Happy Thanksgiving. Hope you all have a wonderful day and enjoy time with family.
@QueensBee: Have a good drive. Zucchini was a hit for dinner last night.
@silver1: I don't think me and my DH could live through renovations and a baby!
@Adira: How is your hubby feeling? I hope he is able to go with you for dinner today.
@Smurfette: Hope you have a good drive today and a good weekend.
I'm dealing with cranky pants today. He got up twice, woke up early at 5:30. Between him and DH having terrible heartburn last night I feel like I barely slept. He's already had one nap and is just miserable. We will have to go out shopping this afternoon to distract him. He loves looking at all the Christmas decorations. Maybe he will even nap in the stroller.

Happy Thanksgiving! I'll come back to catch up later! Hope you all have (or had) some wonderful food and some nice family time!
We spent the morning at my in-laws and are now headed to my parents house. My dad's sister and brother will be there and it will be their first time to meet Liam. I can't wait for Liam to try all the thanksgiving food! Then when we get home I'm going to decorate for Christmas!

I promise to catch up - just had to post a photo of me and Xander from today!

@dojo: Hope he enjoyed all the food! Have fun decorating.
@Adira: That is a great picture! Hope your day was good.

@Smurfette: How did the drive go?? Hope you're having a good time!!
@QueensBee: He ended up feeling better and was able to go with me to the in-laws! Thank goodness!! Although I get along with the majority of them, I don't think I could've dealt with SMIL without him! Hope your Thanksgiving was fun!
@ALV91711: Sorry to hear you've been dealing with a cranky baby! Xander gave me a bit of trouble today too because he didn't want to go down for a nap and then he didn't want to waste time nursing when he could be out with the group. Hope things are better for you now!
@dojo: Yay! Have fun decorating! We're doing that this weekend too!

@Adira: It was good. She slept for over an hour and then was fine sitting and playing. We ate lunch at Cracker Barrel which she loved looking around and eating. Then she napped almost another hour till we got to DH friends house. Fingers crossed the drive goes as well!
Such a cute pic!!!

@Smurfette: Yay!! I'm glad it went well!! And you're with your in-laws today, right?? Hope everything goes okay!

@Adira: yep! Here all day, can you hear my excitement!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: haha, yes, you're dripping with it!
Poor Xander just got himself stuck under the couch! This mama wasn't paying attention and Xander can only push himself backwards and he pushed himself completely under the couch and started crying!! Ooops! I rescued him though and he's fine.

@Adira: I'm glad your hubby was able to go with you for dinner. It is kind of cute when they get stuck under furniture. Isaac has backed himself under the chair a couple times. I keep telling him he needs to learn to go forward, but he can't, so I have to rescue him.
@Smurfette: Glad your drive went well. Hope you have an all right visit at the IL's and that R does as good on the way home.
Last night I was feeding Isaac dinner when hubby brought me my dinner, a couple pieces of pizza. Isaac went crazy until I gave him a crust. He loved it and didn't touch any other food after that.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
Ugh, we're back in teething hell. Xander's waking up again screaming his head off (8:30 last night, 9:45 tonight). *sigh* And so we're back to giving him Tylenol!

