Hey December mamas!
We just got the OK at LOs 4 month check up to start cereal. I ended up grinding up some oatmeal and he loved it!
Curious if anyone else started cereal/food and how it is going?

We are just starting to think about this! DD turned 5 months this past weekend. At her 4-month checkup, her ped said we could start solids when she seemed interested, but she wasn't showing any interest then. Now, though, she seems like she's about ready -- sitting up well (assisted) and loves her high chair, watches us eat with serious interest, has tried to grab food from our hands. Plus, she has added another MOTN nursing session (well, MOTN for her, it's usually right around when I'm getting ready for bed). So...I think it's time but it seems so soon! I'm excited but also kind of sad that time is passing so quickly.
We're not big on rice cereal because of the high levels of arsenic in US-grown rice, and just prefer to avoid it. So we're debating on whether to start with ground-up oats mixed with breastmilk or avocado mashed and thinned with breastmilk. We know her doctor socially and DH will be seeing her at an event this week, so I told him to casually drop it into conversation if he can do it without being awkward to find out which she thinks is best .

i'm going to wait til he can sit up much better. He's just 5.5 months now. I did Baby led weaning with our daughter, and it went really well, so I will do that again. Skipping the cereal and straight to that.
