Hi everyone- looking forward to catching up you all. About me: I got my first BFP in April and at 6 weeks found out it was ectopic. I had an emergency salpingostomy to remove the pregnancy from my Fallopian tube. By some miracle, we were able to get pregnant again the first time I ovulated after the surgery, so here I am! Since I am at risk for a repeat ectopic, I had to get betas and an ultrasound to rule it out. My betas came back great and today they were able to confirm that this peanut is in the womb! This will be our first child.
EDD March 11th

Anyone else have to see an OB coordinator for the first visit? Everything I'm reading makes me think they're just going to talk to me and go over history, maybe draw blood, but probably no Doppler or u/s to check for heartbeat. I'm so disappointed about this. I'm really worried about an ectopic or MMC and I have to fly to Colorado 2 days after the appointment. I really wanted to know baby is healthy before so I can relax on the trip. I keep hoping I'm wrong and they'll do something more but I think I'm just setting up for disappointment...

@limabeanbabies: congrats! Great due date that's my bday
@Anya: congrats!
@MrsMccarthy: great betas!!
@drjolene: yes I saw the OBs nurse and it was all just for information and history. They don't even let anyone come in with you at my Drs for the first appointment. Because they ask all kinds of questions to make sure you are in a healthy safe home with no abuse or depression. The first appointment with the OB is where they get to the good stuff. I hope your DRs office is different.

@Anya: wow that is awesome for you! Congratulations and welcome!!!
@drjolene: I'm pretty sure my first appointment will be pretty lame also and providing no reassuring information. I'm super jealous of all the ladies getting betas and dating ultrasounds. I'll probably get the NT scan at 11 weeks and I'm assuming that will be the first time I'll actually get to see the baby. That scares the CRAP out of me. I'll try to hear the heartbeat myself at home before than but i know if I can't find it I'll be a wreck. I'm terrified of a MMC also. I think it's BS that they make us wait so long. You would think that they would want to check.

@MrsMccarthy: so glad you got good news!
@Anya: welcome! Glad everything is good with your little peanut.
We told my parents today and they are so excited! The conversation was really funny:
Me: so we have some news...
Mom: you're getting another cat?
Dad: I'm guessing another kind of animal...
Mom: you're expecting?!??
I have nieces and nephews but the youngest is 13 so this will be the newest kiddo in a long time!

@pinkb: thanks!
@Phillybaby2013: waiting blows! I couldn't do it! One nice thing about being older is we get a lot of things sooner. We do tend to go overdue though. The betas were because of the spotting and cramping.
@sapphire: aww how wonderful for them! In sure they only brought up the pets first because they didn't want to dream it was true!
I have already told a lot of people but they are all people I would tell about a loss too. It would be devastating to have to do so but I'm the type who needs to talk about things usually. I'm feeling really good about this pregnancy now though!
I peed on baking soda and got a girl result. I never tried it with my son though so I have no idea how it would have gone.

@Anya: Wheeeeee! I'm so excited for you. Love that our due dates are so close and I can imagine that your ultrasound is what my little bean looks like too! Thx for that
@Phillybaby2013: my doctor didn't go for the betas either... Rats. I get a dating u/s at 7 weeks because my cycle was so long. I know when I ovulated because I temped, but he didn't care to look at my chart. I'm thinking I'm going to find a new GP.
@sapphire: Awww! They must be super excited!

@Anya: Congratulations!! So thrilled that you were able to get pregnant again so quickly after the awful loss you went through. Fingers crossed it continues!!
Congrats to all March Mamas!

@Phillybaby2013: @pinkb: Glad to hear I'm not the only one. My poor husband, dealing with my crazy preggo mood swings, I came home crying yesterday over not knowing when I'll see the baby the first time. Now this morning, I feel like I was being overly emotional, though I do still wish I could get some reassurance that little bean is growing well.

