Sitting in emerg waiting room in a wheelchair, ugh. Feel so pathetic.

@junebugmama: How long have you been on the Pepcid? Maybe it just takes a while to start becoming effective? I'm wishing you relief and soon!

@Beebug: I hope the ER can get you fixed up. Please keep us updated - I'm worried about you!

Shoot, all the other comments are on the other page and I'm having a hard time @ing you all. But thanks for the well wishes. I did get some sleep from 5-8, woo hoo. Still having contractions but I'm not too optimistic about them doing anything. Hopefully I'm wrong about it though.

Mae - I'm 36 weeks today and decided ok I'm ready for them. I think it's that I'm insanely jealous that Apex's twins are here! Also, I am just tired and in constant pain. Today we have another growth scan and if they've stayed on track (and if the machines are remotely accurately, which I know they aren't always!) we should have 5.5-6 lb babies in there. Between that, knowing they got steroid shots for their lungs and being 36 weeks, I (and my dr) feel like they could come and not go to NICU (our biggest goal). Sooo... Yes I'd say I'm ready to go. Now if only my cervix would cooperate!

@twodoghouse: aw, well that is so excited that they have a green light for coming now. I hope they cooperate!! Maybe go out for a super spicy/garlic-y lunch after your scan and then go for a walk and then bounce on a yoga ball? lol

@Beebug: so sorry your dealing with the knee right now!! The timing is not ideal but at least you've already stopped working so hopefully you can rest it up before LO comes! Good luck!

@twodoghouse: Sounds like your babies want to come soon! hopefully the cervix gets on board .. It doesn't sound like you will be waiting much longer though!

I had my 37 week appt. yesterday. Nothing exciting - there is nothing going on. Cervix is still high and tight, which is right where I want to be. He is kicking my butt though with his big movements. Sometimes it feels like he is going to rip right through my skin! Doctor said she would rather me be complaining about that then not feeling him enough though and I agree.
and big day today.. I think we are finally, actually closing on our house at 4:00. There have been so many set backs that I won't actually be excited till the keys are in my hand!! if all goes as planned we should be moved in by the end of next week so baby needs to stay put just a littttttle bit longer!

@twodoghouse: I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you for them to come soon and be NICU free 5 days. My midwife said more than likely it's not going to work at this point, so I'm giving it up.

Morphine going to kill me, oh man. Doc wanted to give me double what nurse did, I don't like the doc and usually I'm not too picky. I don't think he gets how bad the knee is.

There is a little girl in the room beside me and she hurts my heart!

Doc has tried to get it twice, he can't get it. I think he is waiting to try again, then I have no idea what will be next.

The nausea and gravol waves of awful have been tough, baby is moving lots, thankfully no worries there.

    papaya / 10343 posts

@mrsog: yay for finally closing on the house!! And for your LO who is cooperating with your current desires on timing haha. I feel like my LO is trying to escape a lot too. Especially in the evenings around 6pm she seems to get a bit cranky and start trying to tunnel out via the skin under my ribs. Then last night she was jabbing me so hard it was making me jump and go "ah!" lol. DH was like... what is going ON over there? I told him his daughter was just trying to find alternative routes out, and was failing miserably (not for lack of trying hah). But I agree-- even though it is sometimes uncomfortable I still love feeling her move around bc its constant reassurance she's doing a-ok. Sometimes if she's been sleeping a few hours I'll even rub her butt and back a little bc it always makes her shift and it reassures me haha.

@Mae: I keep telling people that Alice is trying to scratch her way through my cervix Shawshank redemption style, but people find this a horrific visual for some reason, haha.

@Beebug: I'm still sending lots of good thoughts your way! Glad baby is moving around and handling it well at least.

@junebugmama: Ugh bummer about the heartburn meds prob not working if they haven't started by now! Have you had any more contractions? Maybe he won't keep you waiting too much longer?

@Beebug: yayyy! glad you are home! Although that brace does not look fun to move around in Do you have to wear it all the time now? Hopefully your DD won't have you running around too much!

@mrsog: that's great news! Now hopefully baby stays on the inside until you are settled in

@twodoghouse: hoping they don't keep you waiting much longer if you are ready for them to get here! I'm slowly starting to be ready for baby to get here. Very slowly though I could still use a few more weeks of sleep first!

  13. Beebug

    pomegranate / 3917 posts

@cookie_dough: Brace is called an "immobilizer" as per the receipt, LOL.

