I have a small close-knit department made up of women. When I was pregnant everyone knew early on because I told them! So I didn't have to lie about any appointments. I also have a TON of sick time that I used for my appointments and I scheduled my appointments for either early mornings or late afternoons instead of mid-day.

My boss understood that I had a lot of appts, since his wife had gone through all of it the year before I got pregnant. I would bring my lunch the day that I had the appts so that I could make up the time by working through lunch.

It seems like a lot, but they're so spaced out in the beginning and they only take about 15 min for the actual appt, so it doesn't take too much time out of the day.

My work is really understanding. They dont make me take time off for it. I just "make the time up" later.

I am lucky and my boss is very understanding. I try and schedule them all for first thing in the morning, so then I just come in later. Usually work through lunch then to make up some time. But my boss doesn't seem to care. I don't use my sick days, usually, so I figure it all evens outs.

They are just understanding! I try to schedule the appointments for after work but morning visits can't be avoided and I just make that my lunch break!

I also work in a very small department of only women. I came clean to my boss about a month or two after I started seeing an RE. The early morning blood work appointments were adding up + I didn't want her to worry that I had something seriously wrong. She ended up sharing her own TTC story with me + became one of my biggest supporters during my infertility journey. She's the only one at work that knows my good news right now + has no problem with my appointments, which are always first thing in the AM. I feel really lucky about that!

That's so weird - I was going to raise this very subject on here today!! We're very lucky here in the UK because our employers are legally obligated to give us paid time off for antenatal appointments - so no making up the time required! That said, two of my appointments in the next few weeks clash with important meetings I need to go to - I feel terrible constantly calling to rearrange appointments but I can't keep ducking out of important work stuff..... it's very difficult.

My manager is very understanding and I was upfront and honest about the appointments. It's nice to have the flexibility. I am able to 'makeup' the hours throughout the week when I have an appointment.

I haven't announced at work yet, but I just let my boss know I have a dr appt. I schedule mine for as late in the afternoon as possible, and I'll come into work a lil if I feel guilty. I normally work through lunch any way so I'm work 9 hour days instead of 8. I get my work done so the dr appts haven't been a hindrance on my productivity.

Before I announced, I just pretended like I was going to other docs--dermatologist, eye doc, etc. Luckily we have plenty of sick/personal time and it's not hard to take it.

I won't have to worry about this at all once I announce since my boss is super low key and flexible. But before I announce I'm more concerned about not raising suspicion about the pregnancy, so I'll have to come up with some kind of excuse for being gone. Luckily my next appt is at noon so that will be super easy, but the one after that is smack in the middle of the afternoon and will last 1.5-2 hours!

I did mine early, first appt of day as much as possible which still got me to work on time ... Otherwise I did as late in the day as I could and work was understanding

My midwives office was open on Tuesday evenings, so I always grabbed an evening appointment.. Love them! That meant I only missed work for ultrasounds and my 3 hour GD test, so it was much more managable.

My work was very flexible and understanding. Luckily my manager's wife was pregnant at the same time so he completely understood.

I scheduled everything near lunch so that I can skip lunch and go to the appointment. After the appointment, I would come back to work and eat at my desk. It worked out pretty well! I do the same with my kids' doc appointments!

thankfully there are appointments I can make in the evenings and weekends, like my ultra sounds and blood work. So I really only have to tell my boss about doctors appointments. I've had health issues in the past with tons of doctors appointments and so I guess it doesn't seem out of the ordinary for me.

I use flex time for any appointments I have to make during work time.

Hehe, I know, you really get to know the doctors and staff by the end!! You really get used to the process (get into the room, pee into the cup, weigh yourself). I'm lucky in that my OB's office is just a 10 min drive from my office, and the hospital is between my office and the OB! I would just schedule my appointments during lunch breaks or first thing in the morning (and come in late) or at the end of the day (and leave a little early).

I told my boss right away so he was aware why I would be missing days & why I was so pale/sick. I told my coworkers (3 others in my dept.) at around 8 weeks, although they had figured it out (2 having given birth in the last 2 years.) I figured they would know if I miscarried anyways so I could tell them. My boss was great about my appointments, I just made up my time when I needed to leave early/come in late.

i was able to schedule mine for when i got out of work. i only work until 3, so a 3:30 appointment was usually what i did. this time, i work from home 3 days a week so i could easily go during work and just make up time without anyone knowing. this is my 2nd pregnancy, and i don't think i'll be able to hid it as long this time, so everyone will know soon anyways.

I have a flexible work environment and schedule. And since I'm high risk I have way more than the normal amt of appts and luckily haven't had any issues with being able to work around my job.