I am right there with you guys. I have been able to maintain a pretty positive outlook but it freaks me out a bit that I am not really experiencing much in the way of symptoms. Just tired and stomach is a bit off. Haven't felt nausea in a couple days. I think we will (hopefully) see our jelly bean on our first appointment. I am going to call to verify, though.
Anyone else fairly symptom-less, too? I feel like I should feel more at 6 weeks...
nectarine / 2784 posts
@LIL BEAN: yay!! I have a feeling that our little ones planned this
@simplyfelicity: I actually have a cold right now so while a have a bunch of yucky symptoms, none of them are pregnancy related. I think symptoms usually start after 6 weeks, and maybe you are one of the lucky ones who feel good in the first tri!
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
@Anya: Thanks.:) I am trying so hard to focus on hope with this, especially after a loss but sometimes worries get the better of me. I appreciate it.
cherry / 166 posts
@simplyfelicity: I'm guilty of POAS this morning AGAIN! I'm into the 6th week as well. Sore boobs, nausea, and peeing all the time. BUT I'm using progesterone suppositories and so I'm not sure if any of my symptoms are actually side effects of prog? I'm reassuring myself that there's no bleeding and sticking to your mantra of "Today, I am pregnant!"
(Plus, the stick says I'm still pregnant, so that's good news!)
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
@LIL BEAN: Thank you! I didn't realize you are 6 weeks! Did I get your due date wrong on the roster? That's what I keep telling myself, that I am not bleeding. I do check EVERY time I go to the bathroom. I actually havent POAS since I got my . Probably would again if i had more.
I just need to chill and enjoy.
honeydew / 7295 posts
@simplyfelicity: Aw honey! I really think that although we all feel nervous in the beginning if you have experienced a loss it's that much harder. BIG HUGS I know SO many people who were virtually symptomless for ages. I too feel very worried sometimes when i have no symptoms. I think its' normal but i also think like you said worrying about it ( or not) wont change things. The vast majority of pregnancies go on to have healthy babies so the odds are very much in our favor. Also we all handle the hormones differently depending on our bodily chemistry.
@LIL BEAN: I have peed on a stick everyday since i found out. it's embarrassing but i have all these wondfo cheapees and it reassures me so WHY NOT? I am also still taking my temp. My wondfo this morning was so dark and yeah its silly but that made me happy.
Is anyone else having a heat wave where they live? We are expecting temps in the 95-100 range and its so brutal in the first tri. NOT THAT I AM COMPLAINING! I am so beyond grateful to be pregnant. It may have been from not weaning but those 7 months i spent trying really were eye opening. They gave me a perspective that I would never trade.
And my skin is so perfect now which gives me BOY vibes. Are any of you interested in a FB secret page for March? I had one for Sept with my son and I am still super close to the girls. It was really great. I'm gonna start one. PM me your facebook link if you want to join. It's totally secret and NO ONE can see your posts or that you have joined or join without being accepted or invited.

@MrsMccarthy: Thank you. I feel like a hypocrite because I have tried to reassure others about it, but I have my weak moments, too. It feels good to know I am not alone here.
honeydew / 7295 posts
@simplyfelicity: you are NOT a hypocrite. That's how it goes. One day we are Pollyanna and the next Negative Nancy. It actually could be a SYMPTOM!
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
@MrsMccarthy: As far as heat goes, Ummmm yes! I have heard it's been pretty bad in the Pacific Northwest. It's been like 106 etc here, but I live in Central Valley Ca, so it is kind of expected. Truth be told, I have always wanted to visit Portland. I know it's not like Portlandia but I am obsessed with that show and I just like to think that is how it is there.
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
@MrsMccarthy: Hahaha, you made my feel good. Pollyanna was one of my FAVORITE movies growing up.
honeydew / 7295 posts
@simplyfelicity: Um, It actually frighteningly IS like Portlandia! When I first visited here i was living in NYC. I lived there for 15 years and never thought i could live anywhere else. I came back in 2007 and I was just like Fred Armisen! I told all my friends "You guys there is a place where everyone owns a rcord player and rides their bike! they work at coffee shops, play in their band, tend their gardens and still live well within their means! The librarians have purple hair and the food! oh the food!" I really love it! Let me know if you ever visit and we can meet up!
Someone join my March group! I can't start it until i have a member aside from myself to invite. It's comepletly secret and unsearchable!

@MrsMccarthy: Oh my gosh, I freaking love that! Okay, let me figure out how to get the link to my facebook...

@simplyfelicity: SO lets play the Glad game! we will be glad we are pregnant!
cherry / 166 posts
@simplyfelicity: I'm getting mixed up. I'm 5weeks 3 days. But IN my sixth week? When I go on sites n apps to see "what's happening" in week 5 for fetal dev and my body, it talks about how I have just missed my period and can take a pregnancy test now! But that was last week. SO am I week 5 or week 6?!?!? Lol. As far as I know, my EDD IS 1 week after yours.
Sigh. Why do the little things stump me?
cherry / 166 posts
@simplyfelicity: @MrsMccarthy: Glad to be pregnant and only in first trimester in this summer heat!
cherry / 166 posts
@MrsMccarthy: I wanna join fb page!
Ummm... I don't know how to pm you---? Srsly. What the heck is the matter with me? Let's call it a preg symptom?
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
@MrsMccarthy: I want to play! Ok, I am glad that I am going to Lake Tahoe and Hawaii in the next couple weeks, I am glad I am pregnant, and I am glad for calves' foot jelly!
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
@LIL BEAN: I see! I just wanted to make sure I didn't have you down for the wrong day.
Eta: I get so mixed up with those. When I was 5 weeks, it kept saying, so you probably just found out you are pregnant. I was like...um no... haha. I don't know, maybe "normal" people wait until the 2 tri to POAS or something? I waited until the day AF was due and even that felt like forever.
honeydew / 7295 posts
@LIL BEAN: @simplyfelicity: I put a private message on both of your walls with the link to me
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
@MrsMccarthy: done! We need a nifty picture for the FB group of a four leaf clover or a baby in four leaf clovers or something!
honeydew / 7295 posts
you can also wall me your email or i can wall you if you are not GOld so it will be private!
@simplyfelicity: good idea! I just threw a cupcake up there because that is all i have but i will look around.
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
@MrsMccarthy: I posted a couple to the group page but I know that FB is weird about being able to copy and paste. What about one of these?
honeydew / 7295 posts
@simplyfelicity: love those! I put the first one in as cover because the four leaf clover was so big you couldn't tell what it was.
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
@MrsMccarthy: Sweet! I also didn't notice the water mark on it before, too
