@Imabee: I think its just a generic brand from the local babyshop, it curves up into a nest thing with a zipper and fabric section at the bottom. the only bit I don't like is that it goes under your head and I prefer to use my own pillow. I need something between my knees because my hips are hurting like hell already

Thanks for the pillow recommendations, ladies! A friend of mine recommended the Snoogle but not sure what the differences are between them. I will need to look into it!
I've got another US coming up tomorrow since the doctor wanted to see me again before we left for a week-long cruise. This will be DH's first time with me, so looking forward to that! Hoping all looks well.

@Imabee: best of luck at your ultrasound, and enjoy your cruise
I'm absolutely cursing, I've come down with a cold AGAIN for the second time in this pregnancy. So snotty and phlegmy, I vomited 3 times just this morning from congestion. grrrrr!! DD is sick too, and its cold and rainy out there so cabin fever will be setting in very soon.

HB keeps eating my posts!
First appointment today. We still have the issue with our insurance but I am surprised they let me be seen anyway! I have a dating u/s and labs that need done within the next two weeks, but cannot schedule any of it yet until insurance gets figured out. So frustrating! I *think* DH made progress today though!
HR was 170-178. I told her the running joke is it's twins and she said she is only looking for one heart beat!

@anbanan15: Yay! I'm glad you finally had your appointment and heard the heartbeat! Good luck with figuring out insurance stuff. It's always so frustrating to deal with.

@littleredhairedgrl: Another boy!! So exciting!
@FannyMae: I've had a cold too! Or maybe allergies, I can't tell. Have you been taking anything?
persimmon / 1461 posts
@peaches1038: no I might just take some paracetamol if my headache doesn't ease off. I'd love to take a big packet of cold and flu tablets but its a big no-no I'm contemplating giving my mother in law a call to see if we can do a quick visit to get a break from home.

@Hoots: Thanks! It feels good to finally have some confirmation and hear the heartbeat.

@FannyMae: Ughh I know! I took a Zyrtec, which is allergy medicine. It was in my midwife's 'safe' list but I still feel guilty.

Hi, Everyone! Now that I'm 12 weeks along and feeling a little less nervous and sick, I thought I'd join the November party!
Location: Bay Area, CA
EDD: Nov. 14
How far along: 12 weeks
First child? 2nd. My son is 2.5.
First doctor appointment: I've had quite a few starting around week 6 due to hyperemesis. I had an ultrasound around weeks 6 and 9-- saw the heartbeat, but that's it so far! My next is scheduled on June 1.
Any symptoms so far? This pregnancy has been so much harder than my first. Constant nausea and vomiting, trips to the hospital for IV fluids, lost 10 pounds, etc. I'm starting to feel better, though. And now that I'm showing a tiny bit, I actually feel pregnant instead of like I've had food poisoning for two months!
Who have you told? Tons of people knew early because I had to miss work while I was sick.
Most of us will be in our second trimester before long! Hooray!!

@sometimesshesings: Welcome!! Terrible that you have hyperemesis (I think you might be the first poor soul in this group), hope it goes away for you as you start your 2nd trimester.

@sometimesshesings: Congrats! Your EDD is my birthday and my next appointment is also June 1st! Glad you are starting to feel better. Hope your HG continues to improve!

@sometimesshesings: Welcome! I'm glad that you're starting to feel a bit better and have joined in!

@FannyMae: I've basically been non-stop sick! Now I'm hacking like crazy which is leading to a lot of gagging, too. I also have no idea if I have late onset morning sickness or if I've been fighting a stomach bug, but the last four days have been full of nausea and tummy aches and feeling like vomiting every two seconds. A bunch of kids at school have been sick...So I just don't know.

@sometimesshesings: welcome!! Glad you are starting to feel better!

@sometimesshesings: Welcome! We are almost due date twins! I'm due 11/15! I hope you start feeling better soon!

@Miss Sarah: ughhh worst! the hacking is just disgusting, I've already been sick a few times this morning I need to get up and make breakfast as I'm on a empty tummy but the thought of it..... toast is giving me heartburn and its pretty much the only thing I feel I can stomach. my DD is coughng away and full of snots too

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone! I'm already feeling so much better, so I think I'll be able to avoid joining the long term HG club.
Did anyone miss drinking Cinco de Mayo margaritas today? My two-year-old had a tough day, so I would have welcomed one...
grape / 89 posts
@sometimesshesings: Yes, definitely missing the margaritas We're going on a cruise next week and I already know I will be missing all the tropical drinks. At least there will be plenty to eat!
My doctor did a second ultrasound before I left on the trip just to make sure everything looks okay. The little blob I saw last time is looking much more like a baby! They gave a link to view a video of the ultrasound online and I must have watched it 20 times already, haha. I am dying to find out if we're having a boy or a girl!
clementine / 912 posts
@Imabee: That is so cool that you can view the video!!! I want that. I know what you mean about it looking more like a baby. At my last US last week, I couldn't believe that I could see arm and leg buds and they were MOVING!!!
grape / 89 posts
@JennyG: Yes, I couldn't stop telling my husband how cute our baby looks now, haha! The video is a cool idea. They gave us a little brochure after the ultrasound with an access code and I could see it when I got home. It is kind of a fun thing to show our parents, even though at 10 weeks, there's not much action yet

