@oskarsmommy: omg 151, I weight way more than you my dear. I started off 10 lbs. heavier too. I gained weight after my loss and then I gained from being on progesterone for five months. EKKK.... but honestly it is what it is. I just need to lose it once I have this baby. I kinda was not in a good place from the beginning in terms of weight. Plus with this pregnancy so far I have not been able work out or eat healthy. Any fruit or vegetable instantly in thrown up, and I feel sick towards the end of the school day and can't imagine trying to swim laps. So I am hoping it starts to go away. Not to jinx it but the past few days I have actually felt a lot better in the morning. This whole week I have had egg sandwiches so at least some protein instead of only being able to keep down poptarts in the AM. So hopefully veggies are soon to come back into my diet. I want to eat them, but I don't want to throw them up!

@Weswife: you poor thing - I hope this is the light at the end of the tunnel for you! I had a few lingering moments come back last week with the nausea, but now it is officially gone.

If this were my first, or I were younger I wouldn't be so concerned with the weight. I am just older and the energy just isn't there, and I know with two little ones getting work outs in is going to be challenging to say the least!

Also, most women do have the weight come off with breastfeeding, so don't sweat it too much!

I also have my 40th birthday coming up next June, about 3 months after baby, and I am hoping to feel comfortable in my skin at that time

@oskarsmommy: yeah I am 31. So I am hoping I can get back to myself after the baby comes! I am sure am happy though! You know how they say in happy relationships you gain like love weight. Well I did that with my husband lol. We have been together 11 years and both gained 30 pounds since meeting at 21 and then I guess I have love weight for this baby! Lol! I have gained 8 lbs. already and I am 14 weeks on Wednesday!

Ok girls.. I have a question. We are going to a black tie wedding at the end of October and being my frost pregnancy I don't know if I will grow a lot. Should I buy a dress now and just get it big? Or should I wait and hope I find one? Maybe look like two weeks before?

    @Weswife: so cute!! Love it!!

Could you get an empire style dress? You'll probably have a minimal bump. I think I attended a wedding around 20 weeks with my first and wore a non maternity maxi with empire style waist and it was perfect. I did the same style three months post partum for a black tie wedding.

@Mrs. Pen: Oh that sounds like a great idea! Thank you I will start searching. I didn't really want to wait till last minute since we are flying there and that would just stress me out!

@Weswife: I went to a wedding when I was 6.5 months pregnant with my second. I could still wear my regular dresses that had some give to them. I'll post a pic of it so you can see

@MrsB2012: yeah I have Lacey one I think would work but I would prefer a maxi one so I may just buy one. A little more comfy 😊

@mrsmacSLP: Did you end up telling your boss? How did it go?

@Mrs. Pen: I love both of those names! My great grandma's name is Evangeline - it's on our list for if we ever have a girl.

@oskarsMommy: Totally with you, boy names are SO hard. We've talked about a few, but the ones I really like seem to be popular right now, and we have a super common last name, so I'm trying to avoid Top 20 first names.

@weswife: Awww, super cute announcement! Congrats on the boy! I love asos.com for maternity dresses - they have free returns too, if things aren't the right size.

I'm excited to see a couple of (very cute!) announcements shared here! I was coming to ask everyone just that - when are you going to announce on social media and how?

I'm going to be 12 weeks this Thursday and am excited to share the news on Facebook and IG. I'm thinking of doing something involving my cat (my first born) but I'm still not sure exactly what that will look like.

How are you planning to announce?

Being team green has been a little hard to talk names but we have our boy name down, Harvey Wilder
Girl name contenders: Penelope (Louise), Daphne, Maxine, Sylvia.

I love searching for baby names!!

Love all of the bump pictures, you all look great! I will post one this week too.

So excited to finally join you mamas! I've been lurking but not posting, but we just announced so I can post now

    Location: Texas

    EDD: March 21

How far along: 13 weeks Tuesday!

First child? Second! LO (girl) will be 3.5 when baby gets here

First doctor appointment: We're a little late here... had a few appointments, an ultrasound, heard the heartbeat with the doppler... and found out the sex!

