getting his nails clipped at some point. Too funny about the girls!
Love the mattress shenanigans!
@FaithFertility: Aww, those suck! I'm sure she was fine soon after though! E cries when I pick him up too because he doesn't want to leave so I know he still loves it there!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@winniebee: I feel kids are pretty intuitive at this age... maybe he realizes something is wrong and just wants to be near you because of it? Add on separation anxiety, and it can't help. Sorry you're having a rough time of it, in addition to everything else.
@KayKay: Faceplants are awesome, didn't you know??
So Logan learned how to jump in his crib, haha. He can't jump and land on his feet, but he jumps and kicks his feet out and lands on his butt. It's soooooo funny and cute!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@KayKay: @snowjewelz: @josina: of course I called 10mins down the road and she was looking at the fish tank and feeding them happy as can be
Little stinker!!!!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: Of course! K always throws a fit when she doesn't have me, esp when she catches me going out the door to work but DH says she pretty much stops as soon as I close the door. They are great actors/actresses!
@Adira: Haha he must be having a ball in there! K likes to jump in bed too vs the hard floor! And by jump I mean fake-jump still.
pomelo / 5298 posts
@Adira: K is a serious jumper and she does it EVERYWHERE. Floor, couch, bed, pool... I can't believe how early she learned to jump and how much air she's getting.
Dentist: I had C at the dentist this morning and inquired when they'd like to see K. He said 18 months but I'm being dismissive I've decided that we have six months to ramp up our brushing and get a routine and I will take her in December when C goes again. We took C for the first time at 2.5 years.
Our transition is smoothing. Day #2 with no crying at drop off. And last night was night #2 with no crying at bedtime. She did cry when she woke this morning, but DH was in the shower and I was downstairs busy with C. By the time we could get to her she was sitting and playing in her bed, so she got left there a few minutes longer.
<<---- Mean Momma.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: Fake jumps totally count!
@MamaG: Real jumping is impressive at this age! Go K!
As for the Dentist - we have Logan's first dentist appointment scheduled, but it's not until November when he'll be almost 2. Good enough! I think our pediatrician just wants them to go by 3 (though our dentist says anytime after 1).
