I finally made a chiropractor appointment! They will be able to get me in on Wednesday, so hopefully this will mean an end to or improvement on my back pain and the adjustments will encourage A to turn.

Hi everyone~
How far along: 25w3d
Sex:
Current struggles: Found out that I'm anemic for the first time in my life! Making sure I'm consuming enough iron in my diet and also taking iron pill every morning. Hopefully I can stop taking the supplement soon because it's annoying having to wait 2 hours before eating anything with calcium! Also - dealing with this heat here on the east coast!
Recent victories: Passed my 1 hour glucose test last week! I was extremely nervous about the test because of my love of carbs and ice cream but super relieved to have passed. Btw - I just had to fast (no food or water) for 1 hour prior to the test and 1 hour during the test. I did it in the middle of the day so I had breakfast and a ton of water before I had to fast.
Do you feel like time is dragging or flying: Time felt like it was dragging during the first tri and flying during the second tri...
Next item on your to do list: Packing/moving (finally into a 2b2b apt! what is it like to live with an extra bathroom?? ), creating a baby registry, purchasing all the big items for our baby room
Looking forward to: Moving into our new apt and setting up our nursery!

@avivoca: Hope it helps! My coworker (due on Saturday) has been doing acupuncture for sciatica and it's been life-changing. Not the same thing, I know, but still. Fingers crossed you feel much better afterwards!

Getting anxious over here because I have a HORRIBLE headache today--I've just been bragging about how not cutting out caffeine this time has spared me the horrible second-trimester headaches I had with DD1...but now I'm afraid this won't be a one-time thing. Just trying to stay hydrated and hope for the best!

@mfa_lady: I did it last time and it really improved my quality of life in the later weeks, plus I think it's what helped me have such an easy delivery! But we'll see.

@avivoca: So awesome! I can't do a lot of chiropractic adjustments because of a spinal fusion surgery I had years ago, but I have my coworker's acupuncture person on speed dial in case I need her later on.

@mfa_lady: I've had a few really bad headache days randomly throughout this pregnancy. Hopefully it doesn't become a continuous thing again for you.

For anybody who is having leg cramping or swelling in their feet, I went in for a prenatal massage on Saturday with a table that had a cut-out for my belly (so nice to lay on my belly for an hour!). According to the massage therapist, the muscle cramps were due to fluid retention and she said she that the massage would "move" the fluid. I've actually felt great since the massage. No more cramping/soreness in my legs or swelling in my feet since. Wish I would have done this sooner!

@avivoca: Oh yeah! Hope you get some relief soon!
@mfa_lady: Acupuncture totally changed my life regarding headaches. Hope yours goes away soon ... or you get the acu to help you!
@whiskers: Thanks for the updated list!
@Shantuck: That sounds great! Glad you found some relief after the massage. I have a spa gift certificate that I keep forgetting to use ... partly because I just keep forgetting and partly because I'm not sure how long into pregnancy I can get massages. Do you know? I'm sure I can google it ... but
AFM, I met with my doula today for our first pre-natal visit and we walked through a draft birth plan. So great and informative and reassuring to start talking about the details of labor and birth... and I really, really like her!

@avivoca: I hope it helps! I keep meaning to book in, mostly for back/rib pain and because of baby's positioning. I really, really want her to turn.

So so happy! I know things could change at any second and she might well wiggle back into breech but very relieved today. Maybe all my exercises did pay off? I felt a weird bulge before my appt (like a butt out to my right) and that might have been her flipping.
I also somehow miraculously passed the long GTT test... so I am over the moon today.

@jaguar: Awesome. Hopefully this just means smooth sailing until October for you, now.
Anyone else get their glucose test results back? I don't know how long mine will take. With my first doctor with DD1 they just did a finger prick and got the number right then. Still don't understand why that isn't how they all do it.

Hi, hope everyone is doing well! This may be a dumb question -- but is it OK to keep the glucose drink chilled for longer than 24 hours? I took it home from my last appt and stuck it in the fridge -- then saw the instructions, which said to chill it for 24 hours prior. I can't imagine it would matter, but could it? With my luck, it'd affect the test. Anyone else done theirs yet?

@Paddington10: I never got to take mine home, but I imagine that it's probably okay that it sat in the fridge for that long.

@Paddington10: At the office they just keep them in the fridge for however long until they are used, I believe.

Today's doctor's appointment was good. Heartbeat was in the 140's, labs are great, glucose is great, I haven't gained any weight in 4 weeks (thanks diabetes) which puts me solidly at 10 pounds gained for this pregnancy. The best news is that A is now HEAD DOWN and let's pray that she stays this way!

@avivoca: All these babies got the right idea this week! So glad your girl is in the right position!

@mfa_lady: Me too! Though, she was not happy at all when the midwife started feeling around to see where she was and kicked me when she grabbed her head.

@Amorini: I'm pretty sure you are fine to get a massage at any point during pregnancy (though some caution against massages in the first trimester but that's irrelevant for you). Some places have you lie on your back or side so if you want a place with a belly cut out table, I'd call around.
@Paddington10: I can't imagine that chilling longer than 24 hours would change the composition of the drink but I'm no scientist.
Yay for all of those head down babies and successful glucose test results!

@Paddington10: My OB gave me the drink a month ahead of time and told me to keep it in the fridge until I had to drink it

@jaguar: Yay! That's great
@whiskers: I did my 1 hr GTT on Friday and got the results online on Monday afternoon (passed!). I'm completely with you on the weight gain, too... up about 21 lbs over here.

@Paddington10: They gave me the bottle at my last appt 2 weeks ago and my test isn't until August 5th- the nurse said to keep it in the fridge until then. You should be fine.

@whiskers: My OB only call if you fail, so I did mine last Tuesday, so I am guessing I passed??!
@jaguar: Wow, what great news! That picture is beautiful sweet baby face!
@Shantuck: A massage sounds AMAZING!

Checking in ladies. I have been slacking on keeping up with the thread.
I am 25 weeks 1 day today. My boys have been keeping me so busy lately. Well between my boys and this intense pain in my hip I haven't been as active as I like. I am hoping to play Pokemon go all weekend with my DH and boys. However if my hip keeps this up I won't be able to play. Next week I have very busy week.
Monday: recovery from the weekend out of town
Tuesday: E's speech therapy
Wednesday: MFM ultrasound
Thursday: out of town GI appointment for N (2 hour drive)
Friday: OB appointment plus glucose test
Saturday: chiro appointment (thank goodness)
Sunday: rest or Pokemon go.
Then my little E is having tubes placed August 2.
How is everyone doing? Any plans for the weekend?
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@MrsRcCar: busy lady!!! Good luck with the tubes. xxx
I have Georgia's speech therapy today, then lunch with my Mum ... Weekend is fairly quiet so far which I'm thankful for!

On the down side, I have woken up all stuffy and sore throat-ed, which means I think this winter has gifted me another bug. Boo! As long as baby is ok, I'll be fine.. but gotta say, I'd like my immune system back now please!

@MrsRcCar: good luck getting through it all!
@jaguar: Hope you feel better soon!
I'm basically dead today from working this morning. My legs are on fire from getting up and back down in the sand. I'm also starving no matter what I eat. I so wish it were Friday.
