Here's Jack:
New words/funny words: He's been running around pointing to his elbows and saying "eh bow" - it just cracks me up So much focus on those tiny little elbows.
New highs: He's doing so well in the speech department. Starting to say some 2 syllable words and even some 2 word "sentences" - today he said "more please" and "all done juice". He's certainly not advanced, but making great progress.
New Lows: Really cranky and clingy lately. "mama mama mama mama up up up!" I think it's his 2 year molars because he has already destroyed a hairbrush and a fork in the last 2 days with his voracious chewing!
Favorite foods: Any carbs, fruit, or meat with lots of sauce. NOT veggies.
Favorite activity: Throwing balls, Anything that involves interacting with his sister - jumping on M's bed, splashing with her in the tub.
Favorite Song: Any of the bedtime songs that I sing to him at night. He's always asking for more
Favorite T.V. show/character: Maybe Sesame St?

@winniebee: You deserve some good sleep after that first year! And water play is a big favorite around here too. Thank goodness for great weather this week. Glad to see that R is doing so well

So I just wanted to say that I really debated where to hang the wind chimes that you guys gifted us. The best spot was in a big shady tree in the front of our house. I was worried it would make me sad seeing them and hearing them so often. But every time I come home, it is so comforting to see them and hear them sing in the breeze. I really love them.

@winniebee: Aww, you are making me tear up. It's like Dylan's always hanging out there greeting you guys as you come and go

So when we snuggle for bed time, K will pet my boobs... I guess I told her a few times they're mommy's boobies... So last night she petted them and said boobies, lol. I was like umm... yes...

@winniebee: Thats so beautiful, I'm glad they bring comfort.
@MrsF: Awesome with his speech. What are some things they do with him to help? E is no where near phrases yet, although he's repeating us a lot more.
@snowjewelz: lol!
E's new favorite thing to do is "belly farts". Yesterday he woke me up by doing this to my back, lol. DH said he woke up, saw my shoulder/back and went right to it.

Has dinner time been hell for anyone else? Ryan just cries and shouts through dinner. He is over the high chair, doesn't want to be strapped into a booster...basically just wants to stand in a chair and whine. It is SO annoying.

@winniebee: It's so nice to hear that the chimes are bringing you some comfort

@winniebee: Ugh - between the preschooler pickiness and the toddler screaming and demanding everyone's food other than his own (even though it's usually the same) it's not much fun at our house either.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@MrsF: ugh yes. 4 year old eats meat or pasta, basically. I don't get why R is yelling. When he gets down he just wants up in our laps to destroy our plates.

@winniebee: Dinners are hard here too. We stopped doing the high chair around 18m because Logan was over it. He sits at a regular chair, but he really doesn't seem to like to eat... at all. He just gets down and cries while the rest of us are eating. Lately we've been sitting outside because of the nice weather and our patio chairs have arms, so he can't get down as easily, but he's still not really interested in having dinner!
I just keep trying to tell myself, "this too shall pass!"
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Adira: yep, my husband is like....does he even eat? He does eat well at other meals, so I'm not concerned about food intake.....but I'd like to stop having such disruptive dinners!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@winniebee: I'm with you! I was worried about whether he was eating enough but he's higher in percentiles than his brother was at this age, and they say he eats most of his food at daycare, so he must be fine! I just try to ignore him... it might be working...? He's been sitting and eating with us better the last couple nights... hope I didn't just jinx it...

@winniebee: we made the switch to the Oxo booster full-time a couple months ago. E is fine to be in it for most breakfasts (because she is super hungry....see previous "I NEED NACK!" comment..haha), but we have been eating our lunches & dinner out on the back patio every chance we get. She & Kate sit in mini-adirondacks that we pull up to a kid-sized table. That seems to go a lot better! Although she still likes to stand up on her chair, we give her 2 warnings that she is "too high" and if she does it again, we either take the chair away or (depending on how much she has eaten), we take her dinner away.
And that way when she plays with her food and/or dumps it all over the ground, I don't give a F*
After I changed her diaper this morning, E said "bye bye poop!" when I flushed it down the toilet. I love this age. Hahaha. K once told hers to "have a nice day!"

@winniebee: She seems to be interested in dinner one night and/or hands all her food back to me and says "All done" before she even took a bite!
She also demands "noodles" or "fen-fry"
Sorry kid!
She always eats her breakfast and lunch so like you I am.not worried about food intake
But hopefully R will want to sit better soonsoon for ya!!

