@Tippy0707: Love that sweet picture! How fun.

    @jetsa: You look great!!

@PrincessBaby: Congrats on 3rd tri!! Feels like this is just flying by!!

@Mrs. Lovejoy: thank you! I'm pretty excited about the third tri!

I was feeling like I'm getting so far along and super peppy about it, and then a doctor that I call on for my job said, "How far along are you? That's ALL? You are definitely all belly, but that's a big belly to still have 3 months to go! There has to be two in there! Are you sure it's not twins?!?"

Wow. I have no idea how anyone could think this is something that should be said in their "out loud" voices.

@PrincessBaby: I got one of those "is it twins?!" last week and I flat out told the woman off, lol. Dumb ho.

@jetsa: You look great! Totally different bump this time. I need to compare side by side, but I think my bumps are the same. Also, I'm jealous you're in short sleeves;) It was 3 degrees waiting for the train this morning.

@SeptMomma12: It was 50 today but we're supposed to get snow sunday. Also I had on a giant cardigan but I felt like it covered the bump lol.

Anyone else feel a lot more uncomfortable lately? I'm only 24 weeks but I really feel like I've slowed down a lot in the last week. And the BH contractions are definitely picking up

    wonderful grape / 20453 posts

@SeptMomma12: ha! And yes. Kind of annoyed about it, actually. I thought i had another month before i got uncomfortable. I have a feeling I'm just going to be a raging bitch for the vast majority of my third tri.

@blackbird: Me too! I had been feeling so great and then bam, feel like I hit a wall. It could have something to do with getting up every 45 minutes (wish I was exaggerating!) to pee all night long. It's insane.

    wonderful grape / 20453 posts

@SeptMomma12: Yeah i've had that problem. I basically front hydrate (but it gives me heartburn) and then don't drink in the evening. It's not really a great strategy but the last two nights, i've been able to go all night without peeing.

Hi ladies! Hanging in here at 23ish weeks... Finally got over my miserable chest cold, thank goodness, but I've crossed into a new category of discomfort... Holy cankles, Batman! I'm NOT ok with this!! My poor feet & ankles are so swollen today they look like they are fat sausages squeezing out of my Mary Jane shoes. Not pretty.

Long day here. We've been stuck inside a LOT due to the snow and it's starting to show. LO's been a complete mess and handful lately.
We also found out today that the buyers of our house are done waiting for us to find a new house to buy. I completely understand, as I know that the wife is due with her 3rd in April - so I'm sure they're getting anxious. We've seen everything on the market in our price range and unfortunately, nothing much new has come on as of late.

Our choices now are to break off the sale with them and be done looking at houses for a while. We're just not in the right stage now to redo the house to try and sell it again. We probably wouldn't try to sell it again for a year or 2 (which makes me sad and frustrated as I'm ready to move). Our other choice is to try and find temporary housing (hopefully a house with a short lease....somewhat unlikely) until we can find a house we love to buy. This option appeals to me more, but is definitely more stressful and exhausting in the short term. My husband really isn't interested in the temporary housing situation, so I'm not sure if we'll be able to come to an agreement....we have until the end of the weekend Ugh. Such a crappy situation.

@GoGoSnoGirl: is it warm there? With my son I started swelling at 21 weeks due to the heat, it sucked but was no big deal.

@Keppa: I'm so sorry we are debating a move as well but luckily we'll be able to keep this house until we're fully moved.

@jetsa: nope, mid 40s, maybe 50F on a nice day. Trying to drink plenty of water & walk more to keep my circulation up. At least they seem to have gone down a little over night.

@Keppa: that must be so frustrating! Hoping you can figure out a good solution soon & get settled before too long.

