@hilsy85: I'm going to my family doctor on Friday to confirm the pregnancy and she also wants to send me for an early ultrasound since my cycles are long and wonky. My first appointment with the midwife isn't until march 21st which feels so far.

Hey Girls! Our appointment went great this morning! I am measuring 6w3d and our EDD is Oct. 8! My cycles are long so I figured we'd be a little later than the online calculations I had done.
This appointment was with our RE, so it was pretty quick. They did an U/S and we got to see the baby, a very small little blob :o) We did get to see a heartbeat too, so that was pretty amazing and reassuring!
We have now graduated to my regular OB/GYN and go in next Thursday for the full-blown first appointment.
I am so excited to see all these new pregnancies!!! Woohoo ladies :o)

@CarrieLouWho: That's exciting that you got an U/S! So glad things are coming along nicely for you.
I had an appt with my OB today. He put me on progesterone b/c of my two MC's. He did a pelvic exam and went over basic health history. I also had blood drawn for the usual screenings. I have an U/S scheduled in 3 weeks on March 7th! And then I see my doc again in 6 weeks. I'm so excited for the U/S.

@CarrieLouWho: sounds like a great appointment!
i actually have an appt with an OB on Tuesday - I had it scheduled from before I was PG and they said I could still come in & talk next steps - I'm sort of hoping they take blood or something to confirm that things are moving along ok?!

bananas / 9357 posts
@hellobeeboston: I've been doing the same thing. I'm still POAS because I like to see the line getting darker and darker and showing up quicker.

@mrskc: oh good! yeah - those cheapie internet ones getting noticeably darker each day, makes me feel like i am definitely producing more HCG - I'll probably keep doing it because I have 20 left! (not as many as you)

Thanks!! I'm so excited to be here, but after a year of BFNs, it still doesn't seem real!
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
@Tidybee: we haven't been trying that long but I've peed on a lot of sticks in the last year and I was shocked to see anything other than a BFN too!
So I'm cramping, just mildly, and no bleeding at all, but it's still bugging me!!! Google says it's normal but I can't help but worry.
bananas / 9357 posts
@sslm: it's so hard not to worry. I had a nightmare last night that I went to the bathroom and there was bright red blood. It was so scary, but I'm glad it was only a dream.

hey all -- so i had had an OBGYN appt scheduled for today to check in & see why I wasn't getting pregnant - but, luckily I did -- so I went in, got to meet who could be my OB, had to wait a looong time, fill out a bunch of forms - I guess I was hoping I'd get some kind of - yes! you're officially pregnant (even though I know I am) or maybe get a super early doppler -- but no, she said it was too early. She said they don't like to get in there & "disrupt" things and cause any unnecessary bleeding this early - i get it
She did speak with me about next steps, and making sure I was eating well, pre-natals, etc ---- she also did all of my bloodwork today to get it over with (std tests, blood type, blood levels, etc etc -- SEVEN viles of blood!)... they also gave me a flu shot.
Anyway - next appointment is in 4 weeks - I'll be 10 weeks then. Seems like it will take FOREVER.... she said that would be a full OB exam, internal probably - and I think an ultrasound, right?
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
@hotpink: welcome and congrats!!!
So I haven't had any more cramping since Sunday also, I made my ultrasound appointment today!! I go on March 5th and I figure I'll be about 7.5 weeks so we should be able to see a heartbeat
bananas / 9357 posts
@hellobeeboston: Hopefully you'll get an ultrasound. They should be able to hear a heartbeat at 10 weeks and definitely see one w/ an U/S. I hope the next 4 weeks goes by quick for you.
bananas / 9357 posts
@hotpink: Welcome and congrats! Your due date is 1 day past mine! We'll be due date twins!
persimmon / 1408 posts
Hey Girls! Just wanted to drop in after my 2nd OB appointment! We had another ultrasound and we got to hear the heartbeat this time, not just see it! I'm measuring right on track. This Dr changed my due date from 10/8 to 10/6.
I will say, for you ladies that have your 1st ultrasounds coming up... it's soooooo invasive. I had already had one, so I was prepared, but today was a lot of prodding around and it was super uncomfortable.
Afterwards, we met with the Dr for a little for questions. Then I had another exam for her to do some cultures. Needless to say, my lady bits are feeling a little violated.
But, it feels real now! We've seen the pictures and heard the heartbeat! Can't wait to hear how ya'lls appointments go!

@CarrieLouWho: That's great news!! I'm guessing you had the vaginal ultrasound thingie, huh? I've heard it's not too comfortable...

@CarrieLouWho: So amazing you heard the heartbeat!! That must be such a great feeling.
How is everyone else doing? I hit 6 weeks today and I still don't have many symptoms other than some sore boobs, and tiredness. I'm sure the nausea will hit eventually!! I rescheduled my u/s so now I am going next Friday! Wohoo!
