Dh, but the nurse had to remind us to look! We were both almost in shock that she was finally here and forgot to check.

My husband. I had no sort of birth plan or instructions for my doctor and nurses except that they BETTER NOT announce the sex to me because I wanted to hear it from my husband!

I wanted dh to announce. When she was born Dh said "it's a girl!!" At the same time the nurse said "it's a boy!!"
I was extremely confused and obviously believed the nurse as she's a health professional, but then dr confirmed my husband was right

The doctor or nurses announced it. They were like, "Whoa! He's all boy!!!"

We had put on our hospital forms that DH wanted to announce, but we weren't expecting at the time that I would have a c-section. In order to announce, DH had to stand up and look over the "curtain" and it took him a minute to focus on the baby and not the gore of my open belly! After a minute he was like "Ummm, it's a girl?" He sounded quite unsure...but he was right!

Cute, my DH announced but I was so overwhelmed with having her right there on my chest it wasn't a big "announcement".

DH! I was SO SURE DS was a boy that when DH said "It's a boy!" I had no idea what he was talking about! I was like, "yeah? of course!" Then I remembered we didn't know yet! I was just so overwhelmed by the baby being born, that I wasn't even that interested in the sex!
Ahh...that kind of makes me want to be team green again. I think we are going to switch it up and find out this time.

D did. "A boy! It's a boy! Honeybee we have a son!" is the clearest memory I have of that day!

DH told me. I told the dr that if possible I'd like DH to be able to make the announcement to me. It was twins and I can very clearly remember him telling me each time. It's a sweet memory.

I announced it! He was put on my chest and it was so obvious, it's the first thing I thought to blurt out.

@lovehoneybee: I want that type of announcement if we go team green in the future!

I don't even remember! I was looking down expecting to see boy parts (I thought for sure she was a boy) and when someone said girl I didn't believe them. I think I said "Are you sure?!"

DH did! I had a scheduled c/s and can still hear him making the big announcement to me. Loved it!

My doctor both times:
DD: "indoor plumbing, it's a girl"
DS: "learn to duck, it's a boy"

No one said anything at first... I think the staff was used to parents already knowing. Maybe a few seconds after her birth, I asked, and the Dr turned her around so I saw for myself. I was so shocked because everyone thought we were having a boy.

With our first, my husband said it. The second time, the pediatrician told me. Both times I had to ask. "Hello, people? Giving birth here. Throw me a bone?"

DH did both times! With our first, he was so overwhelmed that the midwife had to prompt him to look. He then got all flustered - the umbilical cord was in the way and he wasn't sure whether or not he could move it... Eventually the midwife moved it and he could see it was a girl!
Second time around he was much better - as soon as she came out, he said "it's a girl!", to which I replied "I know" as I'd been convinced she was a girl from the start.

@SAHM0811: Same for us. No one gives the big "it's a boy/girl" announcement anymore! I had to ask!

I had to ask! I had him and they started wiping him up and I'm sure it was only a couple minutes, but I was like "What is it?!" DH said "It's a boy!"
