@simplyfelicity: DH says that having a baby brings enough surprises, so he'd prefer to find out as much as possible in advance! So yeah, we'll find out in about 3 weeks (still waiting for them to call me back to change it).

Appointment went well. Heard the heartbeat quickly even though she was moving around a lot. As expected I am measuring ahead by a few weeks. When we go back next month, they will measure again and if I'm still ahead they will order a growth scan. I also gained way more weight then I'm comfortable with. So I'm feeling pretty bummed out today. I'm going to start exercising more. Midwife says it's nothing to stress over, but I just don't want to have gained too much weight by the time she gets here in December. I have a hard time losing weight to begin with.

But overall, the appointment went as expected and hearing the heartbeat is always reassuring!

@simplyfelicity: nope, I'm TG! (For now, at least, lol). DH wants to find out, but he'll keep it a secret.

@MaryM: I can't believe you get to find out so soon!

@HappyBluebird: if your dr doesn't seem concerned, don't stress out! I, glad they found the heartbeat so quickly. ❤

@Crystal: Moving right along to the NT! What did you decide about progesterone etc?

Well ladies, I had a scan Friday at 5w4d. My OB offered since that's around the time I usually m/c. With in 5sec of the ultrasound starting there were very visibly TWO perfect gestational sacs and yolk sacs! My doctor and his nurse kept waiting for me to freak out but I was oddly calm. I kept laughing and saying okay! My doctor warned that it is very early so there's always a chance 1 could slow down or stop growing but for now I'm twinning. I'm mostly shocked because it's taken us all this time to get/stay pregnant with one, and some how hub's sperm decided to get busy with BOTH eggs. I will just say that God's timing is so very perfect. I'm still nervous as the next few weeks approach; my fertility clinic is giving me a heartbeat scan next Friday, and my OB wants me back the Friday after that.

@Kelli_Deluxe: I decided to take the P every other day for a week so it will last me through 12 weeks. I feel really good about it right now, my body seems to be handling it fine.

    Twins?! That's awesome!

So, I had a lovely visit from my MIL yesterday. It's really the first time we've really talked since we told her I was pregnant June 1 (we don't talk often anyway...but everyone in DH's family was afraid to say anything and "jinx" the baby).

DH was at work but she came by for an hour after work.

she kindly started the visit by reminding me that God has a reason for everything, and sometimes that includes aborting babies (yes. She used that word). Later she told me about the baby she lost at 4 months (I've just hit 5)

I mean, I love the woman, but she can be SO inappropriate sometimes. Who thinks those kinds of comments are necessary or ok?? Is there not a general rule against talking to pregnant women about babies who've died?

@MaryM: Ugh, sorry about your mother in law! Sometimes people just don't know what to say! You'd think people wouldn't talk about stuff like that with pregnant ladies but I'm convinced seeing a pregnant lady causes people to act and say things they shouldn't!

@MaryM: That's crazy and so inappropriate! I'm sorry you have to deal with her.

AFM, I'm almost to 6 weeks, and still pregnant. Hooray!

I finally had my doctors appointment this afternoon and unlike the last few it was great. We did an ultrasound and everything looked perfect, they found the baby right away and it measured right On track with when I believe I ovulated. My doctor seams very optimistic, though he did say he wants to see me every two weeks for the rest of my pregnancy which feels like a lot.. Over all I'm thrilled and trying to imagine this baby being the one I get to meet!

@marym: crazzzyyy comments there! I hope you can put them out of your mind soon enough!

So DH was off last night and we finally got to talk about his mother's visit. She talked to him and said she was happy to get to stop by. I asked if she told him about the abortion comment and he just rolled his eyes. lol

and then he talked to his sister who I guess him mom told that although she loves me and all, I seem so withdrawn. Thankfully SIL stuck up for me and said something to the affect of "Have you met Mary? She's just not extroverted like we are"

Maybe if she didn't start conversations with dead babies and God causing "abortions" I wouldn't feel so introverted? lol

DH and I had a nice laugh about that last night.

@MaryM: wooooooow your MIL sounds like a real gem. Glad you and DH can laugh about it.
    @auggiefrog: yay for 6 w!
@Travelinmoon: so happy you had a great appointment!

As for me, 5w4d. Had some cramping last night which I know is in the realm of normal but kept thinking it meant something terrible. First OB appt next week, but they do not US in office and not sure it would give reassurance as our loss at 11w came after seeing HB at 10w. We will do Harmony or equivalent once we are at that point. Hoping the next weeks go quickly.

Started bleeding today at 5w6d. After talking to OB will wait for tomorrow and do blood work then, no sense waiting in ER for hours for US today that may or may not show anything since I'm so early anyway. But obviously worried beyond belief.

@mamabolt: the same thing happened to me and it turned out to be an SCH. Just to warn you, when we went the next day to check, it was still to early to see anything. We went back a week later and saw a healthy baby. Good luck.

I wish all of you continued good luck and success with your pregnancies. I hope to be able to join you again someday.

As for me, Friday I had a courtesy scan with my fertility doctor. I was scared there would only be one babe but both sweet peas are growing strong, and both had great heartbeats. Morning sickness has set in and I hate most foods; still taking it one day at a time! OB dating scan on Friday

No real update. Doc drew blood and will send me for US tomorrow if levels are high enough that we could see something. Otherwise repeat bloodwork Wednesday.

Just got back from OB... my cervix is "dynamic" and getting shorter and longer with contractions. I'm only 24 weeks... last pregnancy I went into early labor (cervix opened and funneling) at 23 weeks and lost my baby during childbirth. I don't know if this is happening again, but I'm just terrified. I go to high risk doc in an hour. Just needed to vent somewhere without worrying my family!

@LulaBee: I'm so sorry to hear this news. I hope high risk OB has a good plan to manage and you can keep your LO in for a long time yet.
