Wonder who will be next!! I have to make suer i get on here everyday so I can keep up with things now that the LO's have started to arrive!

@adira and @dojo: Congrats! I am so happy for you guys.
My quick update is that everything is going so well so far. We are tired, but I am feeling really good due to the endorphins and adrenaline. I'm also fortunate to be recovering quickly: early hospital discharge, no tears, very minimal pain. We've already been out walking around the neighborhood using the K'tan. Our baby falls right asleep in it.
The only thing we weren't prepared for is how little he is! I primarily bought clothes in 0-3 month sizes, and he swims in them. We ended up having to stop at Target after our pediatrician appointment to buy some newborn onesies.

@mole: Awww...so sweet!
@smurfette: Oh cool he's home! Maybe her coming sooner would be better than later anyways, then! lol

@Adira: Congrats!!! He is so beautiful!
@Mole: That little hand is so precious! And congrats to you as well - I think I missed your post since it looks like we delivered around the same time! We had the same thing with our LO being so small - I was under the impression that we would hardly even be able to use any nb clothing and were given lots of clothes for 3+ months. He's so small that he fits preemie outfits a lot more comfortably (except that his legs/arms are a little too long for them) - so I found myself buying some nb things for him to 'grow into to'.
@Smurfette: Thanks so much for updating! Can I edit that our son was actually born 2/20 - I didn't get around to posting on here until the 23rd since we had some issues with having to stay in the hospital an extra night due to high bilirubin levels and I can add his name: Liam Harrison.
We are adjusting to life with baby - he is feeding well (we experienced our first 'cluster feed' the other night) and is enjoying lots of naps and snuggling. I can't help but find myself just watching him and being amazed by every little movement and scrunched up face he makes. So in love.

My bp won't go down. It's not crazy high, but high for me. My midwife doesn't seem to be concerned, but I am. I'm taking the supplements she said and took an epsom bath this morning. I even have been resting on my left side as much as possible today.
I'm just getting nervous. Probably just over-worrying, but I don't like feeling like I finally made it full term just to have things start falling apart.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@katiew92081: @aprk: just did something to lower her's that @arden suggested, I believe. Check with them and see if those work for you.
pomegranate / 3452 posts
@katiew92081: high BP is stressful, which then keeps it higher ... Sorry you are dealing with this. Mine was 140/90 for a few days, but then went down by the end of the week. I did drink a lot of water and take one Epsom salt bath, but not sure if it helped or not. Can't hurt if the bath will help you relax. Magnesium was also suggested.

@mole: Sounds like a pretty good L&D. That little fist is so precious!
@dojo: Aww... love the name!
@katiew92081: Hope you can relax a bit before baby comes. Sorry about the high BP. I don't remember if you were the one talking about baths? But I have been soaking in the bath every other night. It seriously is one of the only things that is making my rib and back pain lessen. Feels sooo good! I just wish the water didn't get cold so fast!
As for my OB visit today, stats are the same as last week. 50% effaced, ~ 1cm dilated. In fact, the OB said baby seems to have gone up higher (station?) than when she last checked me a couple of weeks ago. Her head is still really low though, as confirmed by a quickie U/S today! The OB was worried I was measuring small and wanted my fluids checked. Fluids are all good. Baby is low with her butt all up in my rib cage. I called DH to tell him "baby is crawling back up and wants to stay inside!" He said she's being a good girl and staying put until after he gets to go to a concert on Saturday night. *I totally forgot he was going to that concert. It was originally scheduled in October, but the show got cancelled and moved to a week before our DD.
If I make it to next week's appt., we get another U/S to check on her size. I've also picked up a few more NB sized clothing the past couple of days seeing as how I *think* she will be on the smaller size.

@aprk: Thanks...midwife texted me again and said that I should eat lots of protein and update her in the morning. I guess it's all I can do. Nothing severe is happening, so I have to do what I've been doing all along...wait, lol.
@shopaholic: That's interesting that there's not much progress. Maybe the whole "station checking" thing is a matter of personal opinion rather than concrete. She'll come out eventually!

