    @fuzzypeaches: yay!! Congrats!!

    Ugh, so annoyed. My doctors office just called and I got a recorded message that the office is closed due to weather tomorrow - when I'm supposed to have my anatomy scan. We're all iced in today and everything totally shuts down here when the weather is bad. I mean we ready know the gender but my mom is in town and I was really excited for her to be at the anatomy scan. And since the office is so small, the ultrasound tech only works on Wednesdays.

    @Tidybee: unless you know what you're looking for, I doubt it will be obvious! Especially without the potty shot.

    Wonderful, so many of us finding out! And it's good to finally see the girls catching up

    @fuzzypeaches: you totally knew it!

    How is everyone having anatomy scans already? Mine isn't for another three weeks I guess I'll have to gather my patience!

    @Tidybee: We were watching the screen the entire time at my anatomy scan yesterday and we never caught a glimpse. The baby kept its legs closed but the tech said she knew the gender.

    @Bluemasonjar: I wonder if that means it's a girl!
    We looked pretty hard at our anatomy scan with DD and thought we couldn't see anything...but turns out there was nothing to see! I guess I was just wondering if the boys were a bit "easier".

    @Tidybee: I couldn't figure it out until way later. I stared and stared at our potty shot and still didn't get it! But, I'm horrible at reading u/s pics!

    @mrsjyw: haha good to know. I guess we're just meant to be Team Green.......
    My anatomy scan isn't until almost 21 weeks which is the end of next week.

    @Mama Bird: Haha I know! Mine isn't until March 4th. I'm so happy to hear about all the ultrasounds but man, it's making me impatient!

    My appointment was cancelled due to weather. I already know the gender, but I was looking forward to the anatomy scan honestly. I'm pissed off with the doctors office because they didn't even call to let me know that they were closed or anything was cancelled. We went the office just to see that they were closed. This was the last straw with them. I'm looking for a new doctor.

    @fuzzy peaches: Yay!!! Congratulations

    My anatomy scan is tomorrow at 8 AM! I am SO excited to see baby again, especially since I am feeling kicks all the time now. DH felt it for the first time last night and he was so excited and amazed--it was really sweet.

    We are STILL undecided as to whether or not we are Team Green with like twelve hours to go. I think we're going to ask the tech to write the gender down and maybe we can decide later.

  15. Tidybee

    nectarine / 2834 posts

    @angelachase: hah that's exactly where we're at. Once we know, we can't un-know but if we're not ready to make a decision, we don't want to be forced into it. We said we'd both sign the envelope and decide later whether to open it or burn it.

    @Candy_nee: That's a bummer! Sorry to hear that.
    @Tidybee: That must be such a hard decision!
    @angelachase: I am super jealous! 21 weeks over here and still havent felt much.

    Y'all, I am trying so hard to not be worries about the choroid plexus cysts...

  19. QBbride

    pomegranate / 3192 posts

    @simplyfelicity: don't worry!!! They are SO common and usually resolve themselves before the baby is born. I'm a NICU nurse and even when we see them on head ultrasounds, the neonatologists/pediatricians don't even bat an eyelid!!!

    @angelachase: good luck tomorrow! Can't wait to see a photo!! We were undecided going into the U/s too but as soon as I saw the baby I wanted to know haha!

    @Tidybee: that's how I felt, I wasn't able to "un-know" the information! That's why I was hesitant at first.

    @QBbride: ugh that's me tonight worst
    @simplyfelicity: yes they are super common and usually resolve! Try not to worry too much (but I know it's hard! Lo had a lot of weird bowel stuff on the anatomy scan last time and I was totally losing my shiz)

    @angelachase: update us!! Lol

    @sugarbee: that would be super annoying. I can't stand that kind of thing!

    I'm going to go back and catch up with everyone in a bit! I just got out of my anatomy scan. Baby is definitely a girl, but she is teeny tiny (12th percentile) and they caught a possible heart arrythmia, so I am being referred to high risk/maternal fetal medicine for them to take a look and check it out. I don't think I'll breathe til I know everything is ok.

    Anatomy scan went great, everything looks healthy & normal, baby's gender is written down in an envelope in DH's pocket! Baby was wiggly as ever and it was so strange to see it kicking on the screen and feel it in my belly at the same time.

    Here's a pic of baby in the middle of a big yawn!

