Ugh, we had a rough night tonight. I THOUGHT everything was going to go well - I was told that he had just woken up when I got to daycare to pick him up, so I thought I'd be able to nurse him and then feed him solids. But then he fell asleep on the boob. I let him nap for 40 minutes and then woke him up and he FREAKED OUT! Cue the crying fest for THIRTY MINUTES!!! UGH! He finally stopped crying about 10 minutes after I abandoned him in his crib. Now I'm nervous he'll be waking up early hungry since I didn't get any solids in him last night!

@jodyblair: Welcome! Sounds like your peanut is a pretty good sleeper.
@Mrs. High Heels: Wow, that is a lot of teeth already! Sounds like you have a great sleeper, I'm jealous.
@Purpledaisy: Welcome! Another great sleeper! That is so awesome.
@QueensBee: I hope your feeling better. When you gave Pete bacon, how did you cook it and give it to him?
@silver1: I may have to try the water in the night one time and see. Or just let him CIO for a few nights.
@Adira: I hope your night goes well.

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease don't hate me for not keeping up on the other board - life is rushed when you're busy with two littles! I'll try to keep up better with this board but I make no promises
LO's name: We call her Rose
Age: 8 months, 15 days
Weight: About 22 pounds as of last Monday.
Length: Not sure, actually, they didn't measure that last time
Number of Teeth: 4! Finally!
Clothing Size: 12 month, some 12 to 18 month
Cruising, Crawling, or Walking: We've just gone from scooting to pulling up into a sitting position to crawling all in the span of a week! She's also been trying to pull up to standing so I think this gal is ready to be on the move! I'm so excited for her
How many ounces of formula and/or Breast Milk per day: Ugh don't make me count that! We're still chugging down 6 ounces of formula at a time, anywhere between 7 to 9 bottles a day (and I mean that in the full 24 hour time span, not just the 'awake' hours).
How many solid meals a day: Two but sometimes three, depending on much of a fussy britches she's being. Lots of puffs (I know, bad momma, but she likes them and I'm usually dealing with a tantrum).
Any words: Does dadadadada over and over again count? She does say it when she sees her dada but uses it through out the day too.
Milestone you're most looking forward to: Toddling after big brother! That will be a sight to see
How's sleep going: Pretty good. Two solid naps a day, usually at least one wake up a night, sometimes as much as three but sometimes I get a STTN (as in 6 pm to 5 am, bottle, then bed til 7 or 8).

@jodyblair: the boy and girl chart are different. Butttt I have plugged in her stats into different charts online and they have ranged from 10th-15th percentile. So who knows!
@NaturallyCathy: I feel you on the puffs! They are such a good distraction!
@Adira: good luck tonight!
pomelo / 5621 posts
@NaturallyCathy: I don't blame you for not keeping up with two littles to chase after. That is going to be so cute when she can toddle after her brother!! I give Isaac puffs at the end of almost every lunch and dinner. The look of excitement when he picks them up and eats them is awesome.
I didn't make it to my first night back at the gym. It has been snowing all afternoon and DH said the roads were a mess and it would be best to stay off them. So hopefully tomorrow.
We found out today that our possession date for our house is December 17. So excited!!
Today Isaac was so funny. He kept getting down onto his stomach from sitting and then trying to get a toy or anything out of his reach but couldn't. He'd get mad and I'd have to rescue him back to sitting just for him to do it all over again. I can't wait until he figures out how to move more than in circles or backwards on his tummy.

