just joined the site so I thought I would roll-call... I got my BFP on July 1!
Location: Upstate NY
EDD: 3/12/14
How far along: 6 weeks 1 day
First child? yes!! can't wait
First doctor appointment: I had an early ultrasound at 5w4d for dating purposes (I have very irregular periods, so I wanted to be sure! normally it wouldn't matter too much, but I'm getting married in less than 2 months (whoops!) so it would be nice to know for my final fitting coming up aug 7!
Any symptoms so far? Just tiredness, on and off mild nausea, some light cramping, today I seem to have flu like symptoms
Who have you told? My fiancé, my best friend/bridesmaid, and my mom and sister who is my maid of honor (after my first scan!)
So many changes at once- but SOOO excited!
ETA: I have another appointment Monday (at almost 7 weeks) to hopefully see the heartbeat via ultrasound!

Hungry and nauseated at the same time. Why??? Not complaining, just perplexed
honeydew / 7295 posts
@Anya: quite the conundrum huh? I remember when I was pregnant with my son ordering a tuna melt because I was craving it then it came and it made me so ill I couldn't touch it!
in my case I'm still feeling pretty OK. Exhaustion is the biggest thing with some very mild nausea and cramping. I'm having a pretty strong feeling that this is another Sweet boy.

Just wanted to share this positive affirmation picture. It's hard not to worry but I am trying to trust my body and , as cliche as it sounds, just take this pregnancy one say at a time and consider each day a small victory.

@HolisticMama: I am SO excited to see you here! Big time congrats! Glad to be on a due date board with you.

@simplyfelicity: that's lovely!
I'm officially feeling some nausea. It's very mild but dare I say I am happy to feel it because aside from exhaustion and a few twinges I was not feeling much.

And I am officially experiencing fatigue. Being on summer break, I've been able to have a nap in the afternoon the past few days. Today, I was busy running errands, then visiting my friend and her 3-week-old newborn (awwwwww), so I didn't get a chance to nap. It's 8:30pm and I'm falling asleep through Downton! This is crazy...
Is anyone here working through first trimester?! How are you managing?!

@simplyfelicity: it is VERY hard not to worry. I'm right there with you. Thank you for the day-to-day reminders that we just need to stay positive. I keep reminding myself that "Today, I am pregnant!" (Thanks to you) *hug*

@LIL BEAN: I'm exhausted! I worked through first Tri with my son and it was so hard. I had to tale a couple of personal days but I managed. This time it's managing with a toddler and a house to keep that's hard.
Pregnancy insomnia has kicked in and it sucks!!! I'm so tired but I can't sleep! I feel so on edge for no apparent reason.
So excited and so grateful to be pregnant though! Truly!

@MrsMccarthy: Is pregnancy insomnia a thing? Good! I thought I was going crazy. All week, up at 4am. But I'm soooo tired. Booooo!

@LIL BEAN: I'm working, although I was on vacation for the last two weeks, and it does get tiring. I also fell asleep around 8:30 last night, but I think that was partially due to getting used to the time change. During my first pregnancy fatigue was my biggest symptom. I was sooooo tired, I would get home from work, take a nap, eat dinner, and go to bed. Fortunately it got better by around 14 weeks, although I never got the elusive surge of energy during the second trimester.

@LIL BEAN: I'm working full time right now, and lemme tell you, some days have been rough. Like today. Today I haven't slept well and with the fatigue and nausea, it'll suck. Occasionally I give in to some black tea, but other than that, my wonderful DH just helps me out at home and puts up with my falling asleep on the sofa every night for 2 hours.

@simplyfelicity: I loved hitting 7 weeks! A raspberry or blueberry seems so much bigger than a grain of rice!

@lilbean: I'm working about 30 hrs/week and am so exhausted. I've come close to calling in sick or leaving early a few times but have stuck through it. If this pregnancy is like my last, I think I'll be feeling worse in the weeks to come. So I may want to save up those sick days!

@LIL BEAN: Yay!!! It makes me feel better when each week passes.

@LAZB: That's for sure! One of my apps says blueberry and the other says raspberry so I am going with raspberry because it's bigger.

@simplyfelicity thanks for posting that affirmation, love it!
I am working full time and have a 2 year old at home...the crazy fatigue of my first pregnancy hasn't hit yet, so we'll see what happens when it does! So far I am feeling generally good...long way to go (i hope)
Have a great day everyone!

@LIL BEAN: working full time... and chasing a 2 year old after I get home. My fatigue isn't as bad as my first pregnancy but I think I also have so much to do in the day- more dishes, laundry, playing with DD- I don't let it get to me as much. That being said, I'm in bed before 9 every night.

@LIL BEAN: I worked through the first trimester (in a school with behavioral children) of my first pregnancy no problem.
This time, I've got a toddler, and most days I'm not home for his nap (I work part-time) so I don't get to nap. And I'm sooo exhausted. We told my parents yesterday even though we're so early just because I'm going to need some help finding times to nap.
