@Adira: @Smurfette: @QueensBee: Yeah, I am glad she's not afraid of dogs. Took her to the outdoor shopping plaza yesterday and there were a TON of dogs. She was so happy, squealing still when she'd see one up close.

Earlier bedtime and she slept a little over 11 hours. With 2 wake-ups. Not nearly as bad as the night before!

I'm hoping we can go pick up a tree today! Hope everyone has a nice Sunday!

@Smurfette: Yuck, 5 again. I'm thinking I should enjoy 6-6:30 wake ups while I can. When I go back to work I'm going to have to get up at 5 or shortly after to get ready and out the door. But I'm trying no to think about it!

@Adira: The rest of the night was all right. He got up twice again to nurse. I'm thinking he isn't getting as much in the day because he just wants to be busy playing, but I don't know. He was up at 6:15. Hopefully Xander didn't wake up because of his teeth last night.

@boots: Such a pretty name. I hope she figures out this sleep thing soon. Seems like a lot of these babies are having a hard time lately. I know our sleep has gone downhill, but his naps are starting to get more consistent.

@shopaholic: I'm glad the bite didn't make her scared of dogs, but that would be kind of scary. Glad you had a better night for sleep last night.

I can't believe it is December already. Tomorrow Isaac has his 9 month appointment. A little bit early but that is ok. I can't wait to find out how much he weighs! I'm hoping to take him to see Santa one day this week and then next weekend we are taking him to Cabela's to see Santa as DH is really into hunting and outdoors and the Santa there dresses in camo.

    Hi ladies!

My husband left yesterday for a business trip until late Tuesday night. I forgot how hard solo parenting can be! Pete just fell asleep and I just poured myself a big glass of Sancerre. I'm exhausted and I still have so many chores to get done before work tomorrow morning!

On top of everything, I forgot my wallet at my parents' house this afternoon so I have zero cash or access to any money until they drop it off tomorrow or Tuesday! Smh. I mean, there isn't anything we need urgently but it's a little unsettling to have zero access to cash or credit.

Pete didn't nap very well today so I put him to bed at 6pm, instead of 7pm. I'm so curious if he'll wake up at 5am like usual or if he will wake up earlier. We'll see!

@shopaholic: Have fun picking out K's first tree today!

@ALV91711: Lol, the Cabella's Santa sounds hilarious!

@shopaholic: glad she slept good for you!
@ALV91711: Bass Pro Shops has Santa too! We need to figure out when we are going to see Santa. Happy 9 months I!! Time is going to fast. Let us know how his appointment goes.
@QueensBee: DH has been home for a week, so not looking forward to the reality of solo parenting again all week. I would be lost without my wallet. At least they can drop it off on Tuesday. I hope he doesn't wake up at 5!

We had such a great day with R. She only took 2 naps, but they were both great naps, almost 2 hours and then almost 1.5 hours. She even did great with spit up till about 4 this afternoon. We started her Christmas craft for the family. Stamped her foot while she ate puffs in the high chair. I will post a picture when I finish them. I hope they turn out.

And I swear the girl is going to turn into a puff! Obsessed!

Sounds like girlfriend loves her puffs! I love the image of her puff-ing away while you make 20 little reindeer with her feet!

@Smurfette: I love the reindeer footprints! We made some ghosts for Halloween, so I might have to try this too!

@QueensBee: Solo parenting is tough. DH was out of town for work a few weeks ago and it was exhausting. I don't know how single parents do it!

What are everyone's IG names? I'd love to follow all these March babies. I'm jclickner

@Smurfette: I love the footprint. I may have to do the same as my original craft with salt dough was a flop.

@QueensBee: Oh goodness. That's so hard! My husband is going to be gone for nearly a week this month and I'm sort of nervous. Solo parenting is no joke.

@Smurfette: SO cute! I've been trying to think of Christmas crafts to do with Quinn and I think I'm going to have to steal this idea. Yours turned out perfectly!

