AHH. A friend gave me a lindt chocolate bar on Friday and I put it on the counter in the kitchen. I went to have a piece just now and it was GONE. Found the wrapper in my husband's garbage can (in his office). He ate the ENTIRE thing. Most likely yesterday since I almost opened it on Saturday but decided to eat something healthy at that moment instead. I practically have steam coming out of my ears. At the same time my rational side is telling me that I'm being full on crazy pregnant lady. For that one reason, I haven't called him up at work to flip out.
(ok hopefully now that I've typed that, I can calm down....)

@meadow: oh man!! I would seriously be pissed pregnant or not. Leave my chocolate alone!
In my first pregnancy DH ate my potato chips after a specifically said that I bought them for myself and not to share. He ate the whole bag in one night when I was at work! We still talk about that fight lol

@meadow: I would be really mad too! I would probably call dh and demand a replacement... But that's just me

@meadow: that would make me mad too! He should know better than to mess with any lady's choc never mind a pregnant one! Hope he sees the error in his way gracefully and then peace will be restored

@meadow: I'm not even kidding. I hide my food from my husband since he eats stuff late night. He'll finish my chocolate, my ice cream, you name it. I have the self control to ration a sweet treat over days, and he does not. Sorry, that's so annoying!

@Purpledaisy: @brownepiano: @MrsKRB: @Contemplating: @Alba4: Thanks all! Haha - you make me feel like I'm not out of my mind!
@Alba4: I ration my snacks too! It drives me nuts that he doesn't have similar self control. I have been hiding cookies lately because he'll eat a box of oreos in under a week by himself. I would not have been nearly as upset if he ate 1 or 2 of the squares, but the whole bar - come on!
@MrsKRB: That almost happened. Then I decided I'll wait until tonight to confront him and if knows what's good for him he'll come home tomorrow night with a new bar.

I know some people have been asking about baby movement. I've started to feel a lot lately! Especially when I drink coffee (haha) or when I am sitting down. It feels like little flicks from the inside and they are much lower than I remember with LO #1. You'll feel them soon if you aren't already!
Anyone else have crazy back pain by the end of the day? I was on my feet a decent amount today and my back is killing me.

@brownepiano: oh yes, the back pain!! It comes if I lay, sit or stand too long. I imagine it's only going to get worse

@brownepiano: awww yay!! That's so grateful about the movement!!
@brownepiano: @Purpledaisy: @MrsKRB: boo to back pain

@meadow: and this is why I hide my snacks. Dh and I had a conversation and I decided it was the only way. Also he has learned that if he finds my stash and eats it, that is grounds for an immediate grocery run (for him), so now he leaves my snacks alone.

@meadow: Hope, for your husband's sake, he refurnishes your chocolate bar! Dang men. I always enjoy finding snacks/sweets my husband doesn't like so I don't have to worry about him eating all of it, which can be a challenge in itself sometimes. ha!
@brownepiano: Yay for feeling your sweet baby! Yes to the back pain, oh my it hurts. Last night I slept with a heating pad most of the night. I did not know if it was normal or not, so I am glad to hear I am not the only one experiencing it.
Nothing new here. I am feeling a lot more movement every day & husband actually got to feel him the other morning. Baby is very active at night & in the morning.
Hope everyone is doing good.

@pastemoo: can't wait to see if you are having a girl!
@Alba4: you will love the snoogle!
@brownepiano: @MMcAlli: that's so great you are feeling the baby move a lot these days! I think I have been feeling movement for a week or so but I'm not 100% sure. I have an anterior placenta so I feel like it could take me a couple more weeks to know it's the baby for sure.
I finally told a few of my managers at work last week and they were really excited! I need to set up time with HR to figure out my maternity leave details. It seems complicated!
I'll be 20 weeks tomorrow; can't believe I'm at the halfway point already.
Hope everyone is doing well!

@MMcAlli: every time she starts to move and I get dh to feel, she stops. Without fail stubborn already haha.

I've just had a close friend from home visiting for the last week. She was able to join us at the scan... Had a full on preggy melt down at the airport so sad to see her go after such a special trip.
With all the sight seeing and walking I have also been having some back pain. I got some gel inserts for my shoes which seems to have helped. I have also noticed that my heart rate has been going high up to 140 just with walking, I have a fitbit that monitors it. Having to take more tests and slow down. Feeling tired after a busy week!
It also feels like my belly has popped! I am really stating to look pregnant now. I had to go on a bit of a shopping spree today... Needed more tips and pants for work. I think everyone at work tomorrow will be surprised I have tenitivly set my last day of work as the 3rd May so that they can post my position. So surreal!

