Thank you for all the congrats! I'm excited to start getting the baby's room together now. So fun!

Also, I know it's suuuuuper early, but I swear I've been feeling flutters for the last several days. I didn't feel DS until 17 weeks so I'm not sure if I'm just going crazy. Has anyone else been feeling movement?

@jodyblair: Sometimes I feel like I am but it makes me feel crazy so I end up assuming it's just gas! I felt LO1 around 17 weeks too so I feel like it could be any day now though.

Congrats to everyone who knows sex so far! Do you all have your names all ready to go now? I have a friend who is 38 weeks right now and was texting her about how I don't feel pregnant at all which is a weird feeling and she just said enjoy the second trimester and forget your worries until you get to third!

I hope everyone feeling crappy can start enjoying it at some point, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Also, random question, this weekend I made a list of baby stuff we need and stuff I want. I have always wanted to do cloth diapers and I think we are going to give it a shot-hubby is on board too. Anyone else thought about that? Or has anyone done it before and have advice? I really like the look of applecheeks. Browsing online kept me busy while he was away for work.

@jodyblair: I'm 16 weeks and just over the past few days I've been feeling distinct movement, like small kicks and pops in there. My Ob said at my last Appt that you will feel them earlier with the second, and she was right!

@Mrs. Goose: no advice re cloth diapering, but lots on here have done it and seem to love it!

@jodyblair: Sometimes I think I feel something, but I can't REALLY tell. Which kinda scares me because I felt lo1 early, like close to this time (16 weeks I think.)

@Mrs. Goose: my current plan is to CD. This weekend, I pulled all of my baby stuff that I've accumulated over the past few years of TTC and my CD stash is 99% compete. I may have to get some premie covers of the twins come early.

Have any of you guys started your registry yet?

@bluestriped bee: I haven't yet. I want to know what I'm having first. I'll probably start at the end of May.

@Mrs. Pickle: Yeah, I think because my sister's are planning my baby shower for July, they've asked me to start thinking of guest lists and registry.

  13. 2littlepumpkins

    grapefruit / 4455 posts

@bluestriped bee: that's still plenty of time, especially if you have a stash of baby stuff already!

@Mrs. Goose: we're going to be doing disposables again but I think if I were cd'ing it'd be all in ones...simplicity! I googled applecheeks and I like that inserts can come right out in the wash. They look comfy too.

@Mrs. Goose: we cloth diaper my daughter and will use cloth with this one too. We used pre-folds and covers for newborn sizes, and a mix of pre-folds/covers and bumgenius freetime all in ones once she grew out of the newborn. I've tried a few that have inserts and require stuffing and I'm just too lazy to spend the time re-stuffing!

@Mrs. Goose: we have a list of names, but no front runners yet. I thought girls names would be easier but we are having trouble!!

@bluestriped bee: I am prob not having a real registry, since this is baby #2, I will just have a private one that I can get the completion discount on!

  16. BelugaBean

    pomegranate / 3516 posts

@Mrs. Goose: I actually do think we're settled on a name which makes it seem that much more real to refer to the baby by name!

@bluestriped bee: We're probably going to do the same thing as @hilsy85 and do a registry for the completion discount. I may do a Target registry of shampoo and diapers so people can use it as a reference too. I actually didn't have a shower last time for many reasons so I've been told DH's family is giving me a big shower, I just don't know what to register for since it's anther girl!

we are having a tough time with boy names! I feel like we have gone through every boy name that exists on the planet. At least we have awhile, but we just can't seem to find one we love 110%

@jodyblair: Totally feeling movement! I started feeling tiny flutters just after 14 week mark! My sister felt movement this early with her second. I can't remember when I felt my second but don't think it was this early!

@Mrs. Goose: We have used prefolds and covers through 2 little boys and have had no major issues. I highly recommend it, especially if you plan to have more than 1! We used them from newborn on. There are tons of users here in HB, read through the old posts and ask any questions you have about cloth diapering!

@Mrs. Goose: I think we're going to cloth diaper. My friend offered me her stash of BumGemius, which is awesome. There was a great blog post about newborn diapers recently. I'll see if I can find it.

We are 100% set on a girls name and about 90% set on a boy. I just need to know which one I'll get to use.

@Mrs. Goose: We have a bunch of names for each sex. The middle name isn't narrowed down yet, but we have 4 names of each so we could use one of the names as a middle name.

Dh and I just got back from our babymoon/5th anniversary trip. It was awesome. We had such a relaxing week. I've got my 16 week appointment Wednesday and of course I'm anxious about it. *sigh* I really don't know how to not worry. I'm hoping my dr uses the Doppler. Then Monday we're going to find out the sex!

Oh and I finally announced on social media! Next week I'm going to post a little about the adoption because I only said I was pregnant, but not how it happened. And I've been very open about my IF struggle so far.