@winniebee: K's new thing at dinner is that she doesn't want to use her fork by herself even though she was pretty good at it last week. Instead she asks for a "poon" but then wants me to use it to stab every item and give it to her to eat off of.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
I have a hard time getting K to eat veggies still! I can only hide it within stuff or as sauces but besides corn she really doesn't like any veggies.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: Logan doesn't like veggies OR fruit (except Bananas). He only really likes meat and carbs.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@Adira: G LOVES fruit, but any fruit other than apples and bananas give her awful acidic poop that leaves her so red
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: Aww!
Yeah, K pretty much eats all fruits, but also eats a TON of carbs, and proteins, and like, 0.9% veggies. I gotta remember to give her her multivitamin...
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: Awww G willwill only eat peas, carrots.and corn from a frozen bag!!! but eats meat like it's her job... lol
I need at ask about a Multi tomorrow at her apt

@snowjewelz: M only likes peas, carrots & bananas when it comes to fruits & veggies.
@winniebee: Glad you love your wind chimes M will sit in his highchair, but says he's done after a few bites, but then goes back to his plate, so we usually just leave him be until we finish eating.
@Adira: M is all about meat & carbs too.

K had her 18 month visit today. She was 30.7 inches long and weighed 19 pounds, which brings her all the way up to the 0.55%ile. Ha!

There is literally only ONE meal that I know both of our kids will eat without complaint every single time. I made it today because they're having sitter tonight and now I'm jealous because there won't be much screaming at our dinner and I won't even be there to appreciate it. But at at least we'll be on a date
Coincidentally - the one meal is this one from HB. Highly recommend:

@MrsF: yum!
We just discovered DD really likes babycorn, haha. I'm not sure if these things are nutritious tho since you can only buy them in a can lol. Our fail safe dinner is mac & cheese or any type of noodles.

@Miss Ariel: She is so cute!!!
@MrsF: Yummy!
G had her 18 month today too!
25lbs 33inches
And when the Dr. Went to look in her ear she pushed his hand down, gently....lol

Sorry for being so late getting back to everyone!
@MamaG: our nurses have been good for the most part. I like and trust Charlie with one more than the other, but I am hoping that gets better as time goes on. Unfortunately both nurses have been unavailable for parts of the last week and made my husband take days off work to help at home. Hopefully they will be back next week!

@josina:, @theotherstark:, @winniebee:, @MrsF:, @kaykay:, @snowjewelz:, @Adira:, and anyone I missed, thanks for the kind thoughts and well wishes! I feel a bit like a first time mom home with my newborn at times, so I really appreciate all of your support.
@josina: congrats! I have to admit I have a bit of baby fever myself (I am crazy), and seeing all the announcements here isn't helping
@snowjewelz: congrats! Sisters will be so sweet And Cayla has been all about my chest since she weaned at 15 months. Haven't figured out how to break that one yet.
@winniebee: I am so glad you were able to find a special place for the chimes. So much love to you!
@Miss Ariel: aw, little peanut! She is taller than Charlie though!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@MrsScallop: it must be so hard to get used to Charlie being at home and then get used to having new nurses caring for him as well. I hope that gets easier as the days go on! How is Cayla adjusting to all the upheaval?
And yay for baby fever!

@MrsScallop: So glad things seem to be going great, in
I'm sure it is a whole new world!!!
I pray the path continues to be uneventful and smooth!!!
Pretty sure G has an ear infection
eggplant / 11861 posts
@MrsF: Thanks, she was pulling her ear in the morning and had a slslight fever but was ok, but by 11 after lunch and her nap she woke mad at the world 102 fever and so sleepy
We watched TV in bed and slept from 1-4 and stayed in bed coloring and TV
Pretty sure she watched more TV yesterday than she haS in her whole life!
Was of course up at 3:30 asking for milk and to get down
was ready to start the day.... thankfully went back down!
Slight fever today so back to Dr we go.....

Ugh ladies, we are driving Charlie to Iowa City to be admitted again. Went to the ER last night a shot sent home, but a call to his Dialysis team got us a room in PICU. I am just so sad and can't bear to post about it on FB yet. He might have had a seizure and hasn't been entirely himself for 1.5 of the 2 weeks he has been home
