4 days overdue- got a cervical check today and nothing is happening!! Feels like my baby is never coming- I am jut so ready to meet him!! They won't even schedule an induction date as I am not favorable at this time. Hopefully something happens soon!

I don't know if this helps but at 39 weeks, 5 days, I was pretty close to being fully effaced but wasn't dilated at all. I went into labor on my own at 40 weeks, 4 days and gave birth within 13 hours. So it's possible that everything will just move fast when it starts!

Awww no induction date?! BOO! Don't forget that it can happen very quickly, though!

@BelugaBean: I agree! Even though I was induced at 38.5 weeks, my induction (from the start of the Pit to the delivery) took 26 hours, and really, everything happened in the last 3-4 hours.

My doc did say at one of my appointments that dilation/effacement really means nothing at your checks - lots of women go from nothing to labor suddenly! Hopefully he'll make his appearance very, very soon. And, hey, at least you know when he comes that he's ready!

Come on out baby Cheer! I'd be trying very darn superstition in the book now: sex, spicy food, RRL, walking, bouncing on the yoga ball, acupuncture... Good luck!

I know this feeling all too well. Nothing was going on for me either and I was induced at 41w1d starting from nothing. Made for a long induction but the price at the end was pretty awesome

Boo!! You never know he could still come any day!! Just walk every day and see if you can get something started.

@cheert16, boo! My induction is scheduled for tomorrow night cuz my cervix is super thin and squishy. She stripped my membranes and I think that might do the trick. I've been having waves of back pain and cramping pretty steadily now. So I should take to the induction really well if I make it.

@cheert16: If it helps, I was in your position on Friday and went into natural labor the following Tuesday night! LO was born on Wednesday. So it's possible to go from zero to 60 just like that!

Promise you won't be pregnant forever! I was "maybe 1, not effaced, high, & soft" until I went into labor. Baby Cheer WILL come!

Things can change in a matter of hours. Cervical checks don't tell much because of that very fact. You can go from 0cm to 4cm in the blink of an eye (well, not literally!). Baby will be here soon!