@ALV91711: Glad the zucchini was a success! I do love zucchini but I would be hollering for pizza too! Smart boy.
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Adira: Oh no, hopefully it doesn't last long.
I think Isaac is almost over his cold. I hope so. He went from one wake up around 3-4am and for the last few nights it has been two times, which is better than a two hour wake up, but still sucks.
Today Isaac had apple slices with cinnamon for lunch and loved it. He makes such a cute face every time he tries a new food.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@ALV91711: How did you prepare the apples before you gave them to him?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
OMG, I forgot to tell you guys, Xander is apparently allergic to dogs! When we were over the in-laws for Thanksgiving, one of the dogs came up to Xander and licked him up the side of his face and he IMMEDIATELY broke out into hives!!! That whole side of his face got red and puffy!!! We had to give him Benadryl, which definitely helped, but when the Benadryl wore off, the redness came back! We kept giving it to him for 24 hours and then he finally seemed back to normal. Poor baby!!
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Adira: I pealed and cored them and put them in the microwave for a couple minutes to soften them up and then sprinkled with cinnamon and let them cool. I had only quartered the apple since it was small, but I had to cut the pieces in half again so he could pick them up.
Poor guy. It is so hard when you don't know what they are going to have a reaction to. I hope he's feeling better. At least animal allergies are easier to deal with than food allergies.
Isaac decided 5:30 would be a great time to be up for the day after being up at 1 and 3!
pear / 1718 posts
@Adira: Awwe, I just saw that Xander is teething again AND has another allergy! Poor guy! How did he do after you gave him the Tylenol last night? And how long did it take for the swelling to go down after the dog lick?
Pete is definitely not allergic to dogs (we have a small one that gives him kisses all the time), but he was TERRIFIED when he met my Uncle's big black labs on Thursday. His bottom lip just quivered anytime they came over to him and he wouldn't let anyone but me hold him. Eventually he warmed up to the dogs but I had never seen him so scared of anything!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: Urg! Sorry about teething. But I would take that over my 5am wake up call.
That sucks about that dog! Although I would be ok with R being allergic so we never can get one. Not a dog person at all.
@ALV91711: I will have to try apples that way. R loves applesauce so I think she would like apples. And Yep, 5 or 530 sucks!!
We are about half way home. So far ok. Although she is starting to get fussy. Good thing it is almost bottle time. She is so tired though. Went to bed late and still woke at 5.
I am really concerned R just isn't getting enough sleep. She didn't even get 10 hours last night. And only napped for an hour so far today. I just don't know what to do to get her to sleep in more. Like her internal alarm clock just wakes her up every morning right at 5. Poor thing.
Time with the ILs wasn't horrible. Much better then I expected. Just sucks that it never felt like thanksgiving. Like we skipped the holiday. DH and I are going to put the tree and lights up tonight so tomorrow R can help up put the ornaments. So excited!!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
So this morning the ILs said they heard Mama but I didn't really believe them. But when I layed her down for a nap this afternoon, I swear I heard Mama Mama!! Heart melted
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@ALV91711: Thanks for the details! I think I'll have to try apple slices with Xander, although he's currently not even willing to eat puffs!
@QueensBee: It took a few hours for the swelling to go down after we gave him Benadryl! It was so sad - his whole side of his face was swollen so one of his eyes was just this little squinty thing. Poor guy! But he was in good spirits at least!
Awww, that's so sad that Pete was afraid of the lab! I've seen Xander act like that a little bit to strangers (my mom, haha) and it's so sad when they are frightened! Poor babies!
@Smurfette: I'm not a dog person either! So I'm okay with him being allergic. But I'm nervous because all of Hubs' family has dogs and we often sleep over their houses when we visit.. so now I'm worried about that!
Glad to hear that you're on your way home (or probably home by now)! I'm so jealous that R said "Mama"!!! I've been trying to get Xander to say it with no luck! And yay for trees! We're getting ours tomorrow!
As for R waking up so early, it seems like the only thing you could really do is maybe put her to bed early... but that will suck.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: I am afraid then she will wake up even earlier. We tried a later bedtime last night due to being at the ILs and were waiting for someone to get there who wanted to see her. I thought maybe she would sleep later, like she only needed 10 hours. But she still woke at 5:(
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: You could try putting her down earlier. She might still get up at 5:00, but at least she would get more sleep! I feel like when we put Xander down by 6:30, he tends to sleep in a little later than when we put him down at 7:30. It might be worth a try!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: We have tried it before. DH just put her down. She was in a great mood, we didn't want to put her to sleep. But she is mumbling pretty loud so I think she is fighting it tonight.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Oh, okay, if you've tried it before, then nevermind! I don't know why R just refuses to sleep! Maybe she's one of those babies that doesn't need as much sleep??
apricot / 338 posts
@Adira: Great pic and love the turkey shirt!! Aww sorry Xander is allergic but since you are not a dog person hopefully its not a big deal. Hear you on the teething!! I am dreading the next set of teeth as LO has finally settled in back to his sttn for now.
Looks like quite a few LOs are eating table food. We keep trying to give him food but he gags We went out for breakfast today and I fed him some cream cheese and then tried a bit of fried egg. He started gagging on a bite and vomited the entire morning's feed ugh. I guess he does not know how to chew. Looks like stage 2 jar foods are on the menu for some more time.
@ALV91711: @Smurfette: gosh those are early risers!! I guess Issac and R are cruising right? wouldn't the babies be tired out with all the exercise??
@Smurfette: thatz exciting putting up the ornaments!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
Ugh, night 3 of late waking and screaming! Poor baby! I hate teeth!!
pear / 1718 posts
@Smurfette: Yaaay for "mama!" That's so exciting! What a perfect present this Thanksgiving weekend. Still waiting for Pete to say annnything....
Sorry that you didn't have a proper Thanksgiving meal. But, putting up Christmas gear will surely get you back into the spirit! Good plan!
Pete wakes up at 5am exactly these days too. Sounds like he and R could be earlybird buddies! I also worry that he's not sleeping enough- about ten hours at night and 1.5-2 hours during the day when he's at daycare, more on days when he is home. At 5am, I am pretty much useless so I make a quick bottle of formula and bring him into bed with us and the bottle. He drinks the formula, we swap the bottle for a pacifier, and then he pulls at my face for about 20 minutes before falling back asleep. It's not ideal but we can usually get him to sleep another 30-60 minutes that ways. Of course, I end up with scratches and bruises on my face but it's worth it for the extra sleep! Could you try that with R?
@Adira: Oh no! What teeth do you think are coming in? I hope they cut through soon!
@silver1: Oh dear, sounds like he was definitely not a fan. I hope it's not an egg allergy! It must be so frustrating to keep trying foods and feel like you're not making progress, but he'll get there eventually. He definitely won't be drinking breastmilk in college!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@QueensBee: I have to get up at 515 (when I wash my hair) and 545 (not washing) during the week, so I can't get back in bed. I just like having the time to myself. Then on the weekends, one of us is still sleeping and the other gets up with her. But it wouldn't work, anyway, she doesn't eat first thing. She eats between 615 and 630.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@QueensBee: I think he's working on his second set of top teeth. So once they come in, he'll have 4 top teeth.

