I guess I'll be the first one to post!
Location: Dallas, TX
EDD: 6/6/18
First child? Second - I have an 18 month old daughter.
Any symptoms? Zero.
Who have you told? Just DH. I woke him up early Tuesday morning waving a pregnancy test in his face lol. We'll tell immediate family if everything looks good at the first appointment.
Current thoughts/feelings/fears? So many. I'm was really anxious between finding out I was pregnant and my first appointment with my first pregnancy and I'm feeling the same way this time around. It's hard for me to believe it's real until I see that little heartbeat on the ultrasound.
I'm also terrified to tell family. My brother is getting married in Mexico two weeks after my due date so I have no idea how we'll handle that situation.

First child? Third. I have a 4 year old and a 1 year old.
Any symptoms? I was pretty nauseous this morning and I fell asleep so fast and didn't wake up to both kids crying last night which is odd since my husband never gets up with them because I always hear them first. I usually get sore boobs really early with my pregnancies, but I don't have that yet.
Who have you told? My husband and my doctor. We won't tell anyone else for quite a while because 1. I'm applying for a promotion at work and even though they can't hold it against me, I don't trust them to not hold it against me, and 2. we have had 4 miscarriages so until I know this one is successful (I have a really good feeling about it) I wont' tell anyone. I'll be 12 weeks at Thanksgiving that that would be a fun time to announce it I think- go around the table and say what we are all thankful for.... (especially since no one knows we are trying and they all think we are done at 2)
Current thoughts/feelings/fears? Scared. I usually don't post on the due date boards until we have heard/seen the heartbeat. I have a really good feeling about this one though. My hCG was 53.5 yesterday at 15 DPO and I'll go back Monday (in 4 days) to see what it is doing. My progesterone was 18.6 which is awesome for me. It was really weird that I didn't get a positive test until 14 DPO (usually I get positives from 9-12 DPO), so I think the hCG is kinda low because maybe baby was a late implanter.
My first two boys are June 12 and June 14 birthdays. So it would be fun to have a third June baby, but this one might end up being a May baby too. It would be awesome if I could hold out until 41 weeks and baby would be born June 13, ha! I don't know if they will let me go past my due date. My last baby was almost stillborn so we will being doing weekly and then bi-weekly NSTs and BPPs toward the end of this pregnancy and I doubt they let me go past my due date, but maybe if baby is looking really good they will! It would be a whole party week because my wedding anniversary is June 11, then the birthdays would be June 12, 13, 14. Probably not a possibility, but super fun to think about.
I really want a third baby, but I'm also scared to death about having three. I don't know how I will handle it. I have 2 hands, not 3! But luckily my oldest will be *almost* 5 when baby comes and he is pretty independent already. I have heard the transition to 3 is the hardest? I hope that isn't true.

@skinnycow: Do you think you would still plan to go to the wedding? Did your first come early, on time, or late? I would hate to miss my brother's wedding, but honestly- a baby is more important that one celebration and I hope they understand that. It doesn't mean you don't love and support your brother and his marriage.

So excited the June board has been posted!
EDD: 6/4/18
First child? Yes!
Any symptoms? Very sore breasts, frequent urination, and fatigue. My breasts seem to hurt the most while trying to fall asleep in bed.
Who have you told? My DH was in the bathroom with me when I got the BFP! We then told my parents later that same day, and plan to tell MIL and FIL this weekend. I also called my doctor's office to set up the first appointment.
We don't plan to tell anyone else until closer to 12 weeks.
Current thoughts/feelings/fears? I feel mostly excited and a bit surreal that I'm actually pregnant. I've always loved babies and young kids and knew I wanted a family, so I'm really looking forward to this journey and becoming a FTM!
My doctor wants to see me around 8 weeks so I have an appointment scheduled for 10/19. I asked if I could come in for hCG betas so I had my blood drawn on Tuesday and yesterday. My hCG level was 184 on Tuesday at 15 DPO and more than doubled to 513 yesterday at 17 DPO. My progesterone was 18.6 on Tuesday and 25 yesterday. The nurse told me they like to see the progesterone level over 20 so everything looks good. I can't wait until the first ultrasound to see and hear the little heartbeat!