Two hours of fussing, crying, nodding off to sleep only to start all over. I'm now nursing him to see if that will knock him out.

@Smurfette: The footprints are so cute! How clever to use the puffs to distract her We tried doing the cute pinterest handprint turkeys with the fingers each a different color and L kept squeezing his hands together so I said screw it and we made brown turkeys and even that was a task.

@ALV91711: Oh no hopefully he'll sleep for you after nursing to sleep!

@QueensBee: Being on your own is rough! I would freak if I didn't have my wallet - at least you know where it is and you know you'll have it back soon!

@boots: Welcome! I love her name!

@shopaholic: Oh no about the dog bite! But it sounds like she was a good sport and it's good that she isn't scared of dogs since! Glad she enjoyed some yummy Thanksgiving food!

@Adira: What a great pic of you guys from Thanksgiving!

This weekend has totally flown by!

Friday we took Liam to his 9 month appointment (the craziest part of the whole thing was when the doc told us the next time we'd see her would be at or after his first birthday?!?!?!) Weight: 18lbs 9oz Length: 27.5 (I think it was off... since he was 28 inches last time) and I forget his head but it's still 95%. After that appointment I had one to get some dry skin checked out on my hands and it turns out I have eczema (and I just thought I had terrible dry skin since last May... )

We spent the rest of the day watching football with friends and Liam got to wear his WSU jersey onesie. The rest of the weekend was pretty terrible though because I got super sick Friday night and was up all night throwing up. I spent all of Saturday in bed and didn't actually try to get up until after 6:00... I cannot remember the last time I slept that many hours My husband kept asking if I might have Mono again. I missed playing with Liam all day but at least DH had some quality time with him and he brought him up to nurse and take a nap with me. I finally felt back to myself this afternoon but since I have to go back to work tomorrow so I feel like I was cheated a day of my long weekend!!

    pear / 1718 posts

@ALV91711: Awwwe, I hope the nursing worked!

@dojo: So sorry to hear you were so sick! Sounds like maybe a stomach virus? How terrible! Glad you had DH around to help with Liam and take good care of you! I loved the IG photos of you three in your football jerseys!

So far, our morning together has gone well! Pete went to bed an hour early last night and he slept from 6:08pm to 5:17am, which is actually about 20 minutes later than he usually sleeps. I was pretty excited! We might try 6pm bedtime again tonight. Even if it won't convince him to sleep in later, I feel better knowing that he is getting 11 hours of sleep since he hardly naps at daycare.

I also think I was a little too organized this morning! I had everything laid out last night so that the morning without DH would run smoothly and now I find myself with an extra 20 minutes to spare. How did that happen?! Not that I'm complaining!

@ALV91711: He did! Night 4 of late-night wake-ups! AND I bought the wrong flavored Tylenol so when Hubs gave it to him, he was totally confused, but he apparently still liked it - phew!

Good luck at the appointment today! Please return and give us all his stats!

@QueensBee: Yikes!! Sorry to hear you're solo parenting for a couple days AND you don't have your wallet!!! That would make me so antsy! Hope you get it back soon!!

@Smurfette: OMG, those turns out sooooooo cute!!!! Great job!!! I can't ever get Xander to hold still enough for something like that! I hope your family appreciates them!

@jodyblair: @ALV91711: I'm charmedthea, so if I forget to request you, request me!

@dojo: Yay! Glad Liam's appointment went well! 18lbs 9oz is a good size! I'm so curious to see what Xander is, but I think he'll only be 17 lbs something. He's skinny! And I don't know why they even bother measuring length since they all do it differently and it's not very accurate! Supposedly Xander hasn't grown in height in 3 months and I find that very hard to believe! And I DOUBT that Liam shrunk, haha!

