I just teared up at stiletto_mom's husband's reaction. My husband's reaction was much less....emotional. He said, "Uh oh...." and then asked "is pregnancy a pre-existing condition?" You would have thought he would have researched that before we (together) started TTC. (don't get me wrong, he loves our kid with everything in his body, he was just nervous)

3rd- bad... Very bad.. He's come around but it was very negative.. I cried for days.. Pregnancy unplanned.. We were preventing at the time

DS1 he was like, that's great, let's see how this goes (I had had a prior loss). DS2 he said "already? I told you I had super sperm!" Then with the recent losses, two he was in HOLY SH*% mode because they were unplanned.

1st pregnancy: I woke him up at 4:45 to tell him and then we just laid there silently. He asked me if I was okay, then proceeded to have a semi-crisis all day and told all his co-workers. We had been TTC.
2nd pregnancy: He was not happy, made me cry, and is still upset. We were not TTC and had an oops.

@avivoca: FWIW, once he saw the baby on US he warmed up.. And once he realized what an a$$ he was for getting mad about something out of my control...

He was thrilled. He also mentioned I had no self control jokingly (I was 10dpo). I was totally overwhelmed and was pacing our bedroom repeatedly asking if there was really a line there.

@BandDmommy: @avivoca: It always confuses me when husbands are mad about oops. If I remember correctly - both were PNP accidents? It's not like you secretly tossed out your birth control or something.

@BandDmommy: Thanks. He's already much better (wants to know if it's a he/she, excited for the appointment) but the timing was just terrible. He's not being mean to me anymore, he's just generally complaining/upset about all the things he won't be able to do now (vacation, lots of bike races, buy the new bike frame he wants). It's just...really hard.

Pregnancy 1: I wrapped the test with a onesie. He cried when he opened it. My beta came back low and I had a chemical pregnancy.
Pregnancy 2: I showed him the test and he was guarded. I don't think he even smiled. He got excited when my beta came back nice and high and then doubled. He was extremely excited once we had a good ultrasound.

Our RE had just scheduled our first IUI due to male factor, so my DH was *so* confused. He was totally unable to process what I was saying for a few minutes. After he finally got it, he was thrilled!

@LBee: exactly! I actually mentioned condoms to him but he was quite confident in himself... He obviously did not pay attention to the fact that it's possible for pre ejaculation sperm even if you pull out...

@LBee: Yeah...I'm not trying to point fingers or anything, but yes. I don't take birth control pills because they aren't good for my mental health and I'm allergic to most condoms (super fun, let me tell you). We successfully prevented for 2.5 years prior to TTC by charting and I was charting this time and TOLD HIM it was my fertile time.

If I remember correctly his first words were "they said not to test! Does it count if you test early?" We were going through IVF and my first beta was the next day. They said not to test early but it's not like I was going to listen!

1st pregnancy: thrilled! But it ended in miscarriage
2nd pregnancy: very happy but more guarded
3rd pregnancy: Excited but surprised! We both thought I was past my fertile window when we had unprotected sex (I should have ovulated 3 days earlier). But we both knew we would happily welcome an unexpected pregnancy (otherwise we would have been much more careful).

1st: excited and said "well I knew that's what would happen!" (It was the first month we ever had unprotected sex). He told the dogs to get jobs and said we needed a van 
2nd: happy and proud of his strong sperm... Lol 🙄 (Ended in MC)
3rd: happy again but a bit guarded since the loss. I said "I'm just going to pretend I'm not pregnant and not think about it until an ultrasound" and he said "good idea" and never brought it up. Poor guy was nervous. Our due date is absolutely horrible timing, but that's ok.

1st pregnancy- excited but both of us were like, whoa. We were ttc.
2nd pregnancy- sort of shocked but sort of like, yeah I knew that was going to happen. Like @avivoca: and @BandDmommy: we had been preventing but we knew we had had a PNP oops so it was possible. And he acknowledged t was on him at least. We were both really surprised it would happen after one time and took us both a while to warm up.