@sometimesshesings: Welcome!! And YES - my work had a cinco de mayo party yesterday with margs and I didnt go up for it and had two people stop by and say oh yeah, I guess you're not fun anymore.
grape / 89 posts
@wrkbrk: Yes!! Virgin pina coladas and daiquiris sound pretty good too I am sure it will still be a lot of fun. We booked before I knew I was pregnant, so I hope the other couple we're going with won't be too disappointed to find out I won't be out partying all night with them!
pomelo / 5084 posts
@Imabee: Haha! No, it will still be fun! Sit outside with your delicious virgin drinks and eat all the buffet food!!!!!!!
nectarine / 2047 posts
@sometimesshesings: I definitely missed the margs yesterday! My BIL makes the best drinks and he texted me a pic last night. Oh well! Haha
@Imabee: I love the video idea! We have an US today at 12 weeks 3 days, so I'm hoping we see a lot more than last time!
nectarine / 2047 posts
We had our nuchal translucency test today at 12 weeks 3 days and everything looks great! We saw the heartbeat, bladder, kidneys and the brain hemispheres. We also heard the heartbeat for the first time! The little bug was moving all over the place and was sucking its thumb! So fun!
Has anyone else had the NT test done yet?
kiwi / 557 posts
@peaches1038: Beautiful pic! I had mine today as well. Baby is measuring right on target with a heart rate of 179. He/she would wave arms and legs like crazy but didn't want to move the head into a good position so they couldn't get a measurement. Bad news is I didn't get results but the good news is I get to see the baby again next week for a redo

@peaches1038: That's AWESOME! Congrats! Do you know if I get this test anyway even if I already did the genetic screen blood draw??
pomelo / 5084 posts
We got our updated call with my Panorama blood results and everything is all good. I am so relieved. The first sample I gave wasnt enough to do all the panels so while I knew the sex two weeks ago I didnt get the genetic info until this morning.
AND - our baby has a name! My last name will be his middle name and DW's last name will be his last name. First name has been chosen - Cooper!
We are excited about it. For me, I think it will be nice to call him by his name for the next 6 months before we meet him!
Anyone else have name ideas yet?
grapefruit / 4681 posts
@wrkbrk: yay for good results!!
I have a few girls names I like and one I really like, but I am getting hung up on a few things...DS and DD share a name with either DH or myself and I would like this baby to as well. If it's a girl my first doesn't really work as a middle I don't think so I guess we could use a variant of my middle (which is DD's and my moms)? Also my DD has a VERY unpopular first name (#6K almost #7K ranking last year). She will probably never encounter another of her name, so now I am over thinking if we can give this baby a popular girls name? Thinking it might cause issues if one can easily find personalized items and the other cannot (I always hated that growing up)?
DS's name is more popular so I wouldn't be thinking twice if it was a boy. I have no boy names I even sort of like and getting DH to agree on a name for either gender is nearly impossible!
ETA: I may be biased but I think DD's name is pretty epic, so I feel if we have another girl it needs to be equally as awesome. Oh and DS wants to name the baby Stella Gumball regardless of gender.
pomelo / 5084 posts
@anbanan15: Ha! Our dog's name is Stella - it IS a good name! Good luck to you guys - it sounds like there are a lot of factors that will go into this!!!!!!!!
grapefruit / 4681 posts
@wrkbrk: haha thanks. I think I am over thinking this to be honest. We only ever liked one boy and one girl name and we used those, so this is the first time I actually had to think about a name! Stella is my front runner already. We will not be going with Gumball though
nectarine / 2047 posts
@clover: Aww bummer you didn't get the results! I'm jealous you get to the your baby agin though!
@wrkbrk: Thanks! It was so exciting! The blood test covers all the same abnormalities (plus more!) as the NT test, so you probably don't need it. I'm glad your results came back normal! That's great! Cooper is so cute! We have names that we like that are family names. For a boy Henry (hank) and Eliza for a girl (Eli): we will see what we get!!
@anbanan15: Feel you on the name popularity. Henry is in the top 50, which I'm notnanfan of, but we looove it so that's what we are going with! Would you mind sharing your daughters name? I'm so curious!!
pomelo / 5084 posts
@peaches1038: Love your names! Henry was in our top 3 so I am biased towards that one!! Thanks for the info on the NT. Yay for healthy little babies! Do you find out sex in like a month??
nectarine / 2047 posts
@wrkbrk: Thanks! I love them too and can't wait to use one! I think we will find out at the anatomy scan around 20 weeks, which is 8 long weeks away!
pomelo / 5084 posts
@peaches1038: Ah, 8 more weeks! So long!! This is your first, right? Did I make that up? It's good either way
