@Lately: congrats on your boy! I'm the opposite, I was actually upset that I didn't have a little penis inside me (hahaha). Boys are great, he's going to love you so much!

So many boys in this thread! I find out in just over 3 weeks. I think I'll be joining the "little penis in me" gang.

@MrsKRB: thanks for the tip on the bra. I will order one to try out
@Lately: HAHAHAHA I literally LOLed at your little penis comment. OMG that was so great....and of course I started thinking all sorts of silly things in my head. SO happy that others capitalized on this as well Awesome! Congrats on baby boy

Yay on more & more of us finding out the gender of these precious babies! Slowly girls are catching up to the boys.
Congratulations to all of you & can't wait to hear from those who have not found out yet. Kudos to those who are staying strong & sticking to Team Green, so awesome!
One minute it feels like this pregnancy is going to take forever & then the next minute I realize I am almost halfway through. Seems like yesterday I got my positive pregnancy test & joined this group.

@Contemplating: congrats! Love that little foot!
This girl boy pattern we have going on is pretty wild!

Thanks everyone! We are so excited!
The pattern is very interesting! Was anyone trying for a specific gender? I was wondering if any of the techniques worked, my parents apparently used the girl sperm swim slower and live longer boys move fast but for fast when they tried for me, I have an older brother and they wanted a girl second. If I apply the theory to my pregnancy it would be true, we BD about 2 days before I ovulated... Just interested if it worked for anyone else? I would love one of each so next time we might try use this theory to influence a boy.
coconut / 8483 posts
@Contemplating: we weren't trying for anything specific. But the last time we bd was the day I got my positive OPK. I think inoculated the next day or so?
coffee bean / 33 posts
@Mrs. Champagne: well then if the thoery is true may be you won't be joining the little penis in me group. For a boy you need to BD on or after the day of ovulation 3 more weeks till you find out!
Lol, I doubt it is 100% all the time, just interested if it fits our trends
nectarine / 2951 posts
We definitely did bd either the day before or the day of ovulation for both my boys. That book Taking Charge of your Fertility says the same thing about girl vs boy sperm.

@catomd00: oh no I'm sorry! I was laughing myself for like 15 minutes so I'm glad somebody else found it funny... sometimes I never know with my sense of humor.
I can't help with input about timing. We'd been ttc for so long the week the entire week of possible ovulation was BD-ing as much as possible...
As far as team greening this pregnancy. My 20 week (well 19) is Feb 1st. And I decided to make up my mind by then. I either cave or don't cave. And what ever I decide is for the rest of the pregnancy. So we'll see how the next two weeks go!

@MMcAlli: I SOO agree about time going fast and slow at the same time!
@Contemplating: Trying for a specific gender...hmmm...I guess our embryologist picked for us! Haha.....I think I first read about those methods a couple months into trying and considered it momentarily, then realized I wasn't willing to "give up" a month by abstaining certain days to try for a gender even though I had a preference for our first child. It is interesting though!
Has anyone read the Jenny McCarthy "Belly Laughs" book? I was gifted a copy of the weekend and read a bunch of it already and it is quite funny! Definitely a nice change to the more serious baby reads I've done or things I've researched online.

@Alba4: I'm so sorry about all your bleeding. It's so scary! I'm glad your docs are taking good care of you and watching it closely. I'm sorry you are on modified bedrest. I had 3 days in bed with my first bleed and I couldn't stand it. I'm not a person who can be still that much. But, its for a good purpose which makes it worth it. Still sucks though
I also started bleeding again last Friday. Luckily it is brown this time and is just barely heavier than only when wiping. But it has been constant for 7 days now. Mine is from a SCH (subchorionic hemorrhage) not a placenta previa. My doctors aren't worried at all and aren't doing any follow up or anything. But I understand their reasoning - there isn't much they can do about it anyways. But after 3 miscarriages it is freaking me out. SCH can cause miscarriages, stillbirths, and preterm deliveries. I had a dream when I was about 6 weeks pregnant that I delivered this baby around 33 weeks (my son was born at 42 weeks- so 33 is crazy early, my whole family gestates for a LONG time). So now I'm worried that dream will come true. But in my dream baby was healthy for a 33 weeker. I was really hoping to not have a NICU baby this time (my son was in NICU for 4 or 5 days).
I had my 16 week appt today and everything is still going good otherwise. My 20 week appt and anatomy scan is Feb 12. I guess we will see then if the SCH has grown, shrunk, or stayed the same at that point.
I still haven't felt any movement. I'm looking forward to that soon. I felt that at 17 weeks last time, so SOON I hope!

