July 2015 Mamas!

    Just got out and still a boy!
    They did find these cysts in his brain that are completely benign and usually resolve themselves before 28 weeks. Even if they don't resolve, they are not harmful or indicative of anything else on their own. So we need to come in for another scan. My placenta has moved a bit further but not as much, so that's another reason for the scan. All in all, a good scan! He was super active.

    @travelgirl1: glad you're finally feeling better!

    @ginabean3: congrats on your girl!

    @simplyfelicity: that sounds scary! It's good that they are benign, hopefully they won't even show up on the next scan!

    @sweetooth: that's great about telling your boss. Now you can breathe a sigh of relief and look forward to the weekend!

    @edelweiss: I did! I have to admit I had been secretly hoping for another girl but strongly felt I was having a boy. It's taken me a few days to get used to the idea but am getting excited now!

    @simplyfelicity: Aw, yay for active babies!

    @simplyfelicity: they found the same thing on DS1 when I was pregnant with him. They resolved themselves by the rescan at 25 weeks and he's a healthy super smart almost 2 year old. Nothing to worry about!!

    @simplyfelicity: Good stuff on the scan. My MW mentioned that as a possibility as it was pretty common/not something to really worry about because it usually resolves itself.

    PS: RESULTS CAME BACK! No cancer so relieved!! Glad I can go back to just enjoying my pregnancy. Dr said she will check it again/monitor after I deliver.

    @simplyfelicity: i'm glad there's nothing to worry about, although it must have been a little scary when they first say "cysts" and "brain" in the same sentence.

    @simplyfelicity: scary but sounds like they were reassuring! @Reese: oh I'm so relieved to hear that! Finally you can relax!
    @sweetooth: what a weight off! I still have one more convo to go (but it's not someone I work with directly but it would be a good thing for me to tell her I think) and I'm still feeling so avoidant about it.

    Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!

    @Reese: So glad to hear your results came back clear! I work with cancer patients and unfortunately had experience with pregnant ladies, I'm so glad you won't be one of them!

    AFM, we had our anatomy scan on Thursday and are having a GIRL! I'm just tickled pink!! I went in at 18 weeks to the day (they said 18-20 weeks) and she is measuring a week behind, which makes sense as I think I ovulate late. The tech wasn't worried and was able to get all her measurements in under an hour.

    So exciting to be able to bond more and start coming up with names for her!

    @Mrs. Pickles: Congratulations!! Yay boys!!

    @bunnylove: Congratulations! Finally some little girls in this month haha

    @cait: we spent Valentine's Day chasing DS around a kids' museum, but I'm happy! I've been asking my husband literally for months to do something besides visit family - I think I enjoyed the trip more than both of the boys together

    @Chocoholic: I was nursing until about a month ago, LO was 19 months when I weaned him. I was starting to hate it and I too didn't want to tandem nurse!

    @Chocoholic: congratulations!!! I'd be nervous to tandem nurse too (although I know a few awesome people who do!) but LO weaned himself at 8 mo so im no help :s