@Keppa: That sounds so stressful! We had to sublet a condo while we waited for our house to be completed...We still own our first house, but we found a great renter who needed to get moved in sooner than we had planned, so we ended up scrambling and making it happen in order to make it work with that renter. The way that we did it was to have movers pack up all of our things and store them for us, we only brought with us the things that we couldn't live without for 2 months (clothes, baby stuff, etc), and we sublet a furnished condo for 2 months. There is a college in the city we were moving to, and it conveniently occurred over the summer, so we were able to easily find exactly what we were looking for - short term, furnished - and just make it work. It wasn't the MOST ideal situation, especially with a baby in the mix, but I'm glad we did it because that family that rented our initial property turned out to be fantastic and really responsible with the house, etc. We definitely struggled with a few blips - in the end, the closing on our new house got delayed a week (!), and my husband had to leave to go to work offshore, so I had to pack us up out of the condo, and stay in a hotel with my daughter until we could close on our new house. Then orchestrate movers, etc. I did fly my mom in to help me, and it was still stressful. But I guess all of this is to say that we survived and it all worked out:) So if you guys can make it work to get temp housing in any way/shape/form, I hope the sale can get worked out so you don't lose a good buyer!

So I received a warm welcome into the third trimester with a diagnosis of Sciatica on Friday! It was actually kind of an exhausting experience... I have had some soreness from the bottom of my butt down the back of my thigh, and on Friday morning, it was insanely noticeable. It felt like a really deep bruise, all the way to the bone. I am flying out for a work meeting on Monday, and long story short, my doc ordered a diagnostic ultrasound to make sure it wasn't a blood clot before I hopped on a plane. She was pretty sure it was just sciatica, and the scan came back clean, so at least I can rest easy that it's just another mild inconvenience of pregnancy:)

I know there are a few of you guys that have it, right? It has really scared me a couple of times! Yesterday, I was sitting in the sink, my usual place to put my makeup on, and the edge of the counter hit me in just the right place - it was like I was almost electrocuted the pain was so shocking and intense. I couldn't do anything but try to get out of the sink, and DH thought I was falling and he was very fortunately right there to grab me and help me get out. But it was definitely a little while before the pain subsided! DH banned me from getting in the sink from now on. So I'll have to move my makeup party somewhere else for 12 more weeks:(

I snapped a quick pic to celebrate third tri! I have kind of quit worrying about weight gain...I feel pretty satisfied that I'm gaining all in my belly now, so if that's what baby needs, that's fine.

We officially have a name! I'm so excited that's done lol!

@jetsa: That is soooo pretty and I love the NN:) I'm very jealous that you're settled on a name. My DH is being a commitment-phobe

    grapefruit / 4663 posts

@PrincessBaby: it took us over an hour after my son was born so I guess we got lucky this time. Also my DH chose my sons name so I got to choose our daughters, the other just has veto power lol

  22. blackbird

    wonderful grape / 20453 posts

@PrincessBaby: I have awful sciatic pain this time around and it is so sucky. I've been seeing an ART chiropractor and it gives me some reprieve.

I have a stomach bug today. It isn't even that bad-I feel a bit queasy and I've only thrown up twice, and I have a 99.5 fever. I just feel like I can't win this pregnancy

  23. PrincessBaby

    cantaloupe / 6610 posts

@blackbird: I am sorry you are sick:( Does your sciatica feel like a deep bruise, like all the way to your bone? I guess it is that- I mean I clearly hit a nerve when I was sitting in the bathroom sink bc that shit hurt! I hope you feel better! My husband swabbed positive for Strep at the urgent care this morning - so I'm SUPER hopeful that LO and I end up with it!

  24. PrincessBaby

    cantaloupe / 6610 posts

@blackbird: @jetsa: I am going to post these here and then take them down, I had a separate thread but I'll ask here...What do you guys think about Camdyn Rose vs Sawyer Rose? Those are our 2 choices right now.

  25. blackbird

    wonderful grape / 20453 posts

@PrincessBaby: strep isn't as contagious at least! DH gets it all the time and E and I never do.