    @simplyfelicity: I try to remind myself that if the doctor isn't worried, then I shouldn't worry. And definitely don't Google! Hugs!

    @Candy_nee: I take it your mom won't be in town next Wednesday? Sorry the weather impacted your anatomy scan

    @Tidybee: Crazy as it sounds, my little guy had a side profile of his business available for us to see this time around. But last time, for baby #1, it was the bum shot that gave it away!

    @sugarbee: That would totally piss me off too! Do they have a patient portal? I would hope they could generate emails to people who have appointments when the office is closed.

    @simplyfelicity: It's ok to be worried - but don't let it ruin your pregnancy joy. My first son had some issues with his kidneys that were flagged early in an ultrasound. We had to monitor it throughout the pregnancy, and have him looked at once he joined us in the world. But in the end, everything resolved itself. Just think, this knowledge while he's on the inside, will allow you to be super proactive right away should he need any extra attention when he's born. But I hope that it's all resolved by the time he's in your arms. Hugs!

    @QBbride: I can't even imagine functioning at that hour...oh wait, we'll have to once this baby is born Any chance you can adjust your schedule?

    @pearl: Hugs! Finding out these types of details when your little ones are on the inside is so hard. You want to do everything you can for them. Knowledge is power. So just focus on the fact that modern medicine allows us to detect these type of things earlier. And determine if the baby will need anything special right after they are born. But keep breathing, deeply, the baby needs your calm vibes of love to keep growing strong.

    @angelachase: Ahhh! A baby yawn!!! So cute...

    @QBbride: Thank you! Your personal experience has made me feel so much better. I just need to stop thinking!
    @fuzzypeaches: @sweetooth: @angelachase: @Mrs. Pickles: Thank you, ladies. No more google for me.

    @angelachase: That yawn is just about the cutest thing!

    It's crazy to think that, for some of us, the next time you will see baby is in person!

    @sugarbee: feeling your pain! But that's total crap they didn't call to let you know! At least my OB sent an automated message
    @simplyfelicity: do not Google them! They are nothing to worry about. My little guy is totally healthy (and super smart in my opinion) after our scare. Just look at them as a reason to see your little nugget again at your rescan! I know it's easy for me to say, but try not to stress.
    @sweetooth: no she lives in TN and I live in NC
    @pearl: how scary for you guys. Hopefully the specialist will be able to give you some answers.

    AFM - called my OB to reschedule (and they were open for a few hours - just not during my appt time damn it!) and got my anatomy scan moved to next Wednesday.

    @Candy_nee: That's a good way to think about it! Thank you. Ok, no more worrying.

    @fuzzypeaches: ugh that will be me tonight too. I'll be thinking of you slaving away too!!

    @pearl: that's scary! I hope everything is OK with your baby girl. Thats the good thing with modern medicine, any issues are picked up early and you can be followed closely if need be.

    @angelachase: are you going to open the envelope?! What's your gut feeling?

    @sweetooth: my work isn't very flexible with staffing but I might have to figure something out. Last time I stopped working nights at 32 weeks (stopped working at 35 weeks) so maybe I can do that again this time. I work really closely with my midwives so they see the toll shift work takes on our bodies!! Just trying to take it one shift at a time.

    @simplyfelicity: definitely no more google! Hugs!

    I forgot to mention I had my midwife appt yesterday. Nothing too exciting. BP was good. Baby was kicking up a storm, heartbeat was 155. Baby is indeed a girl! No concerns with my anatomy scan. The tech noted my placenta was low-lying (1.7cm from the os) but they said they wouldn't worry about getting another u/s (unless I want one) since it is sure to move up. I mentioned declining the diabetes screening and she wasn't the least bit concerned about it. In fact the Canadian Diabetes Association doesn't even frown on declining it haha! Next appt in 5 weeks.

    @QBbride: DH is willing to find out if we do something a little more special/celebratory. We are going to give the envelope to a bakery and have them do the cake with the blue or pink filling thing, and then make a special dinner and cut the cake after Kind of like a little gender reveal party for 2! I had very strongly thought boy since the beginning but now have been really second-guessing.

    @simplyfelicity: hang in there. I know it must be scary but like others said best to know now and be prepared when he arrives

    We had our scan Monday. Had and 1.5 wait to get in. So we didn't have enough time to finish it. I had to leave at 5:30 to get to the daycare in time to get DS. So I have to go back to finish it. But everything looks good. And it's still a boy
