@78h2o: Mine's today too. I don't know if DH will be with me or not for it because of a crazy schedule today. This morning is LO's first day at a new preschool/daycare. He visited Friday and had a ball. This morning was a little tougher in general. The El was delayed too, so getting in was a struggle.

@Eko: Congratulations! Your mama intuition was correct!

I really haven't felt any kicks from this LO and it is making me so nervous. I do feel like movements and taps now and then, but nothing like with Julia. I started feeling kicks with her by 17.5 weeks and by 20 weeks, my husband could feel them, no problem. My husband said maybe the baby is sleeping all the time due to the Unisom I'm still taking. I tried not taking it one day last week, but was pretty sick, so I'm back to taking it. I see my OB tomorrow, so I'll see what she says.

@cascademom: Hope your son's first day goes well and that your husband gets to go with you to the scan. Mine is not until next Wednesday. I made it for 8am in hopes that my husband could go, but he is worried about being late for work. He said he will try to go now though I'm nervous.

Anatomy scan went well our little kiddo didn't want to stay still so we weren't able to get a great profile picture/ 3D pictures but may be able to go back. We got one of her flashing a peace sign with her little fingers so cute.

My little one was facing down or towards my back the whole time so I didn't get any face shots. Sad.

@Meltini: are you having any more ultrasounds where hopefully ur baby will cooperate and show their face?

  24. Meltini

    apricot / 495 posts

Yes, my doctor does one around 34 weeks so we will get another chance to see him/her!

  25. 78h2o

    grapefruit / 4441 posts

@Meltini: Oh, that's good that you'll have another shot of seeing baby! Bummer though that you didn't get a good view. My anatomy scan next week will be my last scan (unless the need arises), so I really hope baby cooperates.

I had an OB appointment this morning and the doctor didn't seem concerned about that fact that I haven't been feeling many kicks. She said that she heard her moving around during the heartbeat check. She basically said that what I experienced with Julia was really out of the norm, that usually strong kicks aren't felt so early. So hopefully everything is ok. I did feel the baby kick a little bit when I briefly laid on my stomach for a minute last night.

I also asked her about some pain I'd been having across the front of my pelvis. She really thought it was just stretching. So again, I will just try not to worry. Hopefully my scan will go well next week and that will give me some peace of mind.

Oh, and I tried to see if I could get a HbA1c test rather than do the glucose tolerance test, but she said there was no getting out of it. I passed last time, but felt awful and got a wicked migraine. She said she thinks is was because I didn't eat anything. She recommended that I eat a bunch of eggs 2 hours before so that the protein would help keep my blood sugar from dropping too low... so I will try that. I don't think I have to do it until 28 weeks though.

@Meltini: that's awesome that you will get another ultrasound at 34 weeks! I'm jealous at the practice I'm at, we only get a dating ultrasound in the beginning, and then the 20-week anatomy scan. That's it!

  27. cascademom

    coconut / 8861 posts

@78h2o: Do you know if your placenta is anterior or posterior? With LO, it was anterior. I didn't feel much until 20-22 weeks with him. With this munchkin, the placenta is posterior. I've felt kicks really early, way earlier than with LO. During my ultrasound yesterday, I could feel him kicking all around throughout. He's kicking me right now because I'm sitting down and just ate.

  28. 78h2o

    grapefruit / 4441 posts

@cascademom: No, I don't know where it is. The weird thing is that I felt this LO very early, so I assumed it was posterior. I can't remember exactly when I started feeling movement, maybe 9-12 weeks (?). I know it was early. It was just little flutters and taps. I know when I got my NT scan at 12 weeks, I could feel the movements as I was seeing them. I am still feeling small movements and taps, just no hard kicks or kicks that can be felt from the outside. With Julia, I could actually watch my stomach moving as early as 17.5 weeks, and my husband could feel kicks by 19-20 kicks. I haven't felt anything that hard yet, which is why I started worrying. I will definitely ask about the position of the placenta at the scan next week. How did your anatomy scan go?

  29. 78h2o

    grapefruit / 4441 posts

@hocuspocus: The first two pics are adorable. The third is totally creepy!

  30. cascademom

    coconut / 8861 posts

@78h2o: My anatomy scan went really well. This LO is quite the kicker. He didn't want to cooperate with his head measurement, so the internal was a little longer than normal. I did this ultrasound solo. It wasn't so bad. I came home with lots of pics for DH.

Ack, I've been so MIA -- but loving all of these fun updates with ultrasound photos! Yay for all of these babies that look like babies and not lumps of (adorable) play-doh!

All of these ultrasound pictures are making me so anxious for mine! I still have to wait another 9 days! The countdown is on!

    @cascademom he's soo cute! That's a perfect shot

@78h2o that pic is totally creepy! The funny thing is this is the pic DH thinks she looks like him in hahah! I was having some weird pain in my pelvic area/up around my belly button. It lasted a couple days and now that I've had my scan I feel much better. I hope yours goes away soon, I know how it feels to worry.

@hocuspocus: @MrsBrewer: Aww, thanks. It took her awhile to get good hand shots because like his brother, he likes to put his hands in the fist position. With LO's ultrasounds, I have quite a few punching pictures. Since his placenta was anterior, he really took to punching it. This guy just likes to wriggle a lot. If I don't eat when I'm getting hungry, I get kicks. My boys are so opinionated!

Man, I hate to complain, but I am so sick of the nausea! Is anyone else still dealing with it?! The good news is that I have now gone two days without the Unisom. I feel gross, but haven't puked, and I've been feeling the baby move a lot more. So either she's just getting stronger, or I had been drugging her (poor thing)! I am enjoying all of the little taps and kicks, and hoping for some bigger ones soon. My DH has never been into feeling the baby kick (lame), but I know my daughter will be excited about it!

Is anyone planning to get maternity photos? Newborn photos? I honestly think I booked Julia's newborn photos around this time in my pregnancy with her... I chose a super busy photographer and it was necessary to book really early. The photographer just moved out of state, so now I need to find someone new!

I didn't do maternity photos last time, but knowing this is likely my last pregnancy, I think I might have some done, even if they are inexpensive. I'm thinking I probably would like to get them done soon, maybe around 24-28 weeks (?) because last time I was pretty swollen by the third tri.

@78h2o: I get occasional nausea if I don't eat enough or wait too long after dropping off LO and getting into work. I'm not doing maternity photos this time. I'm hoping to do newborn and family photos though hopefully with our family photographer. I still haven't pulled the trigger on looking into other local photographers. I'd love for her to come to our neighborhood and do a day long session or something like that.

@78h2o: Yes, still nauseated unfortunately. I read somewhere that someone wasn't feeling much movement, stopped taking Diclegis and felt tons of movement. I take Diclegis 4x a day and I don't feel much movement. Maybe I need to wean myself off of it, but I still need it so its a catch 22. ETA: the midwife asked if I'm regularly feeling movement like I was supposed to be and I was like um, no.... Then she used the Doppler so I knew she was still alive and well, but im almost 20 weeks. I also have an anterior placenta so that might be causing me to feel less.

These latest anatomy scan pictures are gorgeous! So excited everyone is having these apts! We have another anatomy scan Friday to see baby girl's brain since they couldn't see it at 18 weeks two weeks ago.
