Wow our group has gotten so bug! I'm so excited for the September babies. Im totally jealous of those that got to find out the gender early. Our anatomy scan is s exiled for April 20th, so I am counting down the days! We are taking LO with us to the scan since she is so excited.

@Mrs. Oatmeal: I felt some movement over the weekend also. It's early but definitely possible with #2!

Hi Ladies! Going to jump in finally after occasionally skimming this thread! I finally made our announcement on FB and IG today, and how I've kept in from the hive this long, IDK?! Looks like I'll be keeping the running tab on Sept. babies in the blue zone!

    Location: So Cal
    EDD: September 25
How far along: 12 weeks. I have 2 different dates from the OB & u/s tech. But safely in the 12 week zone now.
First child? Nope! DD turned 2 a week ago.
First doctor appointment: Have had a couple already.
Any symptoms so far? Growth is a LOT bigger/faster this time around! Baby is already measuring a week big and a lot more amniotic fluid this time. And I'm pretty sure I can feel movement. I have had a lot of m/s at night/motn. Exhausted like my first pregnancy.
Who have you told? Everyone? lol. Posted on my social media today and told everyone at DD's bday party over the weekend. So glad I don't have to try and hide this obvious bump anymore!
[Adding] Gender: BOY! U/S tech pretty sure & immediately confirmed with blood test at 11 weeks & 5 days.

Excited to be joining this board, but I have to admit I am not every good at keeping up everyday and constant posting. Wishing everyone a great pregnancy!

@shopaholic: congratulations!!! How did you announce on social media? I'm thinking of announcing baby and his / her sex on Easter. My closer friends and family already know about the baby - I couldn't keep it a secret for very long!

Are you thinking of baby names? Has anyone decided yet? I have a list of about 7 names for each sex. I guess I'll narrow down the list when I know if I'm expecting a boy or girl. There are so many good names out there! It's hard to decide!

@ehh5000: We have been thinking about names! Since we found out so early it was a boy though, we kind of quit thinking about girl names. DH is soooo picky about names and vetoes everything and only likes traditional boy names. Nothing is set in stone with what we are picking but have narrowed it down to a couple. Matthew Christopher is a front runner right now...

@mrscobee: I love that name! I generally like traditional names, too. Matthew Christopher is a great name that would work for your son at all ages.

My husband doesn't suggest any names, he just rejects them haha

@ehh5000: Thanks!!! My husband doesn't suggest names either!! Just has strong opinions about the ones I suggest and then shoots them down! Luckily, I do like traditionalish names for boys too, so we haven't been at each other's throats too much!

@mrscobee: So funny! At least you came up with a great name that you both like!

@hellobeeboston: @Somebunny: @elljay: Thank you ladies! I think I haven't really been thinking about this pregnancy much, but now I've finally announced it it feels more real and exciting!

@ehh5000: DH had taken a photo of me and DD in Hawaii a couple weeks ago and she was touching my belly. We were surrounded by all these beautiful trees. I captioned it "Growing our family tree." And I had also taken a photo of DD on the beach where I wrote "Big Sis" in the sand.

I haven't posted the sex yet. I figured I could save that one for a little bit and post a boy outfit or boy shoes pic. I'm already starting to shop for him!

DH and I can never agree upon names so I'm sure there will be plenty of name posts so I can get some help. I *think* we've agreed on a name but I still have a little bit of hesitation on it. So we'll see. I might just turn into one of those "let's wait to meet him" people.

@ehh5000: We've been thinking about names a lot. I think We've got a pretty idea of what we'll use. It feels good to have that decided. It's such big decision! I don't want to mess it up, my kid will be stuck with what I choose forever!

@mrscobee: I like Matthew Christopher! Very classic.

@shopaholic: That is SUCH a cute way to announce your pregnancy! Aww I'm sure that your social network loved it I love discussing names so I'll look forward to your name posts! Maybe in a few weeks I'll come to HB for some naming help, too.

@Somebunny: So exciting to have a good idea for your baby's name! Are you going to share the name before your baby is born? I think that I might discuss my top contenders with my mom, sister, and mother in law, but I don't think I will share my final choice with them or the rest of the world until after my baby is born.

  16. Somebunny

    cherry / 231 posts

@ehh5000: I'm not sure if we'll share the name before the birth- still thinking about it. We waited until after with DD and it was a fun surprise. I discussed ideas with my sister, but not really with anyone else because I'm not interested in the negative opinions I'm sure to receive.

  17. mrscobee

    clementine / 903 posts

    @Somebunny: Thanks!!