@skinnycow: So excited to see you over here from the POAS thread! Congrats again! I'm sure your brother will understand that the timing might not work for you to attend the wedding if you're 2 weeks PP or 9+ months pregnant. I hope everything works out for you! Do you have your first doctor's appointment scheduled?
@Dr. Pepper: Congrats! I will also be 12 weeks around Thanksgiving and I think that'd be an awesome way to announce by telling everyone what you're most thankful for. We are also considering doing something similar around Thanksgiving, which is also near our wedding anniversary.
I really hope this is your sticky baby! Our progesterone levels were exactly the same at 15 DPO and I wish you good luck at your appointment on Monday! Have you scheduled your first ultrasound appointment yet?

@sunflowerbee: No appointment yet. Just another hCG on Monday. From there, if it is doubling appropriately (should have quadrupled by then since it is 4 days between blood draws- so above 200) then they usually have me come around 6 weeks for an ultrasound, which would be Oct 11 or after. I usually try to push for a little after because sometimes the heartbeat isn't there right at 6 weeks (especially if this one was a late implanter), but I'm also impatient so I will probably try to get one on Oct 13.
My OB practice doesn't normally see people until 12 weeks, so I love that they have you coming at 8 weeks. I think that is way better. People, especially the first time, have so many questions and 12 weeks is almost all the way through the first trimester!
Your hCG levels are awesome! I wish I could have done Wed/Fri ugh! Why couldn't my test have been positive faster! It is hard to be patient until Monday.

@Dr. Pepper: Congrats! Crazy that you could have all June babies.
I don't know what we'll do about the wedding. I'm leaning toward DH just going. My daughter came about 1.5 weeks early so it could be possible to go but I can't imagine feeling up to it.

@sunflowerbee: Congrats to you also! My first appointment is also 10/19.

@Dr. Pepper: FX that your levels quadruple on Monday! I agree that it's nice that my doctor's office wants women to come in at 8 weeks. I know I already asked the doctor a lot of questions when getting my blood work done for the betas.
@skinnycow: Thank you! That's exciting that we can count down to the same appointment day.

@Dr. Pepper: Good luck with your hCG draw!
How are you both feeling? I'm feeling 100% normal which kind of freaks me out.

@Dr. Pepper: Good luck today! Keep us posted!
@skinnycow: I still have the same 3 symptoms: sore boobs, can't stay up past 10 PM (I'm usually a night owl), and peeing more frequently than I usually do. Did you have symptoms early on with your other pregnancy? Maybe you're one of the lucky ones with very few 1st trimester symptoms!
pear / 1728 posts
I didn't have morning sickness with DD but I did have sore boobs pretty much immediately. DH joked that mine have already taken a beating from pregnancy/breastfeeding so they're immune lol. I have been peeing more frequently so I guess I have one symptom!
I took two tests this weekend to ease my anxiety and of course dark lines popped up right away.
cherry / 132 posts
@skinnycow: Haha I like your DH's comments. I asked my doctor if/when the sore boobs would go away when I went in for my hCG bloodwork and she was like "Well, they can continue straight through the rest of your pregnancy and through breastfeeding so...not for a while?"
I too take another Wondfo test on Saturday and the second test line was basically darker than the control line and reminded me of a positive OPK. It's definitely reassuring to see those dark lines appear!

@skinnycow: @sunflowerbee: Ugh. Level today was 144. Up from 53.5 four days ago. Which is a doubling time of 67 hours. This does not make me feel good. Going back on Wednesday.

@Dr. Pepper: I'm sorry you didn't get reassuring results. I hope you get goods news on Wednesday!

Still feeling mostly normal but OMG the bloat is out of control. I look 4 months pregnant after I eat a meal.
apricot / 461 posts
I'm out. Levels went down today. Only a little bit, but it is obviously not a viable pregnancy. It is either a early miscarriage or an ectopic. Based on my history, probably a early miscarriage. Rechecking on Friday to figure out our level of concern.
Sorry to be such a bummer on the beginning of this thread. I really really had such a good feeling about this one.
@skinnycow: @sunflowerbee: good luck and I hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months!

@Dr. Pepper: I am so, so sorry to hear this. Sending you *hugs.* Hopefully your doctor will be able to get you some more answers on Friday. Thank you for your kind wishes and I hope you'll have your sticky baby real soon!

