@LovelyPlum: thats so nice that your MIL is being great My mom lives across the country so during my pregnancy all I had was my MIL and she became my best friend! What did you buy for the nursery?! Your post made me super happy

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
I think I really turned a corner this week in terms of the fatigue! First week with students, so I was exhausted but I (tentatively crossing fingers) stopped needing naps to make it to a decent bedtime on Wednesday. It felt like such a coup!
We also went to look at some cribs. Daunting, but we found some we liked visually, so now just have compare I guess.
Other than that waiting impatiently for my u/s on Thursday. Hopefully the doc will give us the go ahead to tell people for real! I think we have a bunch of appts this week if I remember from the other thread. Yaaay!

@Dandelion: thanks
@luckypenny: thank you so much. I'm starting to feel really hopeful, and I think I like it! We bought the big ones of these: http://www.potterybarnkids.com/products/wire-hanging-globe/ I'm going to turn it into a mobile! And my MIL lives out of town, but she's so sweet. It makes me happy.
@nana87:
@HazelEyes: so glad you're feeling better! I've been slowly improving, too, though I hit a wall this afternoon. Hoping it continues on the up and up! That's so fun about the nursery. I really hope your u/s goes well this week.

@luckypenny: thanks! DH was the one who found it, and he is super excited about it. We're doing a travel theme on the "nursery", ie our bedroom wall where the crib will be, and it is perfect!
Did your weekend get better?

@LovelyPlum: so cute! Can't wait to see how it comes together

@Dandelion: Yea for being 10 weeks! And you get to go in to see him/her soon!
I finally hit 8 weeks this weekend.

@LovelyPlum: Thanks, you're right though, still not feeling 100% all the time, but I'll take the improvements! And I am so so happy that you are starting to gather baby stuff... is it getting real yet? Eek! I'm starting to go through the motions of prepping, because I'm a planner, but its still totally not real, haha
@Dandelion: woah, I never thought of that being a quarter of the way done! wow!

Hey everyone! I've lurked a bit on this board. I'm due 3/28, but as my doc continues to point out, there's a good chance I'll go into April, so I decided to officially introduce myself. This is baby #1 for us. I had two prior m/c's, but at 11w3d, it's starting to feel real. Can't wait until Friday to officially hit 12 weeks!
@LovelyPlum: glad to see you're still doing well :). Love the idea for the mobile!

@HazelEyes: I couldn't imagine looking at cribs now. I am scared enough to just look at the wall of baby stuff like pacifiers and bottles, lol. I did buy our first baby outfit. It's gender neutral, red, with a parrot on it, and I figured if we have a boy we can put pants on him, and if it is a girl we can pair it with a tutu or something.
I keep thinking I have all this time to crib shop and get stuff done, but honestly it is flying by. Like someone said, we are a quarter of the way done. What?!!

@futuremama: @Dandelion: and I straddle both boards too! Welcome
@megz06: It was way overwhelming, but we decided that we wanted to ease into it and just look at whats out there, get some ideas of what we like the style of, but definitely aren't ready to pull the trigger any time soon! It did make me really thankful that I"m we are not going to try and decide a crib, car seat and a stroller all at once, though.... yikes!
watermelon / 14206 posts
@futuremama: Yep, I'm on both boards, too, cause I'm due April 6, but my OB won't let me go past 39 weeks this time...so I'll most likely have a March baby!
@HazelEyes: Yeah, it's my way of staying positive, lol. 10 weeks went by fast, so another 10 won't be bad...and that's when I find out what I'm having! Whoot!

@Dandelion: hooray for 10 weeks!!!
@T.H.O.U.: woo hoo for 8 weeks!!
@futuremama: welcome
apricot / 335 posts
@HazelEyes: That's a good way of looking at it. I guess maybe I should start at least considering my options and what we want out of a crib, stroller, and car seat. I do know that we want one of those strollers you can attach the car seat in. But that's as far as I have researched.