LO's name: Kaitlyn
Age: 8.5 months
Weight: 16 lbs 3 oz. (on 11.11.13)
Length: 27" (on 11.11.13)
Number of Teeth: Bottom 2 partially.
Clothing Size: Mostly 6-12 at Baby Gap and 9 months at Carters, though they are all still loose. 3-6 or 6 months are still wearable, but the onesies are getting too short.
Cruising, Crawling, or Walking: This girl has really become mobile in the past 2 weeks! She's crawling, pulling up, sitting up, and trying to take assisted steps. She's also been waving, and it's just about the cutest thing. Melts my heart every-time she waves at us!
How many ounces of formula and/or Breast Milk per day: Nursing ~6-7 times in a 24 hr period.
How many solid meals a day: I'm still working on this. I've been better at giving her solids 2xs/day most days. She loves her puffs (I think mostly it's fun for her to play/pick up and feed herself). Some days I get busy and play catch up at night to feed 1 solids meal. I've also been a lot more lax and adventurous with giving her foods from what I am eating. She had about 1.5 oz of tomato basil soup yesterday and some pureed edamame today. She loooves bread sticks or any kind of bread - I tend to give it to her to keep her occupied during a meal at a restaurant. She can scrape the bread crumbs off, and sometimes will gag on the bread and I have to dig it out, but I'm not as freaked out anymore. I gave her the tiniest piece of my short rib today. Then I figured I need to puree my own meats before I feel more comfortable with that.
Any words: Still saying DaDa most of the time, but also making "baba", "lala", and "haaa" and almost "hiii" sounds. Still no mama.
Milestone you're most looking forward to: Saying "mama". Standing unassisted is the next big step I would guess.
How's sleep going: We have some rough nights with multiple wake-ups and other nights are good, like normal (1-2 times to eat in the early morning). With all the milestones and teething, some days/nights, she just can't stop moving and wakes herself up. Those nights have been frustrating, but understandable. She also needs to nurse more some nights (and I know it's going to happen) when she is just so active and distracted/doesn't want to nurse in the day.
Naps are still very challenging - this past week was really rough. I say she is "tired, but not sleepy." It's really hard for her to get settled into a REM cycle.

@Adira: Thanks for starting a new thread! I thought about it a few weeks ago, but forgot to mention it. So nice to have everyone do an update now! We were doing the Motrin for a week or so every night. I felt so guilty, but with the teething, it really did help her sleep better. Oh no on the crying! I really think the March babies are all going through something...
@Smurfette: Gosh, R is just always head of the class! And she doesn't need pigtails yet. She looks fab in all her headbands!
@sheskrafty: Oh no! I hear you on the awful sleep. Yikes on the gagging. I was in no rush for solids until she started wanting to eat the puffs on her own.
@QueensBee: Aww. Hope you aren't being to hard on yourself about FF. He looks like he's perfectly happy, healthy, and content in all his pics! Interesting about the pasta bolognese! I've been thinking about using the pasta cooker insert this week. Read on one of the lists that now is an appropriate time to introduce them! And YAY on the sleep front! oh no... hope you aren't getting sick.
@ALV91711: I can imagine how cute butt-scooting is! Sounds like a rough day. I've had a lot of those recently. Maybe it's this Wonder Week month-long thing. All the babies seem to be going through sleep regressions or something. Exciting news on the house front though!
@jodyblair: Hi! Welcome to the March boards! Love his name! lol... Our babies are like opposites. I can still fit her in BG 3-6 bottoms and 1 pieces, but she's outgrown the onesies.
@Mrs. Blue: Crazy they're about 2lbs different in weight! And learning to to pull hair! lol! I want to add that to my milestone wish list too! That and stop using my face like a rock climbing wall.
@Mrs. High Heels: ahh! I'm so jealous of how well J sleeps and naps! Can you believe you're in 12 month sleepers already? I was feeling sad that K could fit 6-12 now, and how she's in "big girl" clothes now.
@Purpledaisy: Hi! Welcome and yay for another March mama! Sounds like you have a petite girl still in 3-6! I'm also way jealous of your LO's sleep.
K is still pretty indifferent about solids. She only really started being okay with them a couple of weeks ago. And she still has never grabbed at my ood or wanted anything I was eating. I figure they'll each get there in their own time.
@NaturallyCathy: Don't feel bad... it's hard to keep up. I didn't realize her name was Rose until now.