@sunflowerbee: How are you doing? We need some more June moms to join us!
cherry / 132 posts
@skinnycow: We definitely need more June moms to join in! I'm doing well. Still the same 3 symptoms of sore boobs, peeing frequently, and general tiredness. I started researching some baby gear last night such as car seats and as a FTM, the sheer amount of options for each item are overwhelming! Do you have any tips or tricks on how you sorted through all the options and reviews to pick the best gear for your DD? Any recommendations on must have baby items?
I'm also counting down to our appointment date which is less than 2 weeks! How are you doing and feeling?
pear / 1728 posts
@sunflowerbee: I totally agree that it's overwhelming! I used the website Lucie's List to sort through gear options - she gives great advice and recommends products in all price ranges. Things I couldn't live without were the Rock N Play, a white noise machine, a swing, and those velcro swaddle wraps (I think SwaddleMe was the brand I used). If you're planning on breastfeeding definitely get a breastfeeding pillow. I used a Boppy which I liked but I've heard great things about My Breast Friend also. I have plenty more recommendations but those were my must haves for the first couple months.
I'm counting down for my appointment also. I'm still feeling normal other than extreme bloat and tiredness. I've been working a ton of overtime this week though, so that could be why.
cherry / 132 posts
@skinnycow: Thanks so much for the recommendations! I will totally take you up on any and all items you love, especially which types and brands for each. Feel free to share away! Haha What type of car seat did you use? Any recommendations on which Rock N Play and swing?
I do plan to breastfeed and have heard good things about the Boppy and My Brest Friend. I also just heard about the Boppy Best Latch which is a 2-sided pillow with a soft and firm side and seems pretty versatile and cool.
Working OT could definitely lead to tiredness. I was also watching videos this morning of what the first ultrasound looks like at 6-8 weeks. So excited to see our little one!
pear / 1728 posts
@sunflowerbee: For the carseat we bought a Chicco Keyfit. We loved it because the base is really easy to install and clicking the carrier in and out was a breeze. The only downside was the weight - I think the carrier weighed around 10lbs so before we switched DD to a convertible it was getting a little uncomfortable to carry. We got the Fisher Price Cradle 'n Swing and I have no complaints. DD basically lived in it for the first three months. She took all her naps in the swing and slept in the RNP at night. It does take up a significant amount of space though, if that's an issue for you. We got the Deluxe RNP (I think swayed?) but we never used that feature so the basic one would have been fine.
I can't wait for my ultrasound - seeing the little heartbeat is amazing!
cherry / 132 posts
@skinnycow: Thanks for the additional recs! I was researching the Chicco Keyfit last night. I was trying to decide between one of the Keyfit 30 or the new Fit2. The Fit2 has two modes for infant and toddler so you can use it up until 24 months, 35", or 35 lbs. I think the Keyfit weighs 9.6 lbs and the Fit2 weighs about 11-12 lbs so it's also on the heavier side. Did you use a Chicco frame stroller or travel system? If so, which one?
Thanks for the swing and RNP info! I haven't researched too much on those items yet. We're fortunate that space isn't an issue and I like how transportable the RNP is to move from room to room for naps or nighttime sleep.
pear / 1728 posts
@sunflowerbee: Oh I haven't heard of the Fit2! That would probably last you awhile. DD is just now hitting 35" and she's 18 months and in the 98% for height. We had to swtich her out of the Keyfit before she was one.
We didn't use a Chicco stroller. We use an Uppababy Cruz but used an adapter so the Keyfit would click in. Pretty much any stroller will have an adapter for the Chicco carriers!

First child? Yes!
Symptoms? Feels like all of them. Some nausea, continuous mild cramping, GIANT sore boobs with occasional stabby pains on top of the achiness, and I've had a headache pretty much since the day we conceived.
Who've you told? Just my husband so far. My family is far away so the plan is to try and tell them when we're all together at Thanksgiving. We live near my in laws so we'll probably tell them sooner, but it'll be less of a thing since there are 7 other grandkids on that side, and this will be the first for me and my sibs.
Thoughts/feelings/fears: Really anxious and feeling not ready, but also kind of excited? We hadn't planned to try until this month but on a whim decided to "start the clock" last month since we're in our 30s and assumed it would take some time. Didn't time intercourse or anything, but didn't prevent either with the hope that when we did start trying trying it would feel less weird than jumping in cold turkey after preventing for 15 years. But here I am two weeks later with a BFP. I know we're more prepared than say teenagers who fall pregnant, but I definitely wasn't quite ready, which is tough because my husband is totally thrilled, and I want to be, too, but in my head I'm thinking about how much more I wanted to save, and how I'm up for a promotion at work, and, and, and. I do recognize that I'm lucky to have an easy time of it, but I guess the grass is always greener.