I am going to see if my Mom can take DD for a day and/or night this weekend, just to take brunt off DH. Thing has to be on 24/7 except for icing, knee has to get straight (slowly tightening) for MRI they are now going to do while preggo.

Appt with Ortho surgeon Wednesday am next week, and MRI as soon as they can get me in. Ironic given they called yesterday to book my "regular" MRI on the regular road to fixing my knee, knee seems to want to get things done sooner, at this point I'm not opposed.

@Beebug: ouch! sorry to hear what you've been going through! You've had a rough couple weeks... and then the knee...oh man I hope the scans and treatment go smoothly and that you're all fixed soon.

@twodoghouse: hooray for 36 weeks! Must be such a relief to know that at any point they could come and thrive!

@Mae: glad you had a good exit meeting and things are in order for you to be.. released.. lol. Nothing left to do now but wait right?

@junebugmama: don't worry, we're on the homestretch, If your meds don't work at least you know the end point is coming soon, and will be so worth it!

@mrsog: keep up posted on the closing! u could even send us pic of the keys when they're finally in your hand!

Mom came in on Friday and it's been great! Both DH and I are getting TOTALLY pampered. Home cooked meals and snacks daily and fresh fruit juice in the fridge on demand, plus our late night chats have been fun. My shower was on Saturday and it was great! Tons of clothes which is awesome since I hadn't bought ANY and lots of big gifts too. One aunt gifted us the Arms Reach Mini Cosleeper which I really wanted, another got us an Ergo Carrier, another got us a Comfort & Harmony Swing, we got the Summer Infant 3 in one seat, as well as the Contours Stroller we wanted. He is now well stocked!

Two of my friends from church were also pregnant along with me. One was a month ahead and she delivered a healthy baby girl on Sunday night, the other was 11 wks pregnant with twins and she lost them both over the weekend. She spent Monday with me and it was really sad. Very emotional weekend!

@twodoghouse: haha that is not a happy visual. My friend swore she could feel her son scratching the inside of her uterus and saw him doing it on an u/s... then he was born with super long nails. It's actually super creepy that they are so big and well-formed at this point... and amazing they don't do more damage! lol

@Beebug: ugh, looks painful. Glad they will get you sorted out though!

@Glitter: lol well, wait and my never-ending to do list (both at home and work haha). Although at this point the work ones are like.... if I need to hand them off it'd be okay. Home goals for today when I'm done working include (finally!) packing my hospital bag and making 2 freezer meals. Sounds like your shower was great! And glad the visit with your mom is going so well! So sorry to hear about your friend though, so sad.

  16. twodoghouse

    honeydew / 7230 posts

@Mae: Omg that is super creepy about your friend's son and his long fingernails!!

@Glitter: Yay for some great mom bonding time! Sounds like a great shower too. I'm so sorry to hear about your friend 's twins. I hope she's doing alright.

My appt went well today. My cervix is still closed but very soft and it's lower than it has been? I didn't know that was really a thing? Babies were measured at 5 lb 11 oz and 5 lb 13 oz, but of course we got the standard disclaimer that measurements can be off quite a bit at this point, etc.

I'm excited that tomorrow is Good Friday because my husband has the day off! I can't wait to lounge around with him and maybe get some things done around the house.

@twodoghouse: Glad you'll have company tomorrow!

So, I (finally) got my hospital bag packed tonight, as did DH! Also, my DH took his last exam of the semester tonight so he's out of night school until almost July. We've now officially done everything that needs to be done before LO arrives (DH has been hoping throughout we'd make it through the semester exams before she got here)... I guess we're ready? Feels weird/scary/exciting???

@Mae: Yay for being ready and for your maternity photos. I can't see them but I'm sure they are lovely!

@twodoghouse: Glad your appointment went well. Any more painful contractions? Hope you're enjoying your day!

@Glitter: Sounds like a great shower and how exciting to have your mom visiting. So sorry to hear about your friend's twins. That's really sad. How is your pain? Better now that you've been out of work a while?

@Beebug: How are you feeling today? I spent weeks in one of those things after one of my knee surgeries. Not fun! I hope the pain is much less and that you get a permanent fix figured out soon.

