I have never drank anything before mine. In fact I have to pee in a cup every time I go as soon as I check in before I get called back for the ultrasound. I have my anatomy ultrasound Monday and I asked about it and they told me I didn't need to.

Ultimately I learned to hydrate like crazy in the days leading up to an ultrasound. About 30-45 minutes before the appointment I would chug the 32 oz, and that would get me to the appointment well hydrated and not quite bursting at the bladder. The ultrasound tech told me that the better hydrated I was, the better picture they would get of the little guy.

Best pee ever after an ultrasound though!

Ugh! I wouldn't want to! Baby is always so deep and with the anterior placenta, last visit she pressed so hard/deep on my belly, I cant imagine holding it! I did drink some coke before my visit though. Tech said sugar (like juice) and caffiene makes baby more active and awake. Baby was too comfy sleeping at 16 week u/s I didn't want that to happen again!

Yup I had to have a full bladder for all 2nd trimester ultrasounds. It helps them get the most clear shots to check anatomy. But man is it tough to hold it in when they push in your belly with the wand!!!

Empty bladder and I didn't have much to drink before either.

That's so odd that different techs require bladders to be full or empty. Mine wanted my bladder completely empty.