@Mrs. Blue: Yep, GBS was negative! I'm so relieved about that. I didn't want to have to deal with an IV during my water birth (plus me and needles in general don't have the greatest relationship).
Baby is still quite high, we are hoping to see her drop any day now. Head down but posterior, although I think she may have flipped to anterior during our evening walk. I'll have the midwife confirm that at my next appointment (next Wednesday).
I had some significant pain this evening while walking that felt like an endless 15-minute-long contraction, not sure what that was. It went away and never came back.
bananas / 9973 posts
@Arden: Good news on your GBS negative! Hmmm...weird about the 15 minute pain. I've relegated myself to taking Tylenol to cope the past few days.
@Smurfette: Thanks. But now I'm sure I've jinxed myself with a 9-pounder! lol!
My sister called tonight to see if I felt like I was going to pop anytime soon. People are starting to check in on me to see when baby is going to come. lol. It's going to be an interesting couple of weeks if she does decided to come late.

@shopaholic: I'm dreading all the people asking me when I'm having the baby...I'll have her when I have her!

Wow, I thought my belly dropped before, but now it feels like it really dropped!! It feels smaller and a little more comfortable. Except for the part where my pelvis feels like it's going to shatter. So crazy.
I think I may be leaking water. I'm gonna take my bp after dh leaves for work and text my midwife with my concerns.
Thankfully, my swelling has gone down a lot, which may be contributing to the smaller feeling.
Baby girl is sooo wiggly!!

@katiew92081: sounds like you're getting close!! Glad your swelling is better.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Arden: Great news!!
@shopaholic: There is no way you have a 9lb baby in there. I am dreading those phone calls. I sent a message to my family on FB yesterday asking when we let them know she is here, to not put anything on FB until they see us post something. Everyone wrote back, shoot I thought you were in labor. Um pretty sure I am not sending out a FB message to everyone when that time comes. I will how ever let my HB girls know
@katiew92081: So glad that your swelling is better. Do you think your water broke? Sounds like you are getting closer!!
@NaturallyCathy: Fingers crossed for your closing today!!
watermelon / 14206 posts
@smurfette: I don't know! Funny, with ds I knew for sure my water broke. But, I haven't started contracting, like I did about an hour after they broke with ds. I'm crampy today, but you know, that doesn't really mean much. I told dh that we're on red alert status from here on out, and to be ready if I call him at work, lol. But, I hope I don't have to call him for something mediocre and get him all anxious if he sees me calling for something else, lol.
ETA: But, I know it can still be weeks before I see her face, lol...I'm not crazy about this whole waiting this at the end of pregnancy...every little thing gets analyzed!

@Smurfette: Thanks, I've got my fingers and toes crossed at this point. I just hope all the paperwork is ready for this afternoon otherwise it'll be embarrassing...

@mole: look at that little hand! Ahh so cute!
@Arden: Glad your GBS was negative!
@katiew92081: ahh- you must be getting close! You are so right about analyzing every little thing that happens!
I am totally not feeling good today ladies- and of course i have like the longest workday ever! I didnt sleep last night cuz I had a wicked bad headache and some pains in my upper stomach near my ribs. I took a couple tylenol and felt a bit better- but overall i still feel like crap. My head still hurts- I still have that pain in my side- and I feel like i could just drop my head to my desk acuz it hurts so much... oh boy. I am thankful i have a dr appt tomorrow cuz after some googling these are all preeclampsia symptoms... hopefully thats not what it is and I am just having an off day.