@pastemoo: That's a pretty excellent deal!
@MMcAlli: That's amazing that the movement is so noticable to you that your husband can feel it too! My husband likes to touch my belly and say good night to the babies and I am so excited for the day when they can all interact
@starlitsky: One of mine has an anterior placenta - I think it will be fun to compare when/how I feel movement between the two of them as a result! Glad you're managers are reacting positively and you are starting to figure out how your leave will work!
@MrsKRB: such a tease!
@Contemplating: Yay for "popping"! I feel like my belly has grown so much in the past week!
Did tons of research yesterday on car seats/strollers/cribs and am feeling much more prepared to go to the store this weekend to begin registering WEEE!!!!

@meadow: I can't wait to start registering! I was planning on going this weekend, but are supposed to be hit with a big snow storm.

Tomorrow is a doctor appt, so Doppler check in! I'm ready for that since stilllll no movement over here!
So yesterday at work I had my first person confront me on being pregnant - guess that means I've turned a corner with the bump lol. I never made a formal announcement so only about 10 of 45 people know. This lady came and told me she's been wondering about me for about 2 weeks so she finally asked someone and it happened to be one of the people who knew so they confirmed for her it's not a secret, I'm just still kinda guarded about this pregnancy.

@MrsKRB: HAHA - good thing you mentioned that. I knew a storm was coming and separately planned to go to BBB. OOPS, that plan is probably not going to work for me either HAHA.
@runnerd: Have fun at your doctor appointment! So fun to hear the heartbeat through the doppler! Last week I recorded it on my phone and love being able to listen (even if its not live) whenever I'd like
cherry / 154 posts
@MrsKRB: That's too funny. I'm sure in a few more weeks your husband will be able to catch her in action. Yay for reaching the halfway point! I'm right behind you.
@Contemplating: Love a good shopping spree.
@meadow: I'm sure in a few more weeks your husband will be able to feel those sweet babies. I have been doing tons of research too & plan on registering this weekend. There's just so much out there, it's overwhelming.
@runnerd: Hope everything goes good at the doctor today!
I guess I've "popped" because I've been getting a lot of "OMG are you pregnant" sometimes I have fun & say no. I feel like people take a risk when they ask that anyways. It is nice to know I am starting to look pregnant rather than just chunky/bloated.
Hope everyone has a good day & stays warm!

Ultrasound was this morning, and it's a boy! So, sorry to mess up your early-month girls. I was hoping for a girl, but having two boys will be fun. Actually all our friends have boys so it is just another one for the gang.
The tech was pretty impressed with the baby and just kept taking pictures for us! Waiting till 20 weeks to go in definitely paid off. I am going to put together a picture announcement today or tomorrow, cause we actually haven't put anything on social media yet. We planned a mini gender-reveal party with our close friends for tomorrow, so I'm still trying to figure out how to do that.
I'm definitely showing, but I think most people can't tell because it is winter so I'm always bundled up. If it were summer that'd be a whole different story!

@brownepiano: What a great picture! Congratulations on finding out it's a boy! Hope your announcements goes great!

I'm actually going to update this, cause my due date is actually June 7th. I thought it would be the 6th, and the dr's didn't agree. I haven't really felt like changing it, but I look at this so often it is getting confusing!

@brownepiano: Congrats on your boy! Having brothers will be so much fun!
Thanks to @MrsKRB: and @brownepiano: for updating our list! Just a thought, do you think we could add in what number child it is for everyone? I can never remember who is a FTM and who already has a baby! I'm happy to do so if everyone wants to comment and say what number baby this is for them
I've still been quiet over here as there's not much to report. I'm 18w1d now and all seems to be calm. I thought I was starting to feel slight movement last week but haven't felt anything in several days now. I do have an anterior placenta (same as with DD1), and remember it was about 23 weeks before I felt her, so I'm trying not worry about it and am chalking the earlier movement up to gas/digestion!
My 20 week scan is on the 9th of Feb and I'm not sure I'll see my midwife before then (I had to miss my 16 week appt due to being out of town and haven't had my next appointment scheduled yet), so if not, that will be my first time seeing/hearing baby since my NT scan at 12 weeks! Such a long wait.....
ETA: I just realised I never updated my due date on our list either! My NT scan moved my due date to the 22nd of June, although I think that's a biological impossibility and the 25th would be the earliest, but alas, it's how I measured and what they're going with, so, so be it! DD1's birthday is the 21st of June and I will be trying my hardest to keep them from sharing a birthday! A week apart, minimum, would be ideal...

