I wanted to suggest two things while you’re waiting: oil pulling- you take a teaspoon of coconut oil and swish it around in your mouth, then spit out. Do this after you brush. The second is taking a cod liver oil supplement. I always remember to start up when I get teeth sensitivity and usually within a few days it improves.

I had a cavity filled early in my first pregnancy - xrays and novocaine were needed. Everything was fine and I was told by my midwife group to definitely take care of this as infections or further complications are far more dangerous than the minimal risk of dental work. Best of luck - hope you're comfortable soon and it's not too much they need to do!

@graceandjoy: I was just at the dentist two weeks ago because one of the wisdom was so painful. 36 weeks at the time and they were tempted to pull but I decided all 4 can go at the same time after baby is here. My dentist did xrays(double layered me) and also advised that the OB has to give authorization. I scheduled for the fall and have been rinsing with warm water and brushing very well in the back. Tylenol when needed. No pain- I know it’s not similar but maybe salt water rinse and keeping an eye on it.

Well I had a root canal done at 41 weeks pregnant so I say get it fixed! I would perhaps wait for another week or so till you hit the second tri but definitely get it sorted so it doesn’t get worse.
