@Adira: not nap, after bath. Kids are weird. Well at least he only has to wait a week till he is 3! R asks everyday if it her bday yet.

@Smurfette: I think Xander finally got it last night that it wasn't his birthday yet. He kept saying "I'm two! My birthday is soon!" hahaha

Hahaha, it is so funny what these kids come up with. B is all excited about his birthday too but it is another 1.5 months away! Luckily we have a vacation between now and his birthday that he is excited about! (He gets to fly and that kid loves traveling!).

@Corduroy: we had too many people RSVP yes and I'm freaking out! Almost everyone in his class said yes! What?!
@Adira: happy birthday Xander! You ARE 3 now!

L's birthday is the 14th but we are doing his party on the 5th because last year we had poor turn out as his birthday is over spring break. This year we have too many people! Yikes! We are doing a Fireman theme and the party is at a Fire Museum. I have all the plates and cups and stuff and the favors are going to be a lollipop with an etsy lolli-tag and a fancy firetruck cookie. My friend is a baker and she is making them. The place takes care of activities so we just need to get food. We're going to do pizza, chick FIL a fruit salad and juice/wAter. Plus cake.

Question- should I try to do "good" pizza from a local place or cheap pizza from papa johns or dominoes?

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

    @Pumuckl: @travellingbee: Ahhh! Thank you ladies!!! I can't believe he's three already!!!

@travellingbee: That sounds like a fun party! I'd go with the cheap pizza - people won't care! And I actually really like both Papa John's and Dominoes, so if I was a guest, I'd be happy with either option!

@Adira: Happy Birthday Xander! Are y'all doing anything fun?
@travellingbee: That sounds so fun!! I can't believe you have to worry about spring break already! I didn't even think about that for the future. Her bday is the 11th.
And I would totally go on the cheap with pizza!

I used my Cricut and cut vinyl so I put each kids initial on a water bottle. Then DH is going to put the last coat of spray paint on the wooden dowels, so I can put the ribbon on this weekend for the ribbon wands. I might throw in some goldfish packages. Trying to get it all done this weekend since we are busy next weekend.

She woke up this morning and came into our room and was so sad. She said she just wants to grow up and be big like us. Ha! Why that was her thought at 650 I do not know.

@Adira: Yes, Happy Birthday to Xander! I cannot believe these munchkins are turning 3!

@travellingbee: I love the firetruck theme! I think either pizza would be fine, as both are delicious! My husband is a foodie so I know we'd order the good pizza but we both love some Papa John's too. They're garlic dipping sauce- mmmm!

@Smurfette: You are so crafty! I hope you'll post pictures after the party!

I came up with an idea for Pete's birthday gift this week. Over my maternity leave, I've slowly been cleaning out our attic while pete's at school, so that we can turn it into a playroom one day. It's technically an attic but it has windows, a bathroom, carpeting... so it's almost like a finished space. I decided that my goal is to have it ready for his party on 3/20 and to surprise him with a new playroom! I ordered a daybed today and a canvas teepee off etsy. My mom is going to sew a bunch of fun colorful pillows for the daybed. Now I just have to finish clearing out all the junk and start bringing up toys! I'm so excited for it to be done!

@travellingbee: @Smurfette: Thanks! I mean, it was something that was going to happen anyway. But having his birthday as a deadline now puts a little fire under my butt to get it done!

@Smurfette: ah that is so sweet to say. B said today that he was a big boy now and not a baby anymore.

@travellingbee: cheap sounds good to me too.

@QueensBee: that is an amazing birthday present.

@Pumuckl: oh she says all the time I not a baby, I a big girl. But now she says she wants to be a grown up and big like us. Sorry kid you got a lot of time for that. I want you little!

@Smurfette: I wish. I had to do some chores today, so Xander's at daycare, but he got to bring in cupcakes and he was really excited to share them with his friends. Our family party is on Sunday though.

    @QueensBee: Thanks!

@Smurfette: Aww, poor R wants to grow up so quickly!!

@QueensBee: Oh my gosh, the attic playroom sounds awesome!!! Pete is going to be so excited!!

@QueensBee: That is an awesome gift! And how nice will it be to have a separate play area.

@travellingbee: Firetruck theme is going to be fun.

@Adira: How was Xanders birthday party? I saw a pic of his new bedding on IG, he must love that!

I took invites to daycare on Friday, we invited 8 kids.

@ALV91711: It went great! We had a little family party Friday night and had cupcakes and he opened his presents from us, which included some Thomas puzzles, his new Thomas bedding, and a couple new Thomas wooden trains. He was thrilled! He definitely loves his new bedding. He's going to be bummed when he pull it off next weekend to wash it and he has to use boring sheets again, haha. And then on Sunday we had our family party, which was fun. Xander ZOOMS through opening presents! My best friend got him this Thomas Take-and-Play toy and he LOVED it! He was all "Put Logan to bed so I can play with this!" LOL.

@Adira: Glad he had fun. Sounds like a great weekend.

Isaac had a blast this weekend. My SIL flew out for the weekend, we haven't seen her since Isaac was three months. All weekend it was auntie do this, auntie do that. Honestly is was kind of nice to just relax and watch them have fun!

@ALV91711: That's awesome! Glad Isaac took to your SIL well even though he hasn't seen her in a while. That's great!

@Adira: Sounds like it was a great day for him!

@ALV91711: Aunties are the best! Glad you both enjoyed her visit so much!

Pete has a very mild stomach virus this week. Basically, he acts fine and has a normal appetite, but when he has to poop, it comes OUT FAST and he can't make it to the potty in time. Today is his third day home from school but I'm hoping to send him back tomorrow. I'm thankful he has a mild strain of it because I know it's going around his school and could be a lot worse!