Mine has a more electric shock feel to it. It's debilitating at its worst. And not a regular pain I can move through. It just forces me to freeze up. But foam rolling helps a little, but doesn't go as deep. So my chiro contorts me and then puts a painful amount of pressure on my butt to release the tightness in the muscles around it. But when I do rub on it, it feels bruised and achy. The muscles are constructing on the nerve, from what I understand.

  26. blackbird

    wonderful grape / 20453 posts

@PrincessBaby: I would wait and see which fits your LO best

  27. PrincessBaby

    cantaloupe / 6610 posts

@blackbird: ok so weird question - your pain starts in your butt too?

Today I feel normal. So . Weird.

  28. blackbird

    wonderful grape / 20453 posts

@PrincessBaby: yes! It's right in the meaty part of my ass, towards the center of my tailbone. And it'll radiate tingly feelings down my leg to my knees sometimes. 95% of the time down the left. The recumbent bike helps keep it loose without putting a lot of pressure on it

  29. PrincessBaby

    cantaloupe / 6610 posts

@blackbird: ok then that is def what I have going on...Pregnancy has officially become a diagnosed pain in the ass

  30. blackbird

    wonderful grape / 20453 posts

@PrincessBaby: heh yeah. I've had it since the stick turned positive, actually...stupid relaxin. And I had it SO bad while i was delivering E. Thank goodness for epidurals. They just take the edge off. It totally disappeared as soon as I delivered, though

  31. SeptMomma12

    pear / 1849 posts

@PrincessBaby: I love them both! I agree with @blackbird that it might be nice to wait and see which one fits her best when she's born. But both are great! Sorry to hear about your sciatica. I've been having a lot of muscle pain in my lower and center back - it's really no fun. Will you still be able to fly?

DH and I are doing a weekend away at the end of February and decided that will be our "name" weekend. He refuses to think/talk about it til then. But some of the ones I am liking at the moment are Charlotte (the name my 2 yr old came up with, which gives it extra points), Hannah and Olivia (nickname "Livvy"). Also liking Julia or Juliet, with the nickname "Jules."

I have an ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow morning, but we are supposed to get 8-12 inches of snow, so it's looking like that might not happen

so sorry to hear about those of you who aren't feeling well! Sciatica, flu, or bugs. All yuck, especially when compounded with normal pregnancy things. Hope you all feel better/relief soon!

@PrincessBaby: I LOVE both your names, and especially love the second. But really, you can't go wrong. Oh and you look amazing! Who cares how much weight you gain if it's all belly?! @SeptMomma12: I love your names too! How funny that DH won't talk about them. Must stress him out . I think Charlotte (possible nn Charlie?) is adorable, and also love Livvy. You guys are making me jealous we aren't having a girl! I just love girl names and boy names are tough.

@Keppa: Sorry to hear about your housing stress. I'm stressed that DH wants to finish the basement while we would have to finish the new LO's room, and transition LO1 to a big girl bed! So I can't imagine how you feel! But I agree, sometimes it feels bigger than it is and after all the work, you can look back and be so happy about the place you're in and how resilient you are! I would go with the option to settle into a rental until you find the house you love. But, there's so many variables!

Happy Super Bowl Sunday everyone. I'm not a huge NFL fan, and not at all for either of the team's playing, but I'm seriously going to eat up all the snacks and treats we'll have tonight. Not ashamed.

So random, but what paint color is that? I'm thinking that might be a perfect color for the baby's room!

@SeptMomma12: thanks! I will probably spread after fatting out on mellow mushroom for SB last night, but oh well:)

I just checked and the color is Sherwin Williams Tidewater. I love it- very calming in our master!!! It would be a great nursery color:)

@PrincessBaby: Should I know what mellow mushroom is? I'm intrigued!

Thanks! Definitely going to look into that color with the bedding and picture. My MIL is horrified I want blue walls for a girl. If left up to her, we would just throw Pepto Bismol everywhere and call it a room.