I promise I will catch up with everyone once we are home, but just wanted to pop in and say hi. Xander and I are doing well though breastfeeding is hard! I still can't believe he is here. I keep wanting to say that his birthday is in March and have to remind myself that it's February! It seems so weird that this baby is ours and that they are actually going to let us take him home with us tomorrow! Hope all you ladies are doing well. Soon enough all our babies will be here!
honeydew / 7589 posts
@Adira: Woohoo! I'm so excited for you! And a teensy bit jealous, and then I look around and see how much I have left to do and go "never mind, I need a couple more weeks!"
I'm full term today! My mom arrives on Tuesday, so ideally baby will wait until then at least. I would like to go into labor at 39 weeks, but I'm expecting 41.
watermelon / 14206 posts
@adira: So glad you are Xander are doing so well! Can't wait to hear all about it when you're home!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@cheert16: I hope you just are having an off day too! Get some rest tonight.
@Adira: Glad yall are both doing well and get to go home tomorrow. Fingers crossed the breastfeeding gets better. Can't wait till we start a March baby thread once we all start having our babies.
@Arden: Yay for full term!! I am hoping for 39 weeks too but I have a feeling she is going to be late and I will end up being induced.
bananas / 9973 posts
@cheert16: Sorry to hear you're having a rough day. I've had a few days like that and ultimately Tylenol was the only thing that helped a bit. My OB said I could even take Tylenol PM to help.
@Adira: So happy for you! And like @Arden: , a teensy bit jealous too!
@Arden: Happy Full Term day!
I'm happy to report that I think the nursery is ready for the most part! I'm still waiting on some supplies (had to order from Etsy) for the mobile and I want to print some pictures and/or make some more art, but those things are small details. We set up the video monitor and car seat bases in both cars yesterday.
I'm waiting for the crib skirt from my Aunt. She had my guy cousin mail it to me and he held on to it for a WEEK before mailing it! Argh! Annoying how boys can just be so whatevers about that kind of stuff! And got to steam or iron the curtains, but overall, I feel like the room is ready.
I feel like the baby shifted a little bit out of my ribs today and the weather is SO NICE - 85 degrees out - so I'm just trying to enjoy!

My blood pressure is still up. Around 140/90. I'm getting a little annoyed at my midwife who wants me to update her but her list of holistic stuff is wearing on me. Its not working. Nothing is making it go down and she wants me to take DOUBLE the co q 10 and I'm already taking 400 Mg. I worry about the effect on the baby.
I'm just not sure what to do. Midwife tells me to rest as much as possible and I am. Not much else I can do at this point I guess.
So frustrated!
honeydew / 7589 posts
@katiew92081: Is there any evidence that a larger dose of co q 10 would effect the baby? I wouldn't assume that just because something is a holistic remedy that it isn't best for you and baby.
Blood pressure is not the only indicator of pre-e, and I certainly wouldn't assume that a higher blood pressure means something is terribly wrong. You are probably a little more worried than you need to be. I think all the stressing out about it is going to make it worse. I know that it's really hard to chill out, but do your best. Focus on something else.
watermelon / 14206 posts
@Arden: I've just read that co q 10 is inconclusive about it. Its not just that its holistic its just that they're not working. I do focus on other stuff. I'm mostly just frustrated with having to stay resting.

Quick update - I'm still here. Baby hasn't arrived yet
@Smurfette: Finally closed on the house! We have a new address! I'm working on posting a few of my better cell phone pictures to the blog here in a little while. It's been a long journey but I finally have a new house!
@shopaholic: Jealous of this finished nursery. That's one of my big things that I want to get done in a hurry now - even though Henry will be the only one in the nursery for now. Baby H, whenever it arrives, will sleep with us for the first six months or so in our room.
pomegranate / 3452 posts
@katiew92081: sorry about the BP. I know you must be frustrated.
@NaturallyCathy: congrats on the new house!!
@shopaholic: yay for being ready!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@shopaholic: I can't wait to see pictures of the nursery when you are done!
@katiew92081: Try and not worry about it. If your midwife isn't overly concerned about pre-e then I wouldn't worry about it. I know easier said then done. But try and just enjoy these last days as a family of 3. And get plenty of rest! @Arden: is right, stressing about it is only going to make it worse.
@NaturallyCathy: WOOHOO!!! So excited for y'all!!! Do you know what you are going to do for the nursery?
GOLD / grapefruit / 4555 posts
@Smurfette: You know those nurseries where you see the colored background and then those white tree silhouettes? DH's grand idea is that we do that to the room and on every wall we have a different season. Winter, bare trees; spring, tiny buds; summer; full green foliage; fall, red and oranges with leaves falling. A grand idea, but we'll see how it actually plays out.