@QueensBee: Boo, stomach bugs are the worst!!! Hope he feels better soon!!

@QueensBee: oh no! Hope he feels better soon.

R is driving us crazy. She keeps waking up earlier and earlier and WILL NOT stay in her room til her clock turns green. We have tried no TV/ipad all day, promise of gummies, juice for breakfast, nothing. This morning I didn't even hear her, I rolled over and her face was right there just standing there. I really hope the time change next weekend will help. She is still on countdown till her bday. Mama I wanna be big like you on my bday.

  24. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: Oh geeze! That sounds hard!! Stories like this make me want to keep Xander in a crib forever. Hopefully after her birthday, she'll stop waking up so darn early!

  25. QueensBee

    pear / 1718 posts

@Smurfette: Yes, hope the time change or her birthday event will help her sleep in a bit longer! What time is she coming in and what time does her clock change to green?

  26. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@QueensBee: She was waking up around 645 and staying in her room till 7. Now she is up 5:30-630, rare 7 on days. We changed her clock to 630 to see if it would help. This morning she was in our room a little before 6. Yesterday it was 6:15. I don't mind it as much during the week but DH does. He used to be able to sleep till 7. The weekends are no fun. We just aren't morning people at all.

  27. ALV91711

    pomelo / 5621 posts

@QueensBee: I hope he's feeling better soon, poor little guy. Stomach bugs are awful.

@Smurfette: Early wake ups are no fun. That would be kind of scary to wake up to her standing right there. I'm so glad that Isaac still doesn't get out of his bed. Hopefully she goes back to her normal wake up time soon.

@QueensBee: I totally forgot the time changed so soon. Could be an interesting few days.

So far only one parent has rsvp'd for Isaac's birthday. I hope more than just one girl comes.

  28. QueensBee

    pear / 1718 posts

@Smurfette: A little before 6? Yikes, that is early! Pete comes into our room around 7:15am each morning, but he is able to sleep in with us a bit on the weekends. Was she exhausted today?

@ALV91711: Thanks! I think the stomach bug is gone but now he has a cold! When is the party? I hope you get a few more positive responses!

  29. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@ALV91711: I hope more kids can make it! Can you invite some more?
@QueensBee: Oh she is tired but it doesn't matter she just rallys and keeps going. It was 9 before she fell asleep and woke me up at 6:10.

  30. ALV91711

    pomelo / 5621 posts

@QueensBee: We're having the party on the 20th in the afternoon. Glad he is feeling better. Isaac has had a cold all week.

@Smurfette: One more said yes yesterday. I'm not going to invite more, we haven't heard from everyone yet, but even if two came plus his cousin they will have have.

Last night for the first time Isaac fell out of bed, he woke up screaming. It was kind of funny because I went in there to see what was wrong and I couldn't find him.

  31. QueensBee

    pear / 1718 posts

@ALV91711: Our party is the same date/time! We also have only had 2 RSVP yes, but I haven't heard from the other 4 guests. I agree, he'll have fun even with two friends there!

That's funny about him being MIA when you walked in! Does he still use a bumper?

  32. ALV91711

    pomelo / 5621 posts

@QueensBee: He doesn't have a bumper, his bed is a jeep so there is a bit of an edge and there is space between the mattress and the edge. He is still on his crib mattress, we haven't gotten around to getting a twin yet.

Today was awesome at gymnastics, it was a new session and he had the same coach as last time so she got Isaac to demonstrate everything all the kids. There were only a couple of the same kids from the last session there. I was so proud of him to go off and do everything without me, unlike the beginning when he wouldn't let go of me.

Well the birthday party on Saturday was a huge success. L and all of his friends had a great time! Today he had his three-year pediatrician appointment and everything was great. He is 3 feet 2 1/2 inches tall, and 34 pounds. He does unfortunately have another ear infection, although it isn't bothering him. This is our third year infection in the past four months, so we may well be headed back to putting another round of tubes in.

  34. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@travellingbee: Glad that he had a great birthday party! Sorry about the ear infection. I think R's tubes have fallen out and I scared we will have to go back too.

  35. ALV91711

    pomelo / 5621 posts

@travellingbee: That is good that he had fun! I hope he won't have to get tubes again. Sounds like he is growing good.

I'm not looking forward to the 3 year check up. Isaac always cries going to the doctor. I thought having a doctor kit and pretending would help but he is always telling his patients (myself & DH) to cry when he checks us.

  36. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@travellingbee: Glad the party was a success!! L is TALL! Or maybe my guy is short?? Xander's only about 2' 10" I think. Bummer about the ear infection.

@ALV91711: Aww, hopefully the appointment goes okay. Do you know if he's all set with vaccinations? Maybe if you can tell him he won't be getting any shots, that might help?

  37. travellingbee

    hostess / papaya / 10219 posts

@ALV91711: ha ha I just laughed out loud because L also tells us to cry when we play doctor! Silly kids.

  38. travellingbee

    hostess / papaya / 10219 posts

@Adira: he is fairly tall. He is like 80-something percentile for height.

  39. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@travellingbee: I think Xander is also pretty small, so comparing the two probably isn't fair!

  40. ALV91711

    pomelo / 5621 posts

@Adira: Yes, no more vaccinations until 4-5 years. They don't do vaccinations at the doctors here though, so it has nothing to do with that. He just freaks every time. Last year he started crying when his name was called to go back to the exam room.

@travellingbee: That's too funny, I'm glad we're not alone. He is going to be one tall guy. Are you and your DH tall?