Any symptoms so far? Bad morning sickness that is waning. Still get fatigued and lightheaded but it's getting better. Getting up to pee every 2-3 hours at night and always thirsty!

Who have you told? Everyone now

@daniellemybelle: Welcome! And I hear you with the night peeing - it's driving me nuts already.

@Aspen: We announced right after I hit 12 weeks - my husband made a super ridiculous video based on the Terminator 2 trailer because we're having our second boy. It was really nice that he took control of it, because that took the pressure off of me to think of something creative!

@daniellemybelle: no, I opted out of all genetic testing. So it'll be the 20-week anatomy scan for me.

    Sorry ladies! I had a busy Thursday-Sunday!

Thursday I had an appointment with my new midwife group. LOVED them and will remain with them. Heard babies heart beat ❤️ And doing great over all! I put on 1/2 pound in 10 weeks and I feel like I put on 150! New due date is April 2nd!

@raspberries: I told my boss Friday and she was overjoyed! She told me to take as much time to tell anyone as I need and then when I'm ready to shoot her an email telling her "It's done" aka, all my coworkers know by my mouth. I decided that since I'm 11 weeks I am going to go ahead and let everyone know this week. I've had a couple rough mornings with vomiting on my way to work and having to turn around and change clothes haha.

She is going to fill my position for the last 10 weeks of the school year which makes me feel SO much better since I work with an elementary, high school and transition program all self contained(we say specialty/life skills).

@daniellemybelle: aww congrats!!! And yes so many boys!!!

@oskarsmommy: right! My cousin is pregnant and she is five weeks ahead of me with twin boys! It's crazy!

@mrsmacSLP: just half a pound! Good job! Wow!! I wish. I put on 8 and feel like it's a million! I am so glad it went well with your boss! Yay!! That's always good news.

  32. Mrs. Pen

@mrsmacSLP: so far I haven't gained any weight which I'm thankful for. I only gained 36 lbs with my first and hope I can keep it even lower this time since now I hope to keep up with exercise. Last pregnancy I was very sedentary lol

  33. Weswife

    apricot / 458 posts

@Mrs. Pen: I am sedentary! Boo! Waiting for this sickness to go away! 2nd trimester tomorrow, hopefully it gets better

  34. Mrs. Pen

@Weswife: do you consider 14 weeks 2nd tri?
    I always thought 12-28 was 2nd tri.

    @Mrs. Pen: You're doing great!

I got my Old Navy maternity pants in today and I am in LOVE. Even my husband likes them! So loose!

  36. Weswife

    apricot / 458 posts

@Mrs. Pen: well that's what my app told me! I never knew when the trimesters were hah! The app says it doesn't start till 14

  37. raspberries

    pear / 1955 posts

@Mrs. Pen: @Weswife: I think it can be anywhere from 12-14 weeks, depending on the source. My OB's office has a few doctors who work there, and I saw two different ones at my 12w4d appt (one for ultrasound and one for a regular appt.) One doctor said something like, "Risk of miscarriage is much lower now that you're in the second tri, so you can start spreading the news" and one of them said something along the lines "You won't have your next ultrasound until you're in your second tri." I was like, wait, so am I in the second tri now or not?! Apparently it's up to each individual doctor.

@mrsmacSLP: Yay, so glad your announcement went well! I loooove Old Navy maternity pants - I tried more expensive ones too, and keep coming back to ON.

@Weswife: weird, I always thought second tri was week 12!

@raspberries: Thanks for keeping the list updated! I'm going to be ! Hopefully I can last and actually stay

I finally told my grandparents today. They went away on a cruise and I was only about 5 weeks so I didn't want to tell them before hand. Well on the cruise, my grandpa fell and broke his hip. Then got stuck in Greece for a few weeks after surgery, and then it's been a slow recovery since he's been back. I finally got a chance to visit kid free today! They were pretty surprised. Now I can finally tell everyone else whenever we want