You guys, can I join?! I was planning on joining the thread when you started a new one, and I missed it until just now
pomelo / 5621 posts
@boots: Of course you can join. Welcome!
@Adira: So many teeth! I agree with @Smurfette: I wouldn't mind a dog allergy. I'm not a dog person but I know we will get one eventually.
@Smurfette: That is so awesome she said mama!! I hope R figures out her sleep and stays asleep longer. Is she happy when she wakes up early?
@silver1: No cruising here, he isn't even crawling yet. How did he like cream cheese? Did you put it on toast?
Tonight Isaac went to bed fine and then 15 minutes later woke up crying. He started to calm and then got mad and screamed. It took 65 minutes for him to get back to sleep. This was with checks and he just wouldn't calm down. It is 8:30 and I'm in bed in hopes of getting to sleep early.

Happy Belated Thanksgiving everyone! Time to catch up! Hope everyone had/is having a wonderful long weekend!
@silver1: My app said from 33 1/2 to 37 1.2 weeks.
@QueensBee: I saw someone post a pretty cool training cup for drinking like a regular cup on HB not too long ago! I will offer K water from my cup too and she enjoys it - but inevitably gets wet from dribbling. And I don't dare let her hold an open cup yet! Aww... sorry to hear you hate your hair, but lolol'ing about the KK vs KM! The worst about going back to the salon is wasting your precious time! My gosh! Goat cheese! I hadn't even thought of giving that to K - but it is MY fave kind of cheese! Isn't it weird we can give cheese before dairy milk?
@travellingbee: Ooh! Good to know about the gagging vs. choking.
@Smurfette: How was your road trip? Awesome on the Cheerios and bananas! I hear you on the sleep thing. Yay for saying Mama! K says it now, but I always miss it! Everyone else gets to tell me she was saying Mama.
@ALV91711: Yay for your sister and for nieces! We can't wait to meet our lil niece soon! Funny thing - I haven't even gotten around to making apples for K yet! I need to go buy some groceries!
@dojo: Nice that your aunt and uncle finally got to meet L! I loved your family team uniform pics btw!
@Adira: So so cute! I love this pic! Boo to the teething again and oh no! Poor X with his allergies! I know K isn't allergic to dogs since we have one, and she has basically been french-kissed by 2 other dogs now.
@boots: Hi! Of course! Welcome! Why don't you copy the info stuff from the first page so we can all get to know you and your LO! Do you have a boy/girl? Birth-date and name?
Thanksgiving was really nice! K had a blast crawling around my sister's house. She got the wishbone. My sister's dog (actually MY old dog who they've had for years now) - BIT K on the nose at dinner!!! I didn't witness it, but everyone said K didn't even do anything to provoke him. She was just sitting on the floor. Bailey (the dog), is/was a biter. That's partly why BIL took him. He was the only one who could train and "reform" him years ago. Oh... was he in trouble that night. Luckily, K didn't get any marks or scars AND she doesn't seem to be afraid of dogs still! We just all have to work on the dog's temperament since they are expecting a baby soon too.
I gave K some leftover turkey, pureed, yesterday. 2 meals! She liked it, but I'm sure a lot of it had to do with the seasoning. It was brined for 3 days and smoked. Today I gave her some chicken and she liked it too! Feeling more adventurous lately, and little miss is starting to eat more ounces/day!
K has been clocking under 11 hours most night lately - including multiple wake-ups! Last night was AWFUL! She was up from 5:30-7:30 (but that's EARLY for us!) I finally got her back to sleep, but she woke up an hour later. I don't know if it was because she napped in the car driving home or what. With the holidays and visiting everyone, it's been different I'm sure, but I think I'm going to move her bedtime up from now on (I know... I know... I keep saying that). DH wasn't home for bedtime today, so I just started bedtime at 8:30, half an hour earlier than normal, and she fell asleep nursing! That hasn't happened so smoothly in awhile! FX'd! If she's going to wake up earlier these days no matter how tired she is, I can only try to put her to sleep earlier right? Now, if she starts waking up at 7:30 every morning, I'm going back to late bedtimes!
I swear all our March babies are going through a sleep regression! Grrr.