@Adira: Thanks for starting the new thread!
LO's name: Liam
Age: nearly 9 months! Coming up on Wed. Eek!
Weight: 17.9 lbs (10.31.13)
Length: 28 inches (10.31.13)
Number of Teeth: 4 - just got his top two in the past week
Clothing Size: 9 and 12 month and 6-12. Depends on where they're from though - he has some H&M things sized 4-6 month that are still pretty roomy.
Cruising, Crawling, or Walking: Just rolling and awkwardly trying to go from sitting to all fours while doing crazy flexible yoga poses in the process. He gets so frustrated because he hasn't figured it out!
How many ounces of formula and/or Breast Milk per day: 15-19 oz breast milk during the day plus nursing in the morning and night (and lately motn too)
How many solid meals a day: 2-3 usually. We have been trying to be good about this but most days he gets two at daycare or with his grandmas. We seem to run out of time for this at night but occasionally we will do 'dinner'. On the weekends we are all about breakfast so we do that plus ideally a lunch and dinner too. He loves food - he will eat almost anything now!
Any words: He has been really chatty lately! We have heard mama and dada sounds but I don't know if I'm ready to call them words yet since I haven't really seen him use them with any meaning.
Milestone you're most looking forward to: Crawling (but I also like him not being mobile yet...)
How's sleep going: It's good but with the teething he has been back to waking up most nights. Tonight he was up just a little while ago at 10... hopefully he will sleep the rest of the night. I've just gotten used to bringing him into our bed if he does wake up and I let him nurse and we both just fall back asleep.

@ALV91711: Haha yes - too bad we don't all live close then we could get together and watch our LOs just roll around together! And so excited for you with your house!
@jodyblair: Hi and welcome! I love the name Carter too! Like you I didn't really consider name popularity and then I realized that Liam is apparently a really popular name right now.
@shopaholic: Liam gags on food too - it seems like he will put too much in his mouth (especially little pieces of bread) and doesn't really know how to swallow it. Have you considered using a food mill for meats or other foods? My parents just picked a portable one up for us after watching me try to mash up food while we were out for dim sum. It would help with getting things like meats into an easier to eat consistency.
@NaturallyCathy: Oh yeah - we are all about puffs too!
@Purpledaisy: Hello and welcome! Sounds like you've got a great sleeper!
@sheskrafty: Happy 8 months!!! Sounds like we are in a similar place with not-quite-crawling
@QueensBee: @Smurfette: Sorry you ladies aren't feeling well! Hope you can get some rest and feel better soon!
@Mrs. Blue: I am jealous of your gummy smiles! So cute! Sorry you're still dealing with yucky sickness
@Mrs. High Heels: Oh my gosh 7 teeth already?! Wow! And what a great sleeper!
@silver1: Maybe we will have to try water in a bottle one of these nights!
@Adira: Sorry you're having a rough night! Hope it gets a little better and that Xander will sleep without having to wake up hungry!

@dojo: 9 months already?!?
I stayed home from work today. I took R to day care so I can get some sleep. My stomach is still messed up:( I took a pregnancy test and super happy it was negative.
R woke up at 4, fell back asleep, and then up again at 5:( I could tell she wasn't ready to get up but the battle with her tooth won out. She was eating her hand all morning. I think her cold is getting better. She spit up so much mucus this morning.

@Smurfette: Ugh, sorry to hear you are still feeling crummy. I hope the rest today helps. I took some Nyquil at 8:15pm and went to bed without dinner last night. Woke up feeling much better at 6am and took my time this morning, arriving to work about an hour late.
I bet we are both worn out and susceptible to any little virus that comes along now. Thanksgiving break cannot some soon enough!

Pete, formerly my superstar sleeper, screamed from 3:30-4:45am until we finally brought him into bed with us. He must have known I was getting overconfident in his sleep habits!
@Smurfette: Oh dear! Is it an overnight trip or just a day trip to ILs?
Also, Pete had another single poop day yesterday which meant another monster poop in the AM. I do not want this to become a habit! It takes like 4x as long to deal with a mega poop in the morning and I just don't have time for it!

@Arden: Wow, what a lot of words.
Isaac did so good sleeping last night. He didn't make a peep until 4:15 and nursed. Went back to bed until 6:30 when he nursed. This is when he would usually get up, instead he slept until 8am. I guess he knew mama needed some sleep.

