    A took three steps (albeit wobbly) on his own yesterday!!! EEEEEEEEk. I think it's probably just starting, and he's still trying to figure it out. BUT O EM GEEEEEEEEEEEE what happened to my helpless nb baby?!?!!

    I AM NOT READY FOR A WALKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    @mrsjyw: The walking - OMG it has started! Big congrats to you and the other Nov. mamas whose babies are starting or are getting so close!

    Admittedly, I am really happy we're not quite there yet with the walking She's just starting to stand unassisted for a few seconds at a time and even that is freaking me the heck out. I'm just glad she knows how to drop to her little bum instead of falling straight backwards!

    @mrsjyw: Wahhh nooo. Her daycare buddy has been walking since he was like 7 months or something RIDICULOUS so she has a good leader there who she looks up to, I just hope she give me a little bit more baby-time

    @mrsjyw: wow! so exciting!

    L's current developmental milestone disrupting her sleep is she will pull herself to a sit or stand in her crib while sleeping, then cry because she doesn't know how to lay back down.

    Lots of fun at 2 am!

    @kml636: ackk hope that phase passes fast!!

    so LO started signing! and possibly said her first word. she's been signing "all done" after she's done eating. at first i thought it was a fluke but her daycare teacher mentioned it as well! she also says "dah" when she's signing but i'm not sure if shes just making noise...

    @kml636: oh not fun... hope she figures it out soon!

    We are walking assisted holding onto the push toy or both of our hands. I've tried a few times to release one hand but he will stop walking and wait for you to grab his hand again. He tried to pull up on one of his toys yesterday and fell over with it. He didn't like that so I'm sure he won't try again for a couple more days. He is like me and is not a daredevil! Thank goodness. My DH is a daredevil and I just can't take two of them! LOL He has 3 teeth coming in on the top. So total of 5 now.

    I'm so anxious for C to walk! She's got the ability, but she just doesn't want to lol. She will stand independently if she's reaching for a toy or distracted, but as soon as she notices she sits right down.

    @DillonLion: E was doing that just a few days ago and now all of the sudden, she is standing up on her own without pulling up on something. So watch out....walking will happen FAST, I'm sure. I'm not ready!

    @SLR: My LO is walking and still can't get to standing (most of the time) without pulling up on something.

    @mrsjyw: woohoo, go A!!!!

    E started walking last week, but she still isn't steady. She will go maybe 10ft or so, but towards the end it's all wobbly like a drunken stagger. It's so cute though!

    @SLR: WOO GO E! yep same here! depending on his starting stance/balance, he'll go long but usually ends up wobbly and he falls on his butt but still so freaking adoarble and amazing!!!!!!!!

    @DillonLion: It is almost November and I am freaking. out. So much to do before her party and we're away this weekend - gah!

    Ellie is standing more and more for short bursts and has taken a few little steps here and there. It's coming!

    @DillonLion: Ahh good job girl!

    All these walkers! Oh man.

    Ellie is not walking but has taken a haldful of wobbly steps. She's getting more stable at standing, but I doubt that she will be reliably standing or walking at her first bday.

    @DillonLion: AHHHHHHHHH yay C!

    A is getting better and better at walking. It's so surreal when he grabs my one finger and we walk down the hall together... like where is my tiny curled up nb baby boy!?!?!

    @DillonLion: yay!! how exciting!

    my LO is cruising and walking with a walker, so we've got awhile to go

  33. turkeylurkey

    kiwi / 541 posts

    @kodybear: we are right there with you too! Cruising and using the walker. Finally using the walker! He wasn't wanting to use it at all. He wanted us to walk him around which is hard on the back!

    Ellie is taking some tentative steps here and there (3-4 wobbly ones until she crashes into us or the couch or the dog bed) so we're on our way to having a walker as well.

    Her newest development has been that her sign language has exploded over the last couple weeks. She was using 'all done' regularly for about a month or more, but has been using 'more' and 'eat' all the time these days. She also made up her own sign for 'nursing' which kind of breaks my heart as I've been trying to cut out our daytime sessions on the weekends when I am with her. With her new sign, it's totally not working. She literally makes a frowny face, uses her sign for 'nursing' and 'more' over and over and tugs at my shirt while saying 'Mama'. Saddest little thing ever in those moments. I guess we'll go a little slower with her transitioning to only WCM during the daytime on the weekends. She's there for daycare just fine - and even having DH give her the bottles and put her down for naps didn't work.
    Next up on the list that we've been using with her for signs are 'drink', 'stop', 'no', 'ball', 'kitty', 'diaper', 'please', and 'thank you'!

    Not sure where this belongs, but we have two molars that have come through! It's crazy. I think the other two are soon to follow as he constantly has his fingers in his mouth and is chomping on them.

  36. lindseykaye

    pear / 1992 posts

    @ChelseaRose: Ahh gah! Molars already? Was your LO an early teether in general? When we were at the 1 year well check my pediatrician said those were next for Ellora (she has all 8 front teeth now) but that they would come around 15 months.
    The good news was that she said they were generally easier than the front teeth. Hope that is the case for your little guy!

    @lindseykaye: wow on those signs!!! Sorry weaning is slow going

  38. ChelseaRose

    persimmon / 1161 posts

    @lindseykaye: He started getting teeth early (2 bottom teeth at 5.5 months), but on his first birthday he only had 7 teeth. The molars broke through before the 8th front tooth, which is just about through too.

    @lindseykaye: aww thats sad about her signing for nursing. i love that they can communicate with us better now, but it also can be sad. LO is starting to say muah for kiss. and so after i put her to bed, i can still hear her saying muah muah. soo sweet but sad! i just want to run in there and pick her back up!

    @ChelseaRose: ack molars!! we've been stuck at 6 teeth for months. i'm scared for molars!

    LO kind of stopped signing. she still signs 'more' every once in awhile, but she says 'more' now instead. she's also saying 'mmm' for milk and 'muah'. she says mama and dada but i'm pretty sure she doesn't know what those mean still.

    we're still walking with a walker but shes learning how to turn and is definitely alot faster both crawling and walking so i'm sure walking is in the near future.