@ALV91711: That is rough. I am sorry. I hope the night got better for you.
@dojo: That is crazy!! Sounds like he is nice and healthy!! Sorry about the eczema, no fun! Sorry you were sick over the weekend, but I am glad that you are feeling better again.
@QueensBee: It is so hard when they don't sleep at day care. I end up trying to put R to sleep earlier and then half the time she fights it more and still falls asleep at 7, like normal. So frustrating. Yay, for bonus play time this morning.
@Adira: Trap him in the high chair!

  25. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: haha, whenever Xander's in his high chairs, he's just constantly kicking his legs! Daycare has managed to get a good foot print or hand print a handful of times, but mostly his artwork is smudged, haha. And one of the teachers was telling me how he was flailing about so much that he got paint all of her!

For the first time in 2 weeks, little man had a good night's sleep! He went to bed at 6:30, woke up at 7:15 and dh was able to get him back to sleep without me having to nurse him! He made a few squeaks throughout the night, but didn't wake up until 5:30. I nursed him and he went back to sleep until 7:15. It was AMAZING! I thought we would be in sleep hell forever. Fingers crossed this new trend continues.

I feel like we are in a walking fog lately, just muddling through. L has another double ear infection and hasn't slept in his crib in weeks for more than an hour. Last night he had 102° temp even on antibiotics. I am sick, my husband is sick, and we still have to take care of L. I don't know if I would even consider having another child at this point. I can't imagine doing this again. I called the ENT this morning, and they're moving his surgery up to this Thursday. I'm grateful but still can't even believe we have to make it until Thursday!!! and the worst part is, I feel like it's my own fault for having him in daycare. We didn't need for me to work, but I wanted to. Now I feel like I should've stayed home with him and we could've avoided this whole thing. Anyway, it is what it is. I hope that the surgery will work the wonders that people promise!

  35. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@travellingbee: Aww, I'm sorry you guys are going through that! Taking care of a sick baby while being sick yourself is sooooooooo hard. Especially at night when all you want to do is SLEEP!!! I really hope the surgery works wonders and things get better for you!

And please don't feel bad for wanting to work! If you like working, then that really is probably best for your family! If you stayed home out of a sense of obligation, you wouldn't be happy and neither would L! And there's no way you could've known that this would happen! It's totally random! And maybe he would've gotten sick anyway if you were a SAHM because you probably still would've done mom & baby groups and he would've been exposed to germs other ways!

I hope your whole family starts feeling better soon!

  36. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@travellingbee: DO NOT feel guilty about him being in day care. There is nothing wrong with being a working mother. And you had no clue that he would get ear infections this way. Who knows, he could have gotten just as sick from a play group if you were home with him.

I am so glad they were able to move up the surgery till this week. Poor guy! My heart is breaking for you all. It is so hard seeing our babies sick, then you and DH being sick too. You both get a gold star for this. After the surgery and everyone feels better, get a sitter and DH and you treat yourselves to a nice night out. Or rent a hotel and just sleep!

@travellingbee: I would say not to feel bad about putting him in daycare, but the reality is that I often feel the same way when we've had a long sick stretch. Rationally, though, I know that it's not my fault they get sick and that even babies that stay home with parents often get sick. Hang in there. Everything looks worse when you are exhausted and worrying about your baby!

In other news, y'all, I think I have baby fever @Adira:-style! WTH?? I think it's because the Baby Dudes are just so busy and all over the place and really don't want to snuggle me anymore. One half of my brain knows that I'm totally crazy and could never manage another LO in the next couple years, but the other part of me CANNOT stop thinking about another baby. My head needs to be examined.

@Smurfette: So cute!!! I was thinking of doing this with their hands as antlers, but I think it's smarter to draw antlers on since it's nearly impossible to get a good print as it is.

@Mrs. Blue: You are crazy! I can't imagine another and I only have one!!!! We did her hand print for the Thanksgiving runner (going to do one every year till she is 18, totally going to love me when she is teenager) and it was much harder then the foot.
