@dc yoga bee: yeah, I have been weaning myself off. I am definitely feeling more than I was yesterday, which was still within the half life of my last dose... so I am thinking that it was affecting baby's activity. Although, when I got my NT scan, they commented that baby was super active, and I was taking it 4x per day at that point. So who knows... it could also just be that she is getting bigger/stronger.
I can't decide if I will take it again tonight. I really want to get off it, but the all day nausea sucks. I was totally over the nausea by this point with Julia. Blech.
@dc yoga bee: @cascademom: I am sorry you both are still having nausea, though I'm glad to know I'm not the only one.
@dc yoga bee: That's kind of cool that you get to go back and see baby again!
I'm excited/super nervous for my scan next week.

@78h2o: I am sorry you are still not feeling well! That is a bummer. Glad though that you got to feel some movements! We are looking into doing some maternity and/or newborn photos. Depending on cost we may do one and not the other. DH thinks it might be nice to have some maternity photos, so we are checking it out.

@78h2o: your right! At my NT scan I was doper up on Zofran and Diclegis and she was doing flips. At my anatomy scan she was active but pretty chill. Who knows. How are you weaning? Skipping a dose? Doing half at bedtime? I think I need my nighttime dose because I have to ride the metro or drive in the mornings.
grapefruit / 4441 posts
@dc yoga bee: I first dropped the morning dose, then the afternoon dose, then reduced the evening dose. I've only been taking about 1/3 of a 25mg tab at night for the last week. Definitely more nausea, but mostly manageable... I've only gotten sick a few times. I think I'm going to go another day or two without and see if my body adjusts. If I'm still feeling nauseous, I'm going to go back to just that night dose.

@78h2o: If it makes you feel any better, my buddy is married to the head nicu nurse at a major research hospital with 25yrs experience. She told me that the nausea and vomiting are good! She said it is a sign the body is holding onto the pregnancy. I gave her a deer in headlights look, but I'll take what I can get... I guess lol!

Ugh - I feel so removed from our thread lately! Work must have changed their internet permissions over the new year because I can't get on at work anymore so it is so much harder to post regularly.
Sorry to hear that some of you are still dealing with nausea but loving seeing the anatomy scan photos. Mine isn't until the 26th.
I had a scarey weekend last weekend. I had some bright red bleeding on Friday evening which turned into mild to moderate cramps all weekend. The NP said it might be the beginnings of a miscarriage (which at 18 weeks they can't really do anything about) or could just be from all the stretching and growth. I couldn't go in until Monday morning (the next time the office was open) to make sure everything was ok.
Thankfully baby girl was moving around like crazy in there (even though I still can't feel her - it is so odd to see her moving on the screen and not be able to feel it!) and looked great! She even waved at us to let us know she's doing fine!

Anyone have names picked out yet? We're 99% sure our little girl is going to be Elizabeth (Ellie) Grace.

@Mrs.KMM: We have some ideas but haven't discussed names at length like we did with LO.

@Mrs.KMM: I'm so so glad everything is okay! And I love her waving reassurance! We are 90% sure she is Ella "Ellie" Joann!

@78h2o: We are hiring a birth photographer, so I feel like that's kind of everything together in one. She'll be with us during early labor, and she stay for several hours after the baby is born. We will have her come back to do newborn shots also for a birth announcement.
I'm sorry you're still sick!

@Mrs.KMM: I'm glad everything is okay! My gosh, I cannot imagine how stressful that was! No names for us, but we haven't had our anatomy scan yet either. Ha! We are thinking we'll keep the name a secret, so that we don't have to listen to people's (my mother) opinions on what they think of the name/what we should have picked for months.
coconut / 8854 posts
@MamaB: we are doing the same thing, although we are team green too! We aren't telling anyone the names we have picked out. We don't want anyone's opinions to sway our judgement at all!

DS didn't have a name until our last day at the hospital so I am determined to have a girl name and a boy name finalized before we go to the hospital.

@Mrs.KMM: I am really happy to hear that everything worked out and that she got to wave at you! That's really neat.
We went the traditional route on names and our sons name will most definitely be William (Will) Paul.
grapefruit / 4355 posts
@dc yoga bee: haha! I love that we both have the nickname Ellie from two different first names!
grapefruit / 4441 posts
@MamaB: I think having a birth photographer sounds awesome. We won't tell anyone IRL the name until she is born, though we will probably tell immediate family the names at the top of our list and get their options.
@dc yoga bee: @Mrs.KMM: Aww, Ellie is a cute nickname!
@Mrs.KMM: Your weekend sounds so scary! I'm so glad that it looks like everything is okay with baby. You must have been so relieved. I'm sorry you went through that.
@Eko: William (Will) was high on our list if baby had been a boy. I think it was between Andrew and William.
@Meltini: Yeah, we didn't decide on Julia's name until hours before we left the hospital. We were torn between Holly and Julia. There was one nurse who kept hounding me for the name so that she could complete the paperwork. It was really stressful and affected my sleep! I really hope we can figure out a name before then, though we're having a really hard time!

Little miss with be Quinn (middle name TBD) - considering Josephine or Sadie.
apricot / 495 posts
@LindsayInNY: Quinn Josephine is lovely and rolls off the tongue nicely!

Quinn Josephine! I have a friend who named her son Quinlan who goes by Quinn.
grapefruit / 4441 posts
Quinn Josephine is my vote as well. I have always liked the name Quinn since I watched a cheesy Disney movie (Santa Paws) with Quinn as the main character. I think she sometimes went by Quinnie, which I thought was cute.