@2littlepumpkins: I am just going to put the insert on top instead of stuffing because it says you can use them a few times and just change the insert, but that seems gross to me!

@shellio: I am exciting to do it and definitely wanted to start with our first to get maximum benefit!

@Mrs. Pickle: Lucky you getting some hand me downs from someone you know! Glad you had a nice getaway too. I loved hearing the heartbeat on the Doppler. My hubby recorded it at the midwife's suggestion and I am so glad he did. I apparently have a "hidey" baby, said the midwife, so even at 15 weeks she had a bit of trouble, but baby was just lounging as low as he/she could go. I am sure the doctor will use it and if not you can just ask! My midwife tried at 11 weeks because I was so anxious and was luckily able to find it for about 5 seconds which was enough to reassure me for a week or two. I think my anxiety about stuff will go down after the 20 week scan and once I can feel movement, so I understand! Plus, doctor appointments just cause a bit of. anxiety in general I feel.

@bluestriped bee: We have had the middle names for a while, both family-related names. It will be nice to put a name to the baby after 20 weeks to get us to the end.

@Mrs. Pickle: glad you had a good trip! I know what you mean about being nervous...I have an appt tomorrow and am anxious! I think it will be better once I can feel movement. I was told I have posterior placenta this time around, so it might be a bit longer...

Anyone brave enough to share names yet?? I will share that our top choices are Zoe, Maya, Claire, Fiona, and Kate.

  25. jodyblair

    kiwi / 611 posts

@hilsy85: Claire is our girl name! I hope we get to use it if we have a 3rd. We're about 99% sure that we're going to name this little boy Grant. I'm still not in love with the name, but I was never in love with DS's name either. And searching for names is exhausting...apparently I'm pretty picky!

Names on my boy's list: James, Keaton, Collin, Emmit

@hilsy85: I love the name Zoe. It's my moms dogs name so I could never use it myself but it's beautiful.

We have a few girl names we like (Eleanor, Stella, Lucia, isla) but no boy names. Sooooo it's probably a boy

@hilsy85: love all of those! Tough choice!
Our front runner is Callan, then Lincoln and Oliver. Still trying to get DH on board with Benjamin and Max.

@hilsy85: @bluestriped bee: @jodyblair: I LOVE Claire! My cousin named her baby that so its not an option for us but I find it such a sweet, classic name.

@jodyblair: I also am obsessed with Grant!!that is my sister's #1 boy name

If it's a boy, he will be Lachlan (a tribute to my maiden name). A girl will likely be Julia.

  30. 2littlepumpkins

    grapefruit / 4455 posts

@hilsy85: I think I may have already shared on your other thread but here goes anyway. Girl will likely be Cecilia, Julia, Maggie (or variation of) in that order. Boy will either be named after FIL or I think we liked Emmett when we talked about it. We both would have agreed to Nicholas but one of Dh's coworkers died last year, and his name was Nicholas and shared our last name, so it just doesn't seem right. I also like Gavin but I don't think Dh does, I'll have to see....

eta.. I love Maya and considered Zoe for dd. Dh nixed Zoe(y) and Maya is the name of a cousin so I decided against that one. You have a great selection though! Dh and I are also big fans of Fiona but it doesn't "match" us.. Good luck deciding!!

@NovBaby1112: I really, really like Callan but I keep thinking of NCIS LA and I'm not even sure that's the guy's name. (He's a good guy though, no negative association! I just can't get NCIS LA out of my head with that name and I don't even watch it. Something's surely wrong with me.

@hilsy85: My LO is Zoey and I still love her name.

This LO will be Coraline (Cora) Lily. We kept coming back to Cora and DH wanted a longer name for it to be a nickname for. Lily is for my aunt who passed away from lung cancer almost
two years ago. Her name was Susan, which means lily in Hebrew.

@bluestriped bee: I love Vera, DH just wasn't fully on board.

@NovBaby1112: Love Max and Benjamin would have been on the list if it wasn't DH's name!

@2littlepumpkins: hmm I've never seen that show! I'll have to google it now...our prob is we have such different taste, it's making it difficult to find one we both love a lot!

Love everyones girl name choices! Girls are so much easier to name I think!

@2littlepumpkins: I've never met one either but we love the name so much! I found myself comparing all other girl names to it so it
    seemed like the right choice!

I'm new! Better late than never? I've been following along a little bit but decided its time to jump in.

How far along? 13 weeks, 5 days
    First child? yes
First doctor appointment: Have had 5 so far.
Who have you told? Family, friends I've seen in person

@NovBaby1112: if you've never seen it then the reference probably shouldn't matter.. I doubt anyone's going to think like me! It's just that the show was where I happened to first hear the name so that's why I associate it. Love the name though! And I COMPLETELY agree about girls names being easier! That's probably why I'm open to FIL's name- I don't really have any others I love with our last name.