Totally see what you are saying about negative opinions. We have shared our probable name b/c we couldn't hold it in and have gotten mostly positive reactions, but my husband's aunts didn't like it and proceeded to suggest an alternative name that we didn't like! It is funny, because if anything, I feel like our name is a little on the boring side, and although some may not like it, I think it is hard to hate it in the fact that it isn't that polarizing or anything, and they acted like they hated it! HA - still okay with our decision to talk about the name though, because I feel like someone will always have an opinion so I'm not going to worry! That would be a fun surprise though if you could hold it in!

We didn't share our son's name with anyone until he was born. I don't even think we told to doctors or nurses while in labor. Our son's name was uncommon, but not weird at all, and we were not interested in hearing any feedback about it. We didn't talk about names until the third trimester last time and we haven't even started thinking about them now either. I feel like it's too soon for us as I will be only 12 weeks tomorrow. We haven't purchased anything or made any changes to our home. I'm still so exhausted that doing anything more than just getting by on a daily basis seems like too much.

    Hi everybody,

sorry I've been MIA... I was feeling miserable. My penicillin reaction got worse instead of better, so I went to the ER saturday 3 weeks ago (where I got some antihistamines which did nothing) and then back to the doctor the following monday, where I was put on cortisone. The rash took soooooo long to clear up and it hurt so much! Unfortunately, my husband was send to work in the UK for a few weeks, so our last days together were no fun - he had to sleep on the couch because the nights were the worst for me.
But all is gone now, I am so relieved. the day before hubby left, we had the NT scan and bloodwork - his first time to see baby, he was so fascinated that you could see so many details! Everything came back normal, phew!
Afterwards, we told my inlaws (my parents knew already) and allowed them to leak the news. I told my girls, they were all so happy
and then I found kinda affordable flights and went to see hubby in London for a few days, so nice. We have lived there before and a lot of our friends are still there, it was so nice for me to meet them again. Now I am back in Germany, getting back into the flow. I miss hubby already terribly, and London too to be honest, but he will come back Easter!
Welcome to everybody I have missed, congrats to all the ones with great appointments and wow, already some genders? jealous!!!

    @plantains: Wow twins!!! Congrats!

@ehh5000: So exciting about the movement! I am about 16 weeks 5 days and think I felt one, but that was it. I have an anterior placenta, so I'm so jealous that I won't feel any more for probably a few weeks per my doc. Had an appointment yesterday and heard heartbeat and kicks on the doppler, but I can't feel the kicks I was hearing!

  35. ehh5000

    olive / 61 posts

@mrscobee: It must have been so fun to hear your little boy's heartbeat and kicks! I hope that your appointment went well otherwise. I'm jealous that you already know that you are having a boy! I have to wait another week and a half until my anatomy scan. My placenta is posterior, but I still wasn't really expecting to feel movement yet, given that this is my first baby. I was very excited

  36. mrscobee

    clementine / 903 posts

@ehh5000: Yes, the appointment did go well! It was just a quick check-up, but I did get some clarity on my brain situation. Will probably get one to two MRIs to appease my doc, but she and high-risk doc insist they are safe to baby... Trying to put them off as long as possible though. It just sucks, because I think the situation is really low risk, but since the lesion on my brain is rare, everyone is freaked out. Hopefully this pregnancy goes well though, and I won't have to deal with all this stress for future ones.

@ehh5000: So jealous that your anatomy scan is so soon!! A week and a half isn't too much longer to wait to find out! Are you having it at 18 weeks? I have mine scheduled a little late (for 21 weeks), so I feel like I still have forever to wait!!

  37. ehh5000

    olive / 61 posts

@mrscobee: I'm sorry to hear about the MRIs. Your doctors are likely just being overly cautious, but that probably adds unnecessary stress to your pregnancy. I'm glad that your appointment went well!

I am having my anatomy scan at 18 weeks, 1 day. Haha I'm so impatient! It probably would be better to wait another week or so, but I just can't help myself.

  38. mrscobee

    clementine / 903 posts

@ehh5000: Yes, being overly cautious for sure! Haha! I don't blame you for being impatient. I would have been too, but I wasn't paying that much attention when I scheduled it and didn't really know you could get it that soon at the time! It will be fun to see your little one! Even if you have to end up going back b/c they can't see everything, then you just get more chances to see him/her!

@plantains: congratulations on twins!! Exciting! @mrscobee: any movement I thought I felt early on is totally gone, so I'm impatiently waiting!

Can't believe you guys are having your anatomy scans so soon! My due date was bumped, so I'm 14+3 today. My ultrasound place won't schedule until 19 weeks, so I have to wait until the end of April! Seems like forever away!!
