    @LittleMissKeiko: Welcome and congrats!

    AFM, I had my first appointment this morning and she did another ultrasound. She couldn't see a fetal pole. She says it's possible it's too early (I'm 5w6d) so we have to go back on April 21st. If we don't see it then, we'll know there is another problem.

    I'm trying to stay positive, remind myself that it is just early but after the previous loss, I'm having a hard time being hopeful.

    Ok I think I am ready to join!

    Location: Brisbane, Australia

    EDD: 16th

    How far along: 4w2d

    First child? Nope. Lo#1 turned 2 yesterday

    First doctor appointment: Monday. Just a confirmation appt and they will send me for bloodwork.

    Any symptoms so far? Cramping has been the biggest one. Surprisingly I don't have much of an appetite but I get nauseous when I am hungry. My belly is really tender, lying flat on it is already uncomfortable and am tired... but don't know if that is a symptom or just because LO sleep hasn't been great lately.

    Who have you told? DH and my BFF.

    @HappyBluebird: Its still very early!

    @sslm: So sorry for your loss

    @HappyBluebird: fx for you!

    @AprilFool: happy late birthday to your LO. Glad you're joining.

    I can't wait to see if someone will have a Christmas, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve DD. I was supposed to be a New Year's Day baby but my mom said I couldn't wait and came early haha can't wait to see if someone has my bday as a DD on the 29th.

    @Honeygold89: Thanks! I am exhausted after running around all day preparing for her party. I am hoping to go early this time, the further from Christmas the better! This will be the first year DD understands and I want to be able to enjoy it with her.

    @AprilFool: thanks

    @LulaBee: not yet. Had my second beta yesterday so I should hear today but I'm bleeding heavily so I know there's basically no hope. Now I'm just crossing my fingers this wraps up quickly. Last time I mc'd (much later, at 8.5 weeks) and it took 10 weeks for me to get a period. It was torture. It was a missed mc though, so I'm hopeful this one will be over quicker.

    First child? No, I have a 2-year old. He'll be just about to turn 3 when this one is born, if everything goes well.

    First doctor appointment: 4/28 or 4/29, I don't remember. It's for dating and checking for heartbeat.

    Any symptoms so far? Bloat! And a little bit of cramping.

    Who have you told? A surprising amount of people, considering I just found out yesterday lol. My DH, my mom, the daycare ladies, my BFF and her mom.

    @HappyBluebird: It's still early - sending positive vibes your way!

    6 weeks today. Nausea has kicked in...but extreme hunger has too. I didn't know those could go together! Anxiously awaiting my first appointment - May 1st. 3 weeks to go!

    Thanks guys. Just got confirmation. Beta was 150 on Tuesday and 91 yesterday. Looks like it might pass quickly.

    @LulaBee: our first loss was pre-DD. With a healthy pregnancy in between I don't think they'll be concerned. I just can't imagine how I'll cope if I have 2 in a row... Thanks for thinking of me.

    I hope you all have wonderful pregnancies!!

    @HappyBluebird: it is still early but definitely have my fx for you hard.

    @AprilFool: I bet I remember how tired I was for LO party in February trying to get it all together.

    @sslm: sorry for your loss I know how you feel I hope it doesn't drag on too long for you. (Hugs)

    @sotofamilia: welcome and congrats!

    @shortiecake: you'll be amazed at all the symptoms you can have hahaha. Hope the nausea doesn't get too bad for you though.

    My appointment didn't go as I hoped because she didn't want to do an ultrasound today because she felt it's too early to really see anything and wants me to wait until I'm 8 weeks ughhhh. I'm definitely missing my old midwife because no matter how far along I was at my first prenatal visits she would do an ultrasound but my mw now doesn't do them herself so I had to setup a time when the tech will be there 2-3 weeks from now which I'll have my first ultrasound may 4. I'll be 8w4d so she should be able to see and hear a heartbeat. The good side is my numbers did double but I didn't ask her the numbers since she said they look good so far so let's hope they keep going! I hate having two dates because of course my mw is going by my lmp which puts me at 6w1d today but I want to go by my O dates because I feel it would be more accurate when I get my ultrasound. I have to go Monday and do my glucose test already which I don't remember doing it this early with LO. I think I did it around 13-16 weeks but it doesn't matter I guess and plus I'll be going back to my high risk doctor again since they do that for all their "overweight" patients which I'm fine with because that's how I was able to get so many ultrasounds with ds so that's a plus side to it!

    @sslm: I'm so sorry. I've had some spotting with this pregnancy (I did beta tuesday and yesterday and should get results today). I had a miscarriage before my daughter and when I saw my OB on Tuesday I asked her if this was a miscarriage would she be worried about some sort of issue causing repeat pregnancy loss and she said that because I had a healthy pregnancy in between that it would just be crappy luck and no reason to believe I was at a higher risk for having another one. I hope the process is over for you quickly.

    @shortiecake: I remember saying I don't know if I feel sick or hungry a lot during my first pregnancy.

    @Honeygold89: Yay for good numbers but it's a little frustrating for you. At least that means she thinks everything is progressing ok.

    The killer fatigue has set in big time! (I'm six weeks tomorrow.) I've taken a mid-afternoon power nap on the couch four days in a row now. I could manage that because I'm on spring break, but it's going to be rough if I'm this worn out when I'm back to work next week.