Arggh, we just found out that the house we wanted received an all-cash offer significantly over the asking price. That definitely eliminates us from the running! Getting fed up with NYC and this crazy market!
We'll find a house one day, right?
Pete had a bit of a rough day today. His daycare teachers said that he didn't eat much and didn't seem like his usual happy self. He was okay with me this evening but definitely tired and cranky, and he did leave 3 ounces in his nighttime bottle. He was also burping a lot while we were playing together. I ended up giving him a little ibuprofen to hopefully help whatever it is that's bothering him (teeth? tummy?) so he can sleep.
It's always something with these little guys. For months, it's been a cold. Last week he had the diarrhea issue, and now it's a mystery burping illness. I didn't realize it was so hard to be a baby! I just want him to feel 100% good for a few days.
I cannot believe that tomorrow is only Wednesday. I feel like this is the longest week ever! Maybe it's because I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving so so much!

@Smurfette: That is good that you had your mom to come help you tonight. I hope that you and R both have a good sleep tonight and that you feel better tomorrow.
@QueensBee: Sorry about the house. I really hope you find one soon. Poor little guy, hopefully he is feeling better tomorrow. It is so hard when they can't tell you what is wrong.
I guess Isaac knew I needed to be out of the house just after 7pm and decided to not go to bed until just after 7:30. Usually after he nurses, he is drowsy and I put him in his sleep sack and in his crib and he just goes right to sleep. Tonight he just wanted to play. I rocked him in his rocker for just over half an hour. Maybe tomorrow I will get to go to the gym?
Isaac made a baby friend at our playgroup today and they have the same birthday. It was fun watching them play together, as much as that happens at this age. Isaac even tried to eat the other guys feet a couple times. My baby has a major foot fetish.

@QueensBee: ugh... I hear you on the poop. These solids poop are disgusting. And the gas. And the burping. Someone told me it also has to do with their guts maturing. I'd go back to wet, infant poopsplosions any day.
So sorry to hear about the house. I think NYC is even crazier than Cali housing markets. But it's true... cash buyers and bidding wars are so common. It makes it impossible to think about buying a new house with a contingency to sell, even though I want to. A house in our neighborhood sold recently - first weekend had 8 offers, a bidding war, and won to a cash buyer. So I totally feel you.
@ALV91711: LOL! That's so cute Isaac wanted to nom on his new friend's feet!

@ALV91711: Yay about the house!!! That's so exciting!!! And I still can't believe you guys got snow! I'm ready for snow!! (And once we have it, it'll be here until April, so I feel you on that)
@Arden: BEETS! I'll have to try that!
@Smurfette: YIKES! Sorry to hear about R's crappy napping yesterday! How did last night go??
@NaturallyCathy: @Arden: Wow, tall babies! Xander just got measured yesterday at the allergist and supposedly he was 27" - so... he's shrinking? Or hasn't grown at all since 6 months? When I measured him at home, he was 28.25" so I don't know what to believe! And now I'm not sure if we need to retire the infant bucket seat anytime soon or not (it goes to 29")!
@QueensBee: Awww, so sorry to hear that you lost out on that house!! Booo!!! House hunting can be so frustrating!!! But I'm sure you guys will find something eventually!
So Xander slept 11 hours again last night!!! No evening wake-up! I'm AMAZED because he didn't eat as much as usual (only had 2 bottles + 2 nursing + 1 meal of solids). But I'll take it!!

@QueensBee: Sorry about the house! All cash, that is crazy!! I can't even imagine. I hear you on this is the longest week. I hope P slept good last night and was back to his happy self this morning. And he didn't have a massive poop for you to clean up.

@ALV91711: I swear they know when you want to leave! Too cute he made a friend.

R didn't eat solids last night either and still slept good too!

@ALV91711: honestly, not too different! I got to watch my own shows after LO went to bed instead of football or news?
I had a tough day. K is just a ball of energy. She had a total of 18 min nap today. :(. I figured id try what people always tell me. " if she won't nap, don't make her." It was the roughest hour to put her down in a very long time. It is the least amount of time she's ever napped in a day. Nap regression? She can't bear to stay seated for a moment these days. She has fallen more times than I can count today too. Is anyone else's LO like this too? I need to sleep now. So exhausted.
