I'm here (cautiously, after our loss in the fall), anyone want to join me??
Location: CT
EDD: 10/8
How far along: 4w5d
First child: Nope, I have a 3yo DS
First Appointment: Not scheduled yet
Any symptoms so far: Not really, which really makes me nervous.
Who have you told: Just DH! Holding off on telling anyone else for a while.

@petunia354: congrats! I'm also a cautiously optimistic joiner...
Location: Southeast
EDD: 10/1 based on one of the online calculators. Who knows!
How far along: 5w5d
First child: Yes!!!
First appointment: 2/15 we will have our first u/s. We did IVF so I'll be having some earlier scans than usual.
Any symptoms so far: Very mild ones until yesterday -- sore bbs, bloated, a bit more hungry and thirsty, a bit more emotional. Yesterday I had a very little bit of brown spotting, but I'm trying not to worry. I have increased CM but I'm on progesterone so...
Who have you told: Just DH and the HB IVF ladies! He, on the other hand, has told half his workplace...unlike my workplace, they all knew we were doing IVF. Family and friends are all far away so we are holding off until we feel more confident that the infertility journey is behind us. I will be 40 y.o. in two days so the AMA risks will probably make us not announce too soon.
I've had three betas so far and I'm having fun daydreaming what these high-ish numbers might mean:
16 dpo 550.5
18 dpo 1474
25 dpo 12279

First child? 1st child/4th pregnancy
First doctor appointment: I'm in "beta hell" right now... getting blood draws every two days. It causes me so much anxiety. First ultrasound will probably be in about two weeks.
Any symptoms so far? Car sickness. My breasts are starting to feel sore, but not too bad.
Who have you told? The whole family. We've had 3 losses, so this will be our last regardless of what happens. So we want everyone to enjoy this pregnancy and we'll need our family's support if something does happen again.

@Kitkat: @KrzyRiver: Welcome ladies!! Being a first time mom is so exciting (and nerve wracking)
@KrzyRiver: We had a loss back in the fall and I'm struggling with whether or not to share our news. I really hope this is your sticky baby!!
apricot / 276 posts
@petunia354: I struggled with it. I couldn't shake the feeling that telling people would jinx it. But I have to tell my boss because of the nature of my job, and I couldn't stand the thought of everyone at work knowing before my own parents. And the more I thought about it, the more I knew I needed their support.
My stepson found out on accident. I was starting to feel carsick like my last pregnancy and I told my husband when my son was nowhere around. Later when we were all in the car, I felt it coming on and I made a comment about how "the fun part was starting." But I didn't say that I didn't feel good. And my son just goes "So who can I tell?" We were shocked. Lol. So after that, we told the rest of the family.

@Kitkat: oh, yeah! I told my acupuncturist, too! She was right after DH. Congrats to you and your DH!
@KrzyRiver: Welcome! I think I recognize your handle from the TTC boards prior to my IVF days. I'm really sorry about your prior losses and now beta hell. You are a courageous lady! Really hoping this is a sticky bean for you!
apricot / 276 posts
@Amorini: Thanks! Beta hell isn't *too* bad this time around. I've been keeping myself busy so it's easier to not obsess. But I'm off to a good start this time. Beta was 156 on Monday and 460 yesterday.
apricot / 325 posts
@Amorini: haha...I actually told the acupuncturist before my husband! He was the last to know yesterday, just because I wanted to be able to tell him in person.
Congrats to you and your husband too!

@KrzyRiver: That's awesome! And more than doubling! Yay! Will you go back tomorrow?
apricot / 276 posts
@Amorini: They want me to go back saturday, but they didn' realize that the lab is closed on saturdays. So I'm waiting for them to call me back. But even if I go tomorrow, I won't get my results until Monday... so I hope the anxiety doesn't kick in! Lol.
@Kitkat: Lol! My husband has never been the first to know. It's usually my mother. Last time it was my niece just because she happened to be around when I took the test. Poor guy. Lol

@KrzyRiver: my mom's birthday is tomorrow and I would love to tell her on her birthday because she has been dying for grandchildren forever (I'm an only child, so it would be her first), but I feel like it's too early
apricot / 276 posts
@Kitkat: I don't think there's any such thing as "too early." I think whatever you're comfortable with is good. Last time I wanted to wait until about 10 weeks to tell my parents, but I ended up having to tell them at 6 because I needed my mother to come with me to my first ultrasound (hubby couldn't get off work). I'm so glad I told them, because going through my loss would have been awful without them. And I actually wish I had told them sooner, because then I would have had their support through those three weeks of beta hell too. Lol.
Long story short: tell whoever you want whenever you're ready. There is no perfect time. It sucks if you tell *everyone* too early just because there is a chance something could happen. And then you have to track them ALL down and tell them. But I think family and close friends are fine to tell as soon as you get those two pink lines.
Just my opinion though.

I'm straddling this board and the September one, but congratulations mamas! My due date is September 30 or October 1 but I will likely have an October baby.
apricot / 325 posts
@KrzyRiver: I tend to agree with you...I will likely tell her before 12 weeks, but right now it's kind of nice having it as a secret between DH and I. I also have a couple close girlfriends I will tell in the next couple of weeks...definitely need that support system should anything happen

@BUNBUN: Congrats! I live in the South, too! Looks like we'll both be super preggos during the long hot summer!
@KrzyRiver: How are you doing in your beta wait? I had my 3rd beta two days ago... felt less anxious for two days...then back to anxious today... but then m/s started today and that strangely makes me feel better.
@Kitkat: I was lurking on the TTC 6+ months board and saw you got your BFP just after starting acupuncture. How cool! I have been having acupuncture since starting IVF (basically September). I love it and will definitely continue until I have babe in arms. Oh and after!
apricot / 325 posts
@Amorini: yes! I started going sporadically in August/September more to help regulate my cycles, but then stopped. i started going weekly in January to a new acupuncturist that specializes in fertility, and BOOM, pregnant! I definitely plan to continue throughout my pregnancy and postpartum too...it's supposed to help with morning sickness, lactation, and postpartum depression.
apricot / 276 posts
@Amorini They had me go in again today. She said the on-call nurse would call tomorrow, but I've never gotten results on a Saturday before. So I don't expect a call until Monday. Ugh. My boobs are starting to get really sore so that made me feel better. Lol. How's the morning sickness treating you? Mine only crops up in the car. I spent like $20 on preggie pops today.
apricot / 276 posts
@Kitkat: Wow, I didn't know acupuncture helps with all that! I'm worried about postpartum depression because my mom had it really bad and I've had bad depression all my like just like her. Might have to look into that.
apricot / 276 posts
Well they proved me wrong. Lol. Got my results emailed to me on a Saturday. 856, up from 460 on Wednesday. I wasn't *too* happy with that. They tripled in 48 hours the first time, but didn't quite double in 48 hours this time. But the nurse said it looked good and it was a nice rise. So I panicked for a minute but I've calmed down since. Whatever's going to happen is going to happen.
persimmon / 1132 posts
@KrzyRiver: Glad you didn't have to wait all weekend! And strong results, too! I know you'd really like textbook results, but if the medical people are happy, then it must be well within the normal range. My m/s feeling is very minor. I just keep snacks and water around me at all times and that seems to do the trick for now. Yay for small signs that things are happening!
apricot / 430 posts
@KrzyRiver: @Kitkat: @Amorini: Thanks, ladies!
@Amorini: Lol! I *almost* considered delaying ttc until after the southern summer would be over...but it's pretty much always hot in Texas!