    Hi everyone! I was waiting until my appt today before I posted here. Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

    Location: USA

    EDD: Dec 1st

    How far along: 6 weeks 3 days

    First child? No I have a 20 month old who keeps me busy

    First doctor appointment: I had a dating ultrasound today. Teared up when I saw that little flicker of a heartbeat!

    Any symptoms so far? Yes! I've been burping since 10 dpo and sore boobs for a couple weeks now. The fatigue hit me yesterday and all I want to do is nap! I don't remember this from my first pregnancy, but maybe I'm noticing it more since I have a toddler to keep up with. And I don't even want to think about food! Last time I had meat aversions, but this time nothing sounds appealing.

    Who have you told? DH and a couple besties. Telling family soon, but won't announce publicly for a while.

    @skipper2010: That little heartbeat is amazing!

    Weirdest symptom ever, I have made frosting twice now and each time it tastes like the powder hasn't blended and everyone else says it's fine. Bizarre! Lol

    i am completely shocked to be joining this group, but here goes.

    Location: Boston

    EDD: 12/17/15

    How far along: 4 weeks ish

    First child? no, we have a 20 month old daughter

    First doctor appointment: not sure- found out yesterday so ill call tomorrow, but I think they do it between 8-10 weeks.

    Any symptoms so far? Hard to say- I thought i was getting my period and I've have very mild cramping, and I got really bloated the few days before I tested. But I figured my period was coming.

    Who have you told? DH and HB. I feel really funny telling people- I have been fairly open about how we were waiting until this summer to TTC, when C would be almost 2. But, well, POM is subject to user error. The only reason I tested yesterday was because it was over two weeks from the, ahem, user error. We are still wrapping our heads around this and aren't quite ready to tell anyone IRL. We definitely want a second it's just the timing really surprised us! But I think the age gap between them will be really nice growing up.

    @maybebaby: I am going back to the same midwives too, and it looks like our due dates are a week apart- maybe we will see each other there!

    @Foodnerd81: congratulations how exciting!!!

    Well ladies Im going to be leaving you again believe it or not while I was at work this morning I started having pains in my left side and of course after already having had my previous ectopic I left right away and got to the hospital to find out that its another ectopic but on the left side this time and now I'm kicking myself for not asking my doc for the specific numbers on Friday because even with the first ectopic the numbers didn't double but they were close and now I'm thinking they had to be the same way this time because I was told last time they looked ok even though they didn't double so it probably was the same instance. The ER doctor suggest that I get a hsg to make sure my tubes are clear so I'll be making a appointment when I can to see if my primary would do it instead of my midwife. I'm honestly thinking about switching to another midwife within the practice because this lady doesn't seem to be up on it and she's one of the newer ones there since the midwife I had with my son has moved.

    Anyways I wish all the rest of you ladies the best of luck and have the happiest healthiest pregnancies

    @skipper2010: @Foodnerd81: Welcome to our little group! A happy and healthy nine months to you both.

    @Honeygold89: I am so sorry! Try to take it easy on yourself - if they thought there was anything to worry about on Friday, they would have told you. That said, if you're losing confidence in your midwife, it probably is best to switch, at least for your peace of mind. I hope things resolve quickly and you are able to move on and get some answers.

    @Honeygold89: I'm sorry. I would switch midwives too, your midwife should of been more proactive since you had already had an ectopic. Am so sorry this is happening to you again. We'll miss you around here. *hugs*

    @Foodnerd81: Welcome! I haven't told anyone IRL and we tried for this baby... feels different this time. Haha Somethings are meant to be and it's pretty close to summer

    How is everyone feeling this week? My boobs are starting to get sore!

    @AprilFool: I went to GP yesterday's to get my hCG levels. We're off to Bali on the 24th so wanted to make sure I'm safe to travel. Results back on Wednesday. I have had quite a lot of strong symptoms (major fatigue, cramping, nausea, BBs have been aching since 6DPO) & vivid dreams of twins.

    @lady baltimore: thanks I am more than likely going to switch because when I asked about an ultrasound and told her how nervous I was she just told me to relax as much as possible and that it was too early to see anything on an ultrasound and told me to wait until I was 8 weeks which was the same exact thing she said with my first ectopic so I have lost confidence in her judgment.

    @AprilFool: thanks I can say it's not easy at all. Dh had to talk me down from just getting a tubal ligation and being done with just DS but he really want to try again when we're in the clear and if the hsg is good and I really do want 2 but I was real close to giving up today.

    @LittleMissKeiko: @sslm: thank you ladies

  32. AprilFool

    nectarine / 2591 posts

    @LittleMissKeiko: Wow twins!! That would be exciting! When is your ultrasound? How long are you in Bali for?

    @Honeygold89: I can understand that. Ttc can bring a lot of heartache. I hope your rainbow is right around the corner after a hsg.

    I had my first appt today and it was just for blood work but weirdly he didn't ask me any questions, no lmp or anything. Very odd! I go back in a week so will see what happens then.

  33. LittleMissKeiko

    @AprilFool: I rang Radiology to book in appointment and they suggested that I wait until 6 weeks as you won't be able to see anything. She was surprised that the GP had written me a referral. My specialist OB appointment is only one week later (May 8th), so I guess I'll wait till then. Grateful for one baby, two is a bonus. My grand father was an identical twin, so just maybe...

    Look forward to hearing about your results next week.

    @LittleMissKeiko: My GP wrote my referral for my dating ultrasound at 4 weeks for #1 but told me to wait until at least 6 weeks to have it done. I think @bluestripedbee: saw her twins earlier than six weeks though but am not sure. A week in Bali would be glorious