Has everyone eligible already ordered a free breast pump through your health insurance? I ordered mine last weekend and it arrived on Tuesday. I couldn't believe how fast and easy the process was! If anyone has the option of different sellers, I would recommend Genadyne (Lucina Care). One of the other companies I could get it through seemed kind of sketchy - they offered one model and then when you go to checkout a different model is listed and they were not open on the weekends to take phone calls.

@skipra: I'm alive! Icing lots, not using my crutches, and it is insane having the immobilizer off now! Feels so unsupported! I definitely prefer it on, slept great last night with it on too! DD home today, it's hard not to be able to be as active as I want with her!

  21. Mamasig

@skipra: I got mine last week. It was pretty painless. Though the company did have to call my insurance company twice to verify my benefits. The 1st time they told them I had a copay even though they told me I would have pay nothing. When they called back, they got the right info.

    papaya / 10343 posts

@skipra: thanks. I can't remember if you're on the fb thread but if you friend me you can see them on my page there too.

And yes! Got my breast pump in the mail this week. The company I went through was Byram. Got the Medela. Came in under a week!

  23. skipra

    pomegranate / 3350 posts

@Mae: I think I just friended you. I'm so bad at FB! Byram may have been the company I decided not to order from. I already have a Medela so I was planning to get another but I think some of the others had more features so I just chose randomly.
@Mamasig: I thought it was going to be a pain to order simply because everyone at the insurance companies seem to have different answers to the same question. Glad it was relatively easy for you too!
@Beebug: Wow sounds like you're a fast healer. Hope your DD is being a good girl today!

  24. Beebug

    pomegranate / 3917 posts

@skipra: oye, by no means healed. Knee is still locked. Just a waiting game to see surgeon Wednesday am, and go from there!

@Mae: love the maternity pics! Nice to have them, and you look fabulous! As if you are 100% ready to go (DH too!) for baby! So awesome, annnnnd I'm slightly envious!

@twodoghouse: glad your appt went well yesterday, and the babies' sizes sound so great!

It feels like Saturday. So nice to have DH and DD home for 4 days! Do turkey and ham dins with my fam on Sunday.

@skipra: actually no, the pain has gotten worse, over the last few days especially. being at home has helped because i move soooo slowly and feel so uncomfortable that i would be just miserable at work, but I'm prepared to deal with the pain until delivery. Thanks for asking!

@Glitter: I am glad you got lots of great things for your LO. Moms are the best when it comes to pampering I am sorry about your friend
@Mae: it is scary and exciting glad your hubby is done for now and bags are ready. My hospital bag is semi ready, I just to figure out what I am going to wear to come home.
@skipra: I got mine like a month ago and yes, the process was quick

    Happy Easter !!!!

Yesterday my sister and SIL threw me a sprinkle. I was very apprehensive about them throwing me another shower style event, when I had found out about it. However, they did a great job and just invited my 3 very best friends and our closest family for lunch at one of my favorite restaurants. We got a lot of gifts that made me uncomfortable, but I am just trying to be appreciative

Sorry to not respond individually but it is tough on my phone.

I wanted to post here that the Easter bunny brought me a little BOY! Stephen Michael III was born at 1:20 today after 2 hours of contractions and being in the hospital for six minutes. Had a slow leak that started at 5pm but didn't produce contractions until 11:12. He is perfect- 7lbs 10oz and 21in long. I packed my hospital bag while waiting for contractions It is funny because I was convinced I'd be one to two weeks late not two weeks early! Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday.

Yes on awake and the time, just annoyingly wide awake here, between knee and preggo, sleep is very hit and miss!

  36. Glitter

    persimmon / 1281 posts

@Beebug: Oh no I could imagine... It is so difficult to sleep pregnant alone, worse with an injury. I woke up to pee and insomnia hit... Now I'm hungry and trying to ignore it til morning....

  37. Glitter

    persimmon / 1281 posts

    @Beebug: friend-ed!

  38. Beebug

    pomegranate / 3917 posts

@Glitter: Ohhh I can never ignore hunger. Once that hits I know I'm done. I'm debating just getting up. It sucks because it's better for knee for me to be on my back, but preggo on either side sleep wise. So lose lose for me and whatever way I sleep? I have the brace off tonight, and it's not too bad. Obviously I sleep on my side more, so knee just feels like it's twisting all the time.

sounds like a lose/lose with leg and positioning. sometimes i prop up well on a pillow on my back so im at a 135 degree to the bed.. not quite on my side but not flat. i dunno if that may help u?
