Uh, no. Haha.
This picture was on Gerber's Facebook page today. There was never a moment in my pregnancy that we looked like these two.
How about you?

hahaha. maybe we're corny... we totally did this every night!!! We did our kick counts and both rested our hands on my belly feeling him move and kick. We'd talk about how our life would change, baby names, what kind of parents we'd be etc... It was a special time

Nope. Totally didn't. He did touch it a few times, and I made him poke my belly button toward the end of the pg because it just felt too squishy and weird (and it never popped out). I, on the other hand, touched it enough for the both of us!

lol not like that! but Dh does pat my stomach frequently and say hello and give it a little attention if we're laying on the couch. It's funny, but it's cute. He's kind of goofy about it when he does it, though. I'll let him know if she's bopping around in there and sometimes he can feel her, but mostly he just says hello

DH sometimes puts his face directly next to my belly and says in an unnaturally low voice "THIS IS YOUR FATHER SPEAKING". So romantic

DH was totally not into the bump. I kept trying to get him to talk to it, and he would just make funny voices and say "HI BABY!" as loud as he could. I kept telling him LO isn't going to know who you are if you keep talking to her like Peewee Herman while in utero!!

Not as corny like that, but there were definitely times we'd be in bed or on the couch and my hubby would put is hand on my belly to feel kicks.
persimmon / 1479 posts
Nope, so not us. If body parts were protruding DH would feel to try to guess what part it was and sometimes when we laid in bed he would feel the baby move, otherwise he was pretty hands off in all of my pregnancies.

Yeah we actually have "belly out time" (what I've named it) and after our older LO's go to bed I lay on the couch and he just lays his hand on my belly while we are watching tv.
He also kisses my belly before I go to bed every night.
I guess we are corny lol

HAHA! Sometimes, but then there's the "behind the picture" scene -- baby sticks his whole leg out into the middle of my stomach, husband recoils, never takes me up on my offer to caress my belly again.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
Nope, not at all! Hubs seems to have no interest in the bump what-so-ever! I've gotten him to feel a couple kicks and witness some movement, but he doesn't really seem to care that much. I'm hoping he'll be more interested in the baby when he's on the outside, haha.

Well, he has annoyingly always liked touching my stomach-- which is really annoying when you are not pregnant and just bloated. It was actually a constant sore spot for us. So now that our baby is in there, I don't mind it so much. I'm barely showing (unless you count being so bloated last night that I looked 6 months pregnant) but he will put his hand on my stomach a lot more now, especially at night or when we are watching TV. Not quite like that couple, but I can see us getting there. He also plans on putting headphones on my belly so the baby can get used to "good" music.

Um, yeah. Not all of the time or anything, but there were definitely times...usually when we were cuddling/talking about our days before bed...when he'd rub/talk to/read to/sing to my belly. And stare. He was fascinated by it all.

@JoJoGirl: haha- my husband does that too. He also likes to say "learn to obey this voice. you will obey me." in a really deep voice. I keep telling him he's probably scaring the poor thing.

not even close!
I would bump my belly into his butt when DS was kicking so he could get a swift kick in the arse though. Sweet, right?

@JoJoGirl: haha I can totally see my husband doing something similar, or just quoting star wars "Baby, I am your Father" hahaha

When we are sitting on the couch watching tv, he will ask if she is kicking, then put his hand on my belly. Usually not for very long though. He does rub the belly before bed every night and tells her Good Night and that he loves her. Sometimes he kisses it. Yesterday he laid his head on my belly and she gave him a nice hard kick.

Hubs puts his hand on my belly to feel him kicking and moving around, but he doesn't talk to it much. And it's definitely not in a cuddly position like in that picture. Usually he'll just reach across the couch for a few minutes. When Hubs does directly talk to the baby, it's to tell the baby to stop beating up his Mama!

@ladyfingers: One night my DH actually got upset when I was spooning him that LO kicked at him really hard on his back. That was pretty much the end of his fascinataion with the belly:)

haha. Um...yes! We totally do this, but in much weirder ways, especially because I'm only 12 1/2 weeks and basically just look pudgy at this point.
We have several variations. DH cuddles my tummy in bed and talks to the baby in weird voices; I purposely walk around after a shower just wearing undies and if he's sitting down, I purposely push my bloated belly in his face and make him kiss it (sometimes this is accompanied by an awkward dance); he makes a BIG SHOW of saying "I'm home! I Missed you so much" when he comes home...and then comes over to hug my tummy so I know it's the baby and not me he's talking to.
yeah, we're weird.

DH will pet the belly and talk to it, but i'm usually on my ipad, not looking at it with him. to be fair, he only saw me 1-2 days a week for the last 4 months, so he got all his time in at once!

@rachiecakes: Hahaha. That's special bonding right there.

Constantly, he loved it. It was some alpha male look what I did to my woman stuff, and it was adorable. He thought it was gorgeous and sexy.

@JoJoGirl: hahaha, yep. That's my DH, too.
We did a few nights a week, he loved feeling both babies kick. I remember one night specifically during my first pregnancy when we laid on our bed for hours talking to my belly and feeling DS move.
