T's birthday - Feb 21st - falls on a Saturday so we get to have his party on his actual birthday! I know we're going to have a pirate theme because he loves Jake and the Neverland Pirates. I have a few things picked out but I haven't started much planning. Although I've had the space rented out for a while because it's at my work. Haha. I grabbed it when he was just 2 months old.

@Danizaur: I love this thread already!
DD's birthday is Feb 4, so we are going to have the party on Feb 7th. We're doing a Sweetheart theme 'cause she's our little sweetheart.
Still trying to figure out where we are going to have it because our house is too small. I heard you can have it at model homes, but I haven't checked into it yet. There's also a rec center up the road, but I'm not sure if it's ghetto or not, lol. I need to go look at it. I love parties and I can't wait to plan it!!

Arrgh, Feb 28th here. Haven't done a n y t h i n g about this yet. So glad you started this so it will make me think about things!
Our house is small too, but we have a massive basement. I'm wondering if I could clean it up and decorate it nicely enough that we could use that space. (We don't have a ton of spare cash to rent somewhere else with DH being a perpetual student.)

LO's birthday is Feb 3 and he was born the day after the Super Bowl so we are doing a Football theme on Super Bowl Sunday this year. We rented a room in a local community center since our house is too small to have the amount of people that we want.

Technically I shouldn't post here since DD came early but her bday is Jan 28th. I have no idea what I'm doing for her. It'll be at our house and I am so very tempted to do the same thing I did for DD1's party this year- a brunch- creme brûlée French toast, 2 different quiches... But then I feel like it wouldn't be fair for DD2.

I'd've actually been thinking about Dds bday a lot lately...I feel like it's a hard birthday month! Haven't decided what I'm going to do. I did a birthday party for ds when he was one and I couldn't imagine not doing one for dd! I envision lots of pretty pastels...mint, gold, pink...a beautiful outfit...no idea where location wise though!

@matador84: Love those colors! That sounds so pretty.
I think I'm going to have sugar cookies made for the party. I found this girl that does them out of her home and they are so pretty! I'm thinking lacey pinks and red hearts. Maybe some flowers too. Like this:

So I'm an early planner. N bday is feb 13 which is on a Friday so we'll have it on valentines day and I'm doing a joint party with my neice since her bday is vday (she'll be 6) but she's excited about having a party with N. I started getting things together in my head around 4 months and then started discussing them with DH around 5 1/2 months. I pretty much have it all planned out down to the food, guest list, and decorations. We'll be doing a mickey mouse clubhouse / Minnie mouse theme since N seems to like that show and my neice loves Minnie. We'll have it at my parents house since mostly all my family live in that area and they have more room. I started ordering stuff around a month ago but only the stuff that I want from offline and knew would take time to get here. I have hats, piñata, cookie cutter, cake pan, cake stand, pin the nose on mickey, and a few of the decorations that will take time for me to put together which I'll be able to do ove my Christmas break. Now we'll just have to get the smaller stuff like balloons and food around the end of January.
The hats came in the other week and I cou resist trying it on him lol. (Excuse the pamper)

Feb 20th here. We Will have it on the 21st or 22nd. We have a theme and I know basically what I want to do for all the details. Still need to pick a place (been getting quotes). We will have it at my in-laws as a backup though. Can't believe how close it's getting!

@Honeygold89: Wow, you're on top of it! I'm waiting until after the holidays to start putting stuff together.

I have T's invitations picked out. We're staying with family for a couple of weeks. I'll probably order them and other things after we get back. I've already reserved his cake to be made. It's definitely going to be one of the more extravagant things for his party. It's not big, but very detailed! Also he has a treasure chest cake for his smash cake.

@Danizaur: SO cute!! Love that invite.
I think we'll do a fancy little smash cake for her and get a sheet cake or cupcakes for everyone else. Haven't decided on that yet.

@abbydabbydoodlebug: I had lots of thinking time lol.
@Danizaur: that's just too cute. Love them. I found some that I liked on Pinterest along with tons of ideas. Here some I'm definitely doing.
I'm just going to do something like this for his smash cake

We are throwing R's birthday party (due to scheduling conflicts) in 3 weeks (!) We have 22 adults and 12 children attending her birthday brunch.
I haven't decided on a theme, but have finalized our menu:
French toast,
Mexican style quiche
Pesto quiche
meatballs
mini croissant sandwich platter
fruit salad
and
birthday cake, with a special cupcake for R!
Drinks that will be served: coffee, OJ, mimosas, beer
I can't believe I'm throwing a 1st birthday party in 3 weeks. Seriously where did this year go?

@lavender: sounds yummy. That's a great idea, instead of a smash cake doing a cupcake I think we'll do that too. Time has definitely flew wow!

I paid the deposit for T's cake, ordered his invitations and cake topper.
I'm also having him a pirate shirt made with his name on it to wear at the party. I'm excited!!

Our party is planned for Feb 7th-- one day after her bday, because we wanted to do it on Saturday. We printed the invites last night and are getting them out ASAP, and I've ordered a ton of stuff! We're doing hearts (so close to Valentine's Day and all-- and because even though I came in Jan, my own due date was Valentine's Day! It might be silly, but I love that little connection with my last baby.) The colors are sparkly gold and pink, no red, and a little bit of white. I am making a regular layer cake with a darling sparkly heart cake topper, and a bunch of cupcakes with giant fondant hearts on top (well, going to try to do the fondant-- I've never made it before but it doesn't look crazy hard). I'm also making heart shaped cookies, a tutu for LO with heart flocked tulle, and a tablecloth. I ordered the rest of the decor

@Danizaur: yay for getting things together. Do you mind sharing a picture of his shirt, I was thinking about getting Noah one made but don't have many ideas.
@erinpye: it's com up fast. I bet it's going to be so pretty with those colors.
I printed out the invitations two nights ago and have started passing them out as I see people. My brother girlfriend asked if she could do everything for my neice party so I let and and she's doing hello kitty. So we are going to decorate half of the room mickey mouse and the other half hello kitty. That should be interesting.
With time getting closer I'm starting to get nervous but I know it will all come together. Can't wait to see how all the parties go!