1st pregnancy- he was in disbelief and wouldn't accept the glass of sparkling cider I was trying to hand him in until he saw the pregnancy test. Then he was super excited. ETA: this one ended in MC.
2nd pregnancy- he was excited and had figured it out before I shared the news. His reaction was more subdued since he was in the middle of doing some work.

#1 - thankfully he knew I was testing because we were NTNP. So we looked at the test together and both kinda said WoW. Thankfully he gave me a big hug and we were both happy but scared.
#2 - We had two losses so by that point I dont even remember how I told him.
#3 - Laying in bed and he was pretty freaked out (so was I when I got the test, but I had some time for it to sink in before I told him).

#1: he wondered if I had tested too soon b/c we did infertility treatments. It was very early in the morning. Once we checked online for the pregnancy blood work results, he got really excited.
#2: disbelief and tears of joy. One of the best moments of my life.

We only have one and he was planned so my husband was very happy, in a little bit of disbelief for a few days. Ever since then anytime I said I think I'm ovulating or my period is later than expected he has been very negative so an announcement would not be purely happy now. I'm hoping he warms up to it in time.

He was happy though but referencing that we had just bought a house ( that morning) and $ was tight! I laughed about it and said you better do better next time!

He was very excited! We went to a 3 yr old birthday party right after at a friends and he had this HUGE grin on his face whenever he looked at me. I had to tell him to knock it off or people would guess! He told his bf immediately though, couldn't keep it quiet.

With the first I was so surprised (after 15+ months of ttc) that I yelled at him to look at the test. We were both so shocked!
With this one I tested super early because I was so sick already. I surprised DH by having DD wear a Big Sister shirt and hand him the positive test. He was like, "what?!?! Are you serious??" In a very happy way!

I handed him a fathers day card (it was June). It wasn't until he opened it and read fathers day inside that he said matter of factly. "You're Pregnant" We were very excited!

I woke him up at 7:30 am (he works overnights) to tell him - he was happy but super sleepy and out of it. When he woke up for the day his initial reaction was "are you sure?" because I had taken a test a few days before and it was negative! Once I showed him the 3 tests I had taken that morning that were all positive, he was very excited.

My husband's was subdued but very sweet. It was New Year's Day and I'd been avoiding testing because we were on our second Clomid cycle and I was pretty down about our chances. But it came up positive immediately and I went and showed it to him. He gave me the biggest smile and hug. We're still very tentative at 8 weeks, 5 days, because we had a prior very early loss.

I called him at work, from my work and have no recollection of the conversation!
The pregnancy was unexpected, and I found out by a call from the doctor when it showed up in bloodwork I was having done for something else. I was so shocked that I immediately called DH and told him. He was excited, once the shock wore off!

1st pregnancy: he was confused and excited. I was a wreck, as I had just been accepted into my program for school and knew I'd have to delay starting due to the pregnancy. We had gotten pregnant on our honeymoon.
2nd pregnancy: I sat down on the couch and pulled out what to expect book and pretended to read it. He was trying to play it off, but when I looked up he was all smiles and teary. This one was slightly more planned for.

1st - excited and hoping for a boy! We were TTC.
2nd - "oh really? That's exciting!" We weren't TTC, we'd just decided to hit pause so we were using pnp until we figured out what we really wanted to do. Neither of us were that surprised because pnp isn't that reliable, but if we'd felt strongly about avoiding, we would've taken additional precautions.

He was really surprised and it kind of took him a second for it to sink in but then he said some sweet things that I wish I could remember better! Along the lines of, "It will be fine. This is what we've always wanted! A little us." The phrase "a little us" is what he would always say when talking about a baby 
I was reeling a lot more than he was. I shouldn't have been so surprised but I really was and I freaked out! Wish I could go back and shake some sense into myself - love being a mom!
EDITED - I didn't read the whole thread and asked a dumb question