@karenbme: Welcome and congrats!
I think a lot people have similar feelings with their first pregnancy. We also conceived our first very easily and I was in shock for the first few weeks. My husband was over the moon immediately but for some reason it took finding out the sex for me to feel more connected.
cherry / 132 posts
@karenbme: Welcome and congratulations! I'm a FTM too! It took us 3 months to conceive and although we were planning, tracking, and more than ready for it, it still came as a bit of a surprise that it had really happened and we were pregnant. I think that's why pregnancy is 9 months long so we can adjust to the idea and use the time to get prepared! Haha
@skinnycow: I wanted to thank you again for the rec on Lucie's List. I've been reading her registry guide all weekend and it's full of helpful information!

@skinnycow @sunflowerbee Thanks for the welcome, and for making me feel better about being anxious rather than 100% excited instantly. I know we have plenty of time to prepare, and I'm sure I'll get excited along the way.
I am really excited to see my Dad's reaction when I do tell him. He's been low key pushing for grandkids since I got married 5 years ago, and I'm sure he's going to be more excited than either my husband or me. I'm currently trying to work out a way to tell him that isn't just, "Dad, I'm pregnant," but I'm so bad at those sorts of things. I've thought about getting him like a mug or a t-shirt or something that says "Grandpa, est. 2018" but that feels kind of cheesy. I did see the suggestion above, but my family is a drinking family, so it needs to happen pretty much when we walk in the door to avoid tipping them off by not having a gin and tonic at cocktail hour. Do either of you have any suggestions?
PS - I realized I missed location on my first post. I live in Burlington, VT.
cherry / 132 posts
@karenbme: My DH and I were walking around our local Dollar Store and were looking through the book section. We found a book called "The Joyous Gift of Grandparents: Images of Life Celebrations." It's filled with cute pictures of babies and grandparents with quotes about being a grandparent. I thought it'd be the perfect gift to announce to both sets of parents! I wrapped the book, came up with a fake reason why we were giving each parent a present, and then watched in anticipation as they opened it. My parents made a joke about not looking as old as the people on the cover but quickly caught on. When we presented it to my in-laws, my FIL exclaimed "You're pregnant?!?" and jumped up excitedly. We thought it was a fun way to announce instead of just blurting out that we're expecting, haha.
A mug or a t-shirt sounds like a fun idea too! You could write him a message from the baby saying "I can't wait to meet you, Grandpa" and then include your due date. Or get something with the saying "Only the best Dads get promoted to Grandpa." I'm sure whichever way you announce, he'll be excited for you!

Hey everyone- My saga has not yet ended. As of last Wed, my hCG had dropped (from 144 on Monday to 127 on Wednesday), but on Friday it went up, so they thought I might have an ectopic pregnancy. So today (Monday) they had me come back for another hCG and ultrasound. The ultrasound did not find an ectopic pregnancy. It did find an intrauterine pregnancy that measured 5w4d (I would be 5w5d) but no fetal pole or yolk sac (but it could be too early for those to be in there). So things are looking better, although confusing. My hCG rose from 150 on Friday to 320 Monday (65 hr doubling time).
Last Thursday I told my husband I was holding out hope that maybe there had been 2 in there and now there was only 1 and that might be why the numbers went down on Wednesday. I thought I was being crazy. However, my ultrasound saw a corpus luteum on both of my ovaries- meaning they both released eggs. So my crazy scenario is a possibility.
However, a hCG of 320 at 26 DPO is crazy low, but according to betabase, it is entirely possible. It shows 6 successful pregnancies (out of 1322 total successful pregnancies) with a beta between 149-405 on 26 DPO.
So, long story short. I'm crazy and holding on to all hope that I might still be pregnant. The plan- repeat hCG again on Thursday this week, if rising still, an ultrasound next Thursday.
apricot / 461 posts
Also, the only symptom I have is constant low back pain. Which all weekend I thought was due to ectopic pregnancy. I am not nauseous (I wasn't with my first, I was with my second). No boob pain (Lots with my first, not much with my second, but still some).
cherry / 132 posts
@Dr. Pepper: That all sounds really promising! The fact that your hCG levels are increasing and they didn’t find an ecotopic pregnancy could point toward a vanishing twin. I hope your betas on Thursday go well and I’ll keep my fingers crossed and am sending good thoughts your way!
pear / 1728 posts
@Dr. Pepper: Oh man sorry this isn't straightforward but I'm glad there's still hope! Good luck!