@Honeygold89: Cute invites! I think the half and half will be really cool!
I can't post a photo from my phone but I'll ljnk you the etsy shop I bought it from. She has some Mickey mouse styles in her shop!

We have slacked on the party planning! We are finally putting a deposit down this weekend on a venue and I have invites ordered so they will go out next week (everyone already knows when it is anywas so no big.) her outfit is ordered and I have my decor ideas planned, just need to purchase! Our restaurant provides dessert in their package so I'm only doing a smash cake.
Any ideas for favors? Theme is twinkle twinkle you're our star! Only a few kids ages 1-6.

I think we're going to do something at our apartment but I haven't worked out the logistics yet. I want to invite a lot of people, so I want it to be open house-style. But I'm not sure how to combine that with a first birthday.
Our party's not til mid-March. T was due in Feb, but he wasn't born until early March. My MIL will be out of town the first weekend so we punted the date by another week.

We aren't having a party for DS. SO and I thought this best because nobody came to DDs second birthday and we don't want other people to show favoritism towards either child. Will prolly just do something personal for DS. It'll still be a good day just not tonz of people

DD's birthday is only 3 weeks away, ahh! Crazyness. I have her outfit almost done. I'm doing a pink pettiskirt with white tights with pink hearts on the knees and matching headband. I need to get a shirt for her. I may just end up using a white shirt that we already have.
I decided not to do a traditional cake since we are doing a sweets table. I think we are going to do red velvet bundtinis from Nothing Bundt Cakes for everyone and I think we'll get a cupcake for DD for her smash.
I got some cute heart tablecloths from Party city, along with a ton of other stuff, haha. I'm DIYing a happy birthday banner from doilies, streamer garland, and a few signs. We are going to get a bunch of balloons and swag some tablecloths along the ballet bars in the dance room we're in. Trying to keep it simple since we have to clean everything up at the venue before they lock up.
We also set up a first birthday photoshoot for the 24th and doing a cake smash then too with balloons and the banner.
We are doing it in the afternoon, so we are just serving light snacks and nothing messy, haha. I don't want to sweep the entire room!

@Danizaur: thanks that is so cute T is going to look too cute in that.
@catomd00: for favors you can maybe find some stickers, candy, or maybe try going to Walmart or your local dollar store and finding little things to put in it that's cute but age appropriate that's pretty much what I plan on doing.
@ElbieKay: good luck I'm sure you'll find something good to do.
@littleblessings: that'll still be nice doing something among you guys.
@abbydabbydoodlebug: her outfit sounds like it's going to be really cute and her party too. I think I'm going to do a cupcake smash cake too since we're having a mickey mouse cake for my son and a hello kitty cake for my neice (my brother girlfriend insists on getting her one) so with two cakes there's no need for a thrid. Im also not doing cake pops anymore with all the cakes, I just decided I get DH to bake mickey mouse shape cookies instead.
I'm excited for all our party's and can't wait to see the turn out on them.

It's all coming together!
I picked up a ton of decor today and did some painting. I posted some pics on IG. I can't upload to HB from my phone.
I'm going to print off a bunch of IG photos from T's birth til now and clothespin them to a clothesline to hang at his party. I'm glad now I documented every second of his life on IG. Walmart will print square prints directly from IG so it's super convenient. Haha. I have 60 pins and its honestly hard to just choose 60!!
My mom called today to say she will be in for his party. She lives 10+ hours away so we are so thrilled.
I just have to get food and a few more small things. I can't wait!

@Danizaur: that's awesome! Can't wait to see how everybody's parties turn out!
We are almost ready for DD's party this weekend. Ordered 3 dozen balloons today, haha. I have most of the decor done except for some signs. I need to make marshmallow pops tomorrow and an appetizer Friday night. I'm glad the party is in the afternoon because then I have most of the day to get everything ready to go.
Her actual birthday is tomorrow though. Can't believe she's 1! The first 5 months were rough, but the last 7 flew by.
We just got the pictures back from her 1 yeasyear photo shoot. Here are my favorites. Couldn't pick just one!

Adrienne turned 1 on Friday, and we threw her party yesterday. Here's some photo spam of her heart themed birthday! I DIY'd her cupcakes, cake, tutu, heart banners, and tablecloth!

@Danizaur: @Honeygold89: @erinpye: Thanks! We had our DD's birthday yesterday too. A sweetheart theme! I didn't get to take too many pictures, I was too busy! But here are the ones I had a chance to take.

@Honeygold89: Thanks for the ideas. I think I'm going to get cute bags that match our theme and not worry about the actual favors matching.
We are 13 days out and ordered our smash cake today. I have made most of the decor. Still need to make The cake topper and print out pics for our clothesline display. Might make a banner for her high chair of I have time. Otherwise I think we are pretty well prepared!

@erinpye: wow everything looked great good job and she was too cute and happy. Happy birthday to her!
@abbydabbydoodlebug: that was just too cute good job.
