So I went in for my 28 weeks appt yesterday, and I asked my midwife how my belly was measuring.....she said I'm at 33cm (so 33 weeks basically) but she wasn't alarmed or anything about it. I'm short and have a short torso, so my belly just grows out!
Has anyone else measured this far ahead though before?? This just seems excessive!

Yes! At my 36 week appointment I was measuring a full 4 weeks ahead. And that was via ultrasound too! Baby was LGA but not huge!

@T.H.O.U.: oh wow that's crazy! I'm hoping during my appt the baby was just in a funny position or something! How much did that baby end up weighing at birth?

@MrsBrewer: We induced a week early and she was 9.7 So again obviously not 4 weeks ahead but she was big!

@T.H.O.U.: holy cow! those are some big babies!! My 1st was 8lbs 2.5 oz, so definitely not 9-10 lbs and I thought she was big! hahaha
Did you find your 2nd, and 3rd deliveries easier?

@MrsBrewer: My second was pretty easy and a great delivery. My third was probably my hardest (I'm older, gained the most weight and she was the biggest). The third ended up being an unmedicated vaginal delivery because it went so fast.

I was measuring ahead a similar amount at that timeframe, maybe even more. I had an ultrasound that day for a different reason, which confirmed the size. I had follow up ultrasounds, which showed I continued to measure ahead, but not by quite as much. I was induced at 39+1 for size, and gave birth to an 8 lb 7 ounce baby. Delivery was much easier than my first (7 lb 15 ounce).

My OB said the fundal height is not really that accurate. One week I measured 4-5 weeks behind and the next time 1 week behind. It's not like it really grew that much in a 2 week period. Also, she said one side of my uterus measured more than the other side. And my baby was pretty much 50% weight at 26 week scan and the day he was born. He wasn't a small baby (completely average 7lbs 9oz), but I consistently measured 2 weeks behind (or more!). Since you have a short torso it is probably that. I have a long torso and I am 6' so lots of room. That was for my second. My first was relatively stable (the normal +/- 2 week frame)

I measured a couple of weeks ahead for most of my pregnancy for DS2. He was born @38 weeks and was 9lbs 11 oz.
