I did not, because I wanted a girl SO bad, and I had one. But I will say, if I had found out it was a boy then I would have been slightly disappointed. Of course in the big picture of things, I really truly just wanted a healthy baby (as everyone does) but yeah, I totally understand how some people experience gender disappointment.

I wanted a girl, so yea, it took a few days to let go of that idea, but after a miscarriage I really honestly want a healthy baby more than anything. If I hadn't m/c the first pregnancy, I probably would have geniunely been sad about not having a girl for awhile.

No, but I kinda think I might have had we not been team green. As it was, when I found out the sex I was being handed a baby, and didn't have time to be disappointed (although my very first thought was "huh, I thought you'd be a girl!") I think if I'd found out at the anatomy scan and not immediately had a baby in my arms it would have taken me a few days to adjust.

I noticed myself having a desire for a girl, so I've been spending some time thinking about the upsides of having a boy- and there are lots! People I know talk about how awesome their little boys are, so I've had lots of positive feedback about both girls and boys, so I can honestly see how both are really great in their own ways.

I'm now wondering if I might experience disappointment regardless, because once I find out, I get the excitement of knowing, but there's also the sadness of the other possibility that is now off the table, if that makes any sense?

I think I would have been disappointed if LO was a boy. I wanted a girl *really* badly.

First time I really wanted (and had) a girl. This time it was win-win (as habesbabe said) - either we wound up with one of each, or we got to have sisters close in age. Turns out we've got sisters - we are both excited but it does mean they the pressure is on for #3 to be a boy. If we go for #3 and have a girl I'll feel a bit sad for my hubby that it's not a boy, but I don't think I'll be genuinely disappointed.

We were Team Green and it was very hard to be disappointed when I had an actual baby there to care for. I just didn't think about the alternative.

I really didn't think I cared either way but honestly I found myself rooting for girl during our anatomy scan. She IS a girl so I was super pumped-- but I think I might've felt a tiny bit disappointed if it was a boy.

Next time I don't think I'll care. I really wanted at least 1 girl. But I don't care if it is 2 girls or boy and girl.

I know I won't with number one, but I could see being disappointed with #2 because I want at least 1 girl and I know that will be our last.

With DS there was maybe a very small part of me that was a little disappointed for like a second but I think the disappointment was more that we found out on a very late ultrasound rather than when he was born.
This time around we found out early and I just *knew* we were having another boy. I never even considered the possibility of a girl really but I don't think I would be at all disappointed if that were the case.

I just want a healthy little baby! I think the problem with the whole keep going if its not the sex you want is that you still might end up dissapointed. I will admit I was secretly really wanting a boy with my son. All of my baby dolls and pets growing up were boys. I have a sister and I always wanted a baby brother. I would love to see what its like yo have a girl. This next time I just hope I can get pregnant with a healthy little bundle though. Since this is our last I might mourn the idea of a daughter a teeny bit but I love boys so GD much! I know most of us will love our baby no matter what though and I don't fault people who feel let down at first because they have certain expectations.

@Mae: It was early in the pregnancy. I had genetic testing done because I'd had two miscarriages. It was an ob I only saw briefly. She told me I was having a girl, then when I switched to a new ob, she confirmed that Charlie was a boy!

@BananaPancakes: Oh man, I was 100% convinced that E would be a girl! And that after I was 100% convinced that I wasn't pregnant to begin with! My mother's intuition was apparently completely non-existent!

DH and I wanted a girl but we decided not to find out what we were having. After DH studied the ultrasound pics he determined we were having a boy. We were both a little disappointed since all of our friends were pregnant with girls (and wanted boys). It turned out we were terrible at reading the ultrasound pic and when we decided to open the envelope with the sex and stop pretending we didn't know it turned out we were having a girl.

I don't think I'll care as much with #2.

Not at all. My husband and I both just wanted a healthy baby. Now that we are expecting baby #2 we feel the same way, although many people assume we want a boy (since LO #1 is a girl).