@Dr. Pepper: so scary! I'm glad you are doing ok and baby is doing well too.
pear / 1593 posts
@Dr. Pepper: man sorry you are spotting again, all the rationalizing in the world doesn't do much to stop the worrying. My full term baby was in the NICU for 6 days last time, so I'm with you on hoping to avoid that this time!!
I'm still waiting for movement! I was hoping to feel something by now since it's my second - I'm letting my worries creep in waiting for it!

@Dr. Pepper: The SCH would freak me out too. I'm glad your rational side gets why the doctor's aren't worried. Sending you strength to stay calm about it!
@runnerd: @Dr. Pepper: I haven't felt any more movement since the weekend ... so part of me is now doubting if I really felt something special.
I wrote up my letter for my employer with my anticipated maternity leave. I am planning to go to HR with it today and for some reason I am very nervous about doing so. It is such a weird feeling!

Had an appt today. Heart beat was 144 on the Doppler
16 weeks 1 day.

No news here, just reading along. Got a coat because I've been freezing. It's huge and super warm.
So much exciting girl/boy baby news!
My appt is next week, hoping to not find out then, my husband will read the envelope and tell me eventually, when i don't have an exam or a bad day.
Feel the baby move a few times a day now.

@pastemoo: so ready - kick baby kick!
In non-baby news, I'm getting haircut in a little bit. Guys - you have no idea how big a deal this is! I HATE paying for haircuts, and either get my stylist friend to do it once a year or get awful cuts at great clips. But I'm springing for a REAL salon - hoping she can make my mop into something pretty! I haven't had a haircut in 10 months!

@runnerd: I haven't gotten my hair done since March! I really need to though lol. DH was like is that your natural color now? It's so dark it looks like you dyed it brown lol!

@Mrs. Champagne: Yay! Great heartbeat
@runnerd: Hope you like what the stylist did...... do we get to see in a bump pic soon maybe?
@catomd00: I actually wussed out and decided I'd go down on Tuesday instead. Part of it was that I had a plan for when during the day I was going down to HR, then I got busy doing something and the director wasn't available later in the day. Tuesday for sure though. I set up an appointment.

@meadow: I'm always super nervous to tell my boss at work. I pretty much walk into his office and blurt it out because I don't know what else to do! My old boss was an unmarried man with no children, so that was really awkward. My new boss at least has a wife and one child.
I think I might have felt the tiniest movement once yesterday and once today. I can't tell for certain yet, but it has me excited!

@Dr. Pepper: I bet you did! Yay!
@Meadow: good luck
@Runnerd: Picture!
Oh, boo. Numb hands are back. Not excited about 20 weeks of this. I get it only when I write, do detailed hand stuff (assemble furniture with small tools), or grasp my phone too tight with both hands (when I do my daily quiz questions). Oh, boy.
Anyone else get this?

@Lately: LOL, DH announced similarly the first time, so funny. But who doesn't love a good penis joke?
@Alba4: how many days is the difference between girl and boy supposed to be?
@RKitty: haha, my fellow maybe-team-green
nectarine / 2951 posts
@pastemoo: According to TCOYF, to have a boy you should time intercourse on the day of or the day before ovulation. For a girl, 2-4 days before ovulation.
I'm finally going to order aSnoogle. I had a boppy last time and hated it. I already am starting to suffer from super sore hips and pins and needles in my legs, despite sleeping with a pillow between my legs. Time for a Snoogle!

@Alba4: interesting, that would make this baby a girl, it was 5 days before O (and O was early, per my chart).