@brownepiano: Congrats! I think there are a few of us that are moms of sons only!
I have my anatomy scan next week. I've been feeling regular kicks/punches for 2 weeks (I'm 17 weeks), which gives me peace of mind amongst all the craziness of this pregnancy.

popping in-- the Toys R Us Trade in Event starts on the 1st of Feb!!
I'm planning to cart our old pack and play (it was 2nd hand and we never used it) one of our 2nd hand exersaucers and our old infant seat down to get coupons to use for a new carseat.. I'm not sure yet what I'll do with the other coupons!

@MMcAlli: Yay for feeling like you popped! I looked in the mirror today and felt like I look like a tank! hahahah. I measuring over 20 weeks so I guess I'm normal for that. I just feel like in the last week I really grew. Even over night I feel like I grew!!
@brownepiano: congrats on your boy! Yay
@Ree723: I like the idea - I have trouble remembering too! This is my first pregnancy I can't believe you're going 8 weeks without anything - wow! I would be going bonkers
@Alba4: Oh punches - how wonderful I'm jealous
Halfway to full term for twins tomorrow - crazy. So next Friday is the latest possible halfway point for me. Crazy! Convinced my husband we should go to BBB tomorrow after work (maybe we grab dinner out before we go!) so we can still start registering before the storm. I'm pretty excited! I know I'll still be mega overwhelmed, but I'm excited nonetheless.
I ordered a couple more shirts last week online and am feeling much happier about my morning choices now. In retrospect - its probably silly to buy clothes that I'm going to wear for like 4 months...but I will make me happy and I'm a sale shopper anyway.

ETA - sorry for the emoticons - I look like I'm 17 years old. HAHA.. Oh well!

@meadow: It's ok to be a teenager sometimes!
Also you will wear some of it postpartum, I always forget that, but the first few months I just wanted my comfy maternity stuff.
@Mrs. Pink: Thanks for the info!
@brownepiano: Yay for your boy!
@MMcAlli: Isn't it funny when suddenly everyone is like... OH! You're PREGNANT!
Had the ultrasound this week, heart and brain look good, arms and legs look good. I thought it was odd that they didn't point out any other organs and the pics they printed are mostly pretty terrible. I wanted to take a video of the heart pumping but I wasn't prepared with my phone out.
DH found out, and is trying to hard to not tell me.
My inclination this time is girl. Last time it was also girl but I was wrong--so who knows. I'm still betting on girl.
I can see baby move from outside (like, when I sit really still, you can see it, but my 3 year old wouldn't be able to see the movement. It's small.

Hi!
Not much to report here! I have been feeling movement! I'm 17 weeks
@ree723 this is my second
We find out in 13 days what we are having! And DH can come to the ultrasound so we will find out right then this time. I'm still thinking boy, most of my friends say they think girl.

@meadow: that's exciting know you are almost your latest point!
Got my Doppler check-in yesterday so that was good! And I finally am feeling some early movement as of yesterday - little weird taps/bumps from the inside that are exactly how it felt with my first and almost same timeline (18/19 week for first movements
We got 7" of snow today! That happens about once every 4 years around here lol

@MrsKRB: I'm a lot more OK with it now than I thought I would be. I'm enjoying it. He isn't pestering me about guessing/knowing anymore, and I'm not concerned about being disappointed.

@brownepiano: congrats on your boy!!
@meadow: did you get to BBB before the storm? which car seat and stroller did you decide on? Keep us updated on movement and whether you feel a difference with the anterior placenta!
@Ree723: this is baby #1 for me! I'm kinda second guessing feeling movement too, due to my anterior placenta. I read that with anterior placentas, sometimes the blood pumping to the placenta can feel like movement. Hopefully we'll feel real, unmistakable baby movement soon!
Had an appt today and the dr confirmed everything from our anatomy scan last week looked good. Also got to see the baby moving around quite a bit, so cute! Didn't get any good pics though.
Happy Friday mamas!
