@graceandjoy: I have my ultrasound this morning! 🤞

I have been quiet because I am totally in limbo. I dreamt all night that I was given the news that there was no baby. Today is the day we find out! Now I need to drink 3 cups of water in the next hour. Eep

@Eebolleh: Yess drink that water! I didn't drink enough water and they couldn't get my already hard to find veins and I had to go back. Hoping for a great appointment for you!

@graceandjoy: I am actually starting to feel better. And then I psych myself out and say I’m gonna get miscarriage symptoms now that my hormones are lower. I had a ton of uterus cramping yesterday at work but no bleeding.

My friend told me she passed a placenta at 13 weeks from a MMC so I'm totally expecting that to happen

@Eebolleh: I know it's so hard not to worry and have anxiety over it. I think about it a lot too, like I am still feeling sick but could be b/c my body hasn't caught up to the fact, etc. Hugs

@Eebolleh: I saw you wrote and I was compelled to check the board bc I remember (from your inquiry on the POAS board) that you said Tues would be your second scan and beta. I have been praying and keeping my fingers crossed 🤞 that all was fine. I am elated to read your update. 💕 Excited hugs sent your way!

Okay, now my creepy-peeping 👀 self will find herself back off of the Mama's board and back to the POAS. 😉😂🤣😂🤣😂

@Kaohinani: aw thanks for replying! I was going to update the poas thread too because you guys were so helpful! Sounds like the first ultrasound was just too early

This whole waiting period in 1st trimester is just torture! 10 weeks this Sat only (and I know I'm already one of the earlier ones here).

I should know gender by the time I hit 12 weeks; I just want to shout it from the rooftops (or just at work, really) so that people understand why I look dis-engaged half the time lol!

  13. Sams Mom

    grapefruit / 4492 posts

@graceandjoy: I told the doctor and PA I work for yesterday, after that I said it loud enough around the office gossip that I don't have to tell anyone else 🤷‍♀️

I look and feel like crap, and I'm only 7 weeks tomorrow 😭 ultrasound in another week.

  14. graceandjoy

    pear / 1565 posts

@Sams Mom: Same, same about looking/feeling like crap. Self care is like non-existent besides sleep.

Most people in my social circle that I see frequently already know. I actually would tell my boss any time if an opportunity came up, but there has been none so I feel weird initiating it while still in 1st trimester...

Anyone thinking about gender reveal at all? DH & I don't really care, so when I find out, I'll tell him but we're planning on doing a reveal for the girls and I'm really looking forward to that! My current idea is just to do balloons from a box and cake after (and will invite my parents too and FT some other family/friends).

I have friends who are first time parents who just did the egg smash gender reveal, it was hilarious!

@graceandjoy: unless my uterus has turned into a clown car, we'll wait until birth to find out. My little sister said she has to get a note from the U/S tech with the gender so she can start shopping because she's not dealing with "bullshit waiting" this time 😂

My husband is actually on board with this because 1) he knows my sister will buy so much stuff we won't have to 2) he's a little scared of her I think

@Sams Mom: Hahahaha! She is too funny! So I take that you were team green last time too?

  17. Sams Mom

    grapefruit / 4492 posts

@graceandjoy: yes, and she hated it... A lot... I think she might have more gender disappointment than I ever will if we have another boy because she wants to buy girl clothes.

  18. graceandjoy

    pear / 1565 posts

@Sams Mom: Haha! But then it might be so obvious by her excitement/disappointment that she'd give it away!

It would 10000% drive me insane not knowing either, haha!

@graceandjoy: I told her if she gives it away I'm punching her in the boob

I’m trying to decide if we want to do any sort of gender reveal. We are definitely finding out! I’m impatient. I don’t want to become self absorbed either but I think our immediate family would find it fun. Maybe we’ll bake cupcakes or something? Any fun ideas?

I’m starting to feel less horrible. Still not great but not like walking death anymore. Although today my right hip was giving me a lot of trouble. Im definitely gaining weight faster than with my first but I don’t have a tummy yet! But my right sacrum was so old and sore today, walking was painful. Probably just my ligaments getting loose or something to do with hormones.