Yay! Here's my belated intro
LO's name: Quinn
Age: 8 months (born 3/26)
Weight: 20lbs
Length: 29in
Number of Teeth: zero!
Clothing Size: On average 12 month, but she still fits into smaller or larger clothing depending on brand
Cruising, Crawling, or Walking: She's working *really* hard on crawling, but is still just rolling and scooching (:
How many ounces of formula and/or Breast Milk per day: Not sure! We EBF so it's whenever she feels like it.
How many solid meals a day: Varies. Lately it seems like she eats whenever I do! We do baby led weaning so she gets bits of whatever I eat.
Any words: Not yet! I keep trying to convince her to say mama, but it's not working.
Milestone you're most looking forward to: Crawling! And her first words!
How's sleep going: It's not lol. Naps have been steadily decent, but nighttime sleep lately has been crazy. Lots of wake ups, and inconsistency with bedtimes. Tonight she went down at her usual 7pm, only to wake up an hour later. She's finally falling asleep as I type. I'm hoping it's because she's working on some mad baby skills

@boots: Awww! I LOVE her name! Yay for another March girl! Are you a SAHM too, if you EBF still too?
Oh! If you're not comfortable posting/sharing pics here, most of the March Mamas are on IG (and you can set to private!) If you're on IG, find me! I'm @shopaholicviv: - but be warned I post a ton of pics of LO! lol!

@shopaholic: Thanks! I am Major props to all the working/pumping moms. Pumping is SO hard. I actually deleted my IG way back, but I've been itching to make a new one.

@boots: Of COURSE you can join us! The more, the merrier! Aww, Quinn sounds adorable and I LOVE her name!! She sounds like Xander in the crawling and talking department! And you're lucky she doesn't have any teeth yet since you're still nursing!! Bites with teeth are PAINFUL!
@ALV91711: Aww, sorry you had such a rough time getting Isaac down. Hopefully the rest of his night was okay?
@shopaholic: Awww!! Poor K getting bitten! But I'm glad it hasn't seemed to make her afraid of dogs at all. My husband's grandparents have a dog like that, but they gave him drugs over Thanksgiving so he was really mellow, haha. Is K still mostly eating pureed food? I keep trying finger foods with Xander, but he doesn't seem interested. I hope the sleep was okay last night!

@boots: I love love her name!! Welcome! More
The merrier for sure. yes, join IG!
@shopaholic: the road was ok. She didn't do as good on the way home. Cried for a while and then finally just stopped when we were like 20 mins from home. I can't believe the dog bite K!! So glad that she isn't scared of dogs now since you have one! Try the earlier bedtime,. I figure try everything! And I don't blame you. I wouldn't push it back if it meant earlier wake up if I a SAHM.
@ALV91711: She is happy for the most part.
Some mornings by the time I get her from the crib she is ready for a nap already. How did your night go??
R woke up at 5 but went back asleep till 6. Of course she slept in for Daddy.....

@Smurfette: Oh boy, those are early mornings! I hope you find a way to help her sleep in a little soon. And once you do, share your secret with us please!
@boots: Welcome!!! Love love LOVE the name Quinn! And yes, definitely join IG!
@shopaholic: Awwe, I can't believe K got her first dog bite. She's a good sport for not making a fuss over it! Our dog is a rescue dog too who has some aggression issues that we've been working on for years. It's my biggest fear that he'll snip at Pete one day. I keep an extremely close eye on him all the time and I keep them gated separately when I can't be right next to Pete. So far, however, he has been nothing but affectionate and sweet with Pete, knock on wood! I hope Bailey is able to be the same way when their baby comes!