@Mrs.KMM: scary! So glad everything is okay and the baby waved at you.
No names yet. Feeling overwhelmed having to pick a boy and girl name. They have to be spanish/English first name and Japanese middle name that starts with a K for the boy and S for the girl. Too much we put on ourselves. we picked a name for ds so easily but this time not so much.
@LindsayInNY: another vote for Quinn Josephine over here!
@dc yoga bee: @78h2o: man I am bummed for you his that you are still sick ! I really and truly jope it completely goes away soon!
I am thinking of doing newborn shots and thats it. No maternity pictures because I am nervous about how big I might get.
Love all these ultrasounds and great anatomy scans! I'm done with my vacation so not so easy to come on and get in on the conversation since everything is from my phone

Josephine might win! It's on both sides of the family - DH has a Josephine somewhere and I have a bunch of Joseph's. We have a Sadie on my side but only considered it after he said "chicka chicka Quinn Sadie" - like Eminem "My Name Is" style, LOL. He also really likes Grace but we're saving that one for later - maybe Grace Ann if there's a #2 girl?
ETA: Does it matter if the full name would be Quinn Josephine J---son? Like a really popular MAGIC last name. Please tell me someone will get that otherwise I'm just lame, LOL.
nectarine / 2031 posts
@LindsayInNY: well I was contemplating Celina Sanai..I think thats more rhyme-y? So I dont think its too much. Maybe if Josephine was her first name but with Quinn as the first it just rolls.
grapefruit / 4441 posts
@BabyMats: Thank you. I really hope it goes away too. At least it's not as bad as it could be... I know there are women who have to be hospitalized for it on and off until the end.
@LindsayInNY: I think it works pretty well, but admit I don't love the alliteration. I'm running into similar problems with "L" first names because the middle name has to be Dana or Louise, and Louise goes best with most first names we like. Anyway, I still like Josephine and one thing to keep in mind is that if she marries, she might take a different last name. It's likely she could only have the J last name for 1/4 or 1/3 of her life!
Are there any other names you like for the middle. I personally don't care for the flow of Quinn Sadie, though that's really funny re: the Eminem reference.
bananas / 9229 posts
@78h2o: So true! DH is Jason Jay J---son so alliteration doesn't really phase us Middle names are tough without any ideas!
grapefruit / 4770 posts
@LindsayInNY: I lol at the eminem reference!!
I just told one of my coworkers I'm close with we like Ellie, and she frowned her face up
apricot / 373 posts
@dc yoga bee I love the name Ellie!
@lindsayinny Quinn Josephine sounds perfect together.
We're pretty sure baby girl is going to be Lennan Rose. We were torn between Lennan and Parker. Still trying to find the perfect girly middle name to go with Lennan. Girl names are so difficult!
Anyone heard of or tried hypno birthing/hypnobabies classes? I've heard good things about both but the classes are so expensive!
bananas / 9229 posts
@dc yoga bee: I figured I could hashtag everything with #chickachickquinnsadie LOL! And boo to your coworker. It's not her LO so who cares if she likes the name!
@hocuspocus: I like both of those first names!! I feel like everyone either has a "set" first or middle and then the other one is tougher to come up with.
I've heard of hypnobirth. A barre instructor I know just had a natural birth and took those classes. I've been leaning Bradley Method myself. I think @dc yoga bee: was looking into hypno classes?
apricot / 373 posts
The hypnobabies classes look really serious/intense idk if I can picture DH sitting through a 3 hr course lol. It's kinda weird but everyone swears by it. I was considering the Bradley method also...that's the route DH wants to go.
grapefruit / 4770 posts
@hocuspocus: I actually need to book something soon. I looked into hypnobirth are the suggestion of my midwife but it may be a bit too granola for me. Like I don't think I could believe in it myself. I need to look into Bradley. There are so many options.
Yall I just ordered my breast pump through insurance. It was the easiest thing to do. I wanted to give myself plenty of time since you never know with insurance. I'm not even sure I want to breastfeed, but just in case I do. It's the Ameda Purely Yours Double Electric and they supply me with free milk storage bags for a year! I feel like we should nail down gliders soon since they take 10 weeks to come in.
coconut / 8861 posts
@LindsayInNY: @hocuspocus: @dc yoga bee: Interesting with hypno birthing. I've known some friends who have done the Bradley method. They seemed to like it. With LO, I had a medicated birth. I'm hoping for the same with this LO.
pomelo / 5258 posts
@hocuspocus: I had a natural (long) labor/birth with LO1. I didn't take a special class but I had a doula. In my case I'm sure a doula was more helpful than a class but every labor differs.
I didn't do the hypnobabies program but when I was exploring class options I downloaded the tracks. I found them extremely helpful for sleeping 3rd trimester. So relaxing I never stayed awake listening more than 5 minutes even if I tried. I hoped they might have some calming effect since the tracks say they work even if you're asleep but I don't think it had any impact on labor. I don't say that to discredit the program, I didn't take the class or do the homework.
grapefruit / 4770 posts
@cascademom: do you mean medicated as in an epidural. If I'm planning on an epidural does that mean I don't need the bradley birth classes?
coconut / 8861 posts
@dc yoga bee: I had an epidural with LO. I'm not entirely sure on that with the Bradley classes because I didn't pursue that when I had LO. I would someone whose done the classes and what their philosophy is on epidural.
bananas / 9229 posts
@dc yoga bee: I didn't know you could get pumps this early!!
As for epidurals and Bradley Method, my understanding is that Bradley Method prepares you for an unmedicated birth. I have heard of people taking a hospital class too to prepare them for medicated, if they change their mind or circumstances change. If you are mostly pro-epidural, I don't think Bradley classes are the best choice for you.