    @Sams Mom:

Anyone know when I can get a heartbeat on a fetal Doppler? We tried tonight at 9 +3 and I might’ve heard it for a second. Now sure when is typical though. It was mostly for fun

@Sams Mom: that’s a great idea. Thanks. I’ll try that when I’m home tonight

  26. graceandjoy

@Eebolleh: I'm 100% just doing a reveal so it's fun for my girls, and then I was like ok why don't I just have my parents over too and anyone who wants in via FaceTime

I'm glad you're feeling better! I swear I feel worse at work, maybe cause I'm sitting down? I always seem to feel better on the weekends even though I'm extra exhausted with the kids. During the work week I struggle big time and literally just try to go minute by minute...

Had another appointment on Friday! Drew blood so I'll know gender in 10-14 days... So excited! Also did a brief US to look @ baby. I'm still amazed how much they develop in just a month! Went from a bean to a little person!

I don't want to jinx it but at 11 weeks I feel like I'm doing better.

BUT I think I have a tooth infection Need to get to the dentist to take a look this week

Is anyone still here? Or are we all hanging out on Jan/Mar boards haha!

I had my 12 weeks scan, everything looks good, baby was so active! I found out gender since my blood test results came back; but we're waiting till this weekend to do a little gender reveal shindig for our families so I will come back on Monday to report

@graceandjoy: I meant to go looking for this board the other day because it felt like it had fallen off. I'm officially a February "due date" now. February 25 will be my repeat c section.

I am so tired of being tired 😴 Even though I know I'm years out from good sleep.

    How is everyone else doing?

  32. graceandjoy

    pear / 1565 posts

@Sams Mom: So now I'm 12.5 weeks and I do feel better, so hopefully you will start to! I always felt sick in the mornings and evenings and now that seems alleviated. But already getting up to pee at least 1-2x at night then have trouble falling back asleep even though I'm so tired! I also seem to be entering the "eat everything in sight" phase lol.

I told my boss yesterday and a few other people at work. I feel SO awkward telling everyone though, so now I'm just letting the bump hang out and wait for people to realize, haha. I can't remember how I've told people the last 2 times either...

@graceandjoy: I am 10 weeks tomorrow by ovulation and 10+2 by LMP. I am counting down to the second tri when all the magical feeling better starts.

My son woke me up at 12:30 last night because he had to pee and is "afraid of the dark" (he is using it as an excuse here lately, even though he gets up by himself most nights). I turn on my phone light, he goes pee, I can't go back to sleep. I realize I'm starving, so I get a giant bowl of fruit loops at like 1, and stay up until almost 2 because I can't sleep.

@Sams Mom: Ohh I def had a few middle of the night munchies sessions. Like I couldn't sleep unless I ate something. I was looking at my phone for hrs when I couldn't sleep, but now I try not to pick up my phone and just force myself to rest even if I'm not asleep.

Sorry everyone! I have been so busy, we had a family staycation this week. We had great weather and my husband finally got to get a break from his stressful work. I had to go back to work for 3/4 of a day today and then we had our FTS. Baby is totally a baby now, but just a little peanut. Screening was perfect and baby is something like 90th percentile for CRL. I am convinced I’m going to have a giant boy baby this time. I’m 5’3 and like 110 lbs and my husband is 6’4. My daughter was already 8 lbs, I’m anticipating a 10lb boy. Eeep!

They couldn’t say if it was a boy or girl yet, so I need to wait until October for confirmation.

I am starting to feel... a little better? Sort of? I actually feel horrible right now, but I’m feeling decent during the daytime. I’m getting a little more energy back as well, and I’ve been able to tackle a few projects during nap times recently. We just took apart our guest room to make way for the nursery. We also needed to purge a few closets to get all our clothes into the master bedroom closet. I’m starting to feel like I’m able to shake off the first trimester blahs.

I also registered to get a midwife instead of my family doctors. I hated the process last time, so I’m hoping the midwife is a more natural process. I ran out of diclectin and I called my midwife, spoke to the midwife after a single ring and they called my refill in for me on the spot! I haven’t even met with her yet but they seem really awesome.

@Eebolleh: So glad you had a good time with your family! I keep saying I'm much better too (which I am), but I also did dry-heaved for like 5 min this morning from brushing my teeth soo....

    Btw, we're having a boy