Happy to report that Baby McD is looking GREAT! Had first appointment and u/s today. Due date of 4/24 confirmed. Measuring 7w 3d (1 day behind), heartbeat of 142 bpm. We didn't get to hear it, just see it, but I was already sobbing anyway! U/s also revealed a fibroid in my lower uterus, just something to watch for now.
I'm lucky enough to still get sick despite Zofran, so I'm supposed to focus on just staying hydrated and resting for now. I sure hope that levels off in a few eeks, ugh,
My BP seems to be consistenly elevated (130/85), so I'm starting on some meds just to be extra cautious. I'm not really happy about it, but the Dr wants me to take them and come back in 2 weeks to check. Weight wise, though I'm overweight to begin with, I've lost a pound already and will likely continue to lose-- she recommended that I not gain anything all, hopefully.
I feel a huge relief having seen the blob and heartbeat. DH and I are both over the moon. What a great day!

Are any of you ladies really thirsty? It's my biggest issue right now! I'm drinking fluids all day and still feel like I need more! Ahh!
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
@Dandelion: yes. I know I'm thirsty and I'm still not drinking enough. I bought a case of smart water 1L bottles to try to help.
grapefruit / 4582 posts
@babybeemcd: wait, she doesn't want you to gain any weight during 1st trimester or during ENTIRE pregnancy?
@Dandelion: not super thirsty but I feel like crap because I'm definitely not drinking enough water. I'm going to go buy myself a nice water bottle like a Camelback to help me remember to drink more

@luckypenny: I assumed she meant whole pregnancy, but maybe just first tri? I go back in 2 weeks, so I'll ask then.

@Dandelion: I'm not super thirsty but I don't think I am drinking enough some days. Like @luckypenny I may need to invest in a new water bottle
@babybeemcd sorry you are so sick. I'm very nauseous all day despite the Zofran. Here's hoping it levels off very soon. It is exhausting!

@luckypenny: @PEAPIE: thanks!
@Dandelion: 10 weeks!? Wow, this time is really going fast!
@T.H.O.U.: yay for 8
@HazelEyes: thanks! But I think I spoke too soon...nausea and fatigue have returned with a vengeance. I'm glad you're getting some relief! I'm super grateful for the little bit I had...even a few days out, it's hard to remember just how exhausting it is to be sick all the time!
@futuremama: I can't believe you're going to be 12 weeks...eekk!!! Thanks for popping in here. It's awesome to see you doing well and to get to have our third time's the charm babies together
@megz06: I've done a ton of research, but we haven't bought much. I still can't bring myself to go into a baby store (well, we did go into PBK, but I couldn't do BBB yet). Maybe when I hit 12 weeks?
@babybeemcd: congratulations on seeing the sweet little one! I'm so glad that everything looks great. I'm sorry you're sick-that's miserable. Hoping your BP and fibroid are resolved and don't cause any further problems.
@Dandelion: INSANELY thirsty. Like, if I don't get enough water, I feel so gross. But the flip side to that is that I have to pee all the time. Can't win!
@jhd: @babybeemcd: that makes 3 of us that still get sick despite Zofran. Hoping you both get some relief soon, too!

Question - Who here already has a LO? What # baby/pregnancy will this be for you? How far apart will this April baby be from your other childre?
I have one daughter from Aug '11. This is my third pregnancy though and hopefully second and last baby. They will be about 33 months apart.
watermelon / 14206 posts
@T.H.O.U.: 3rd pregnancy/2nd baby...and last. If this ends in a successful, live baby, I'm never going to be pregnant again.
This baby will be 6 years younger than DS.

@jhd: Ugh, thanks! Zofran is my best friend/worst enemy. I'm now stopped up on the other end and Colace isn't helping. Going to get some prunes tonight, but I feel like I'm in digestive purgatory-- puke and poop, or no puke and no poop, lol.

so does anyone remember from back on the July POAS thread how I asked for a bunch of advice when I was agonizing about whether we should try in July since it would mean missing a wedding that I'm a bridesmaid in next April, and then actually getting my bfp which definitely means missing the wedding? I broke the news to my friend today that I won't be at her wedding, and she has been nothing but sweet and supportive! it's such a relief! I'm so excited about this little bun in the oven but I was really anxious about telling her, even though I knew she would be understanding, so it just feels really liberating that she now knows and doesn't hate me, lol! She still wants me to be an honorary bridesmaid and is really excited for us. She did suggest that I name the baby after her though

@nana87: That is awesome. You know you have a good friend when they can be happy for you no matter what. We're going to be sharing our news soon with friends and I'm getting excited for it to be out there.
So I am 11 weeks and finally, slowly I feel like I'm coming out of the first tri terrible. I am not so much better (still nauseous, but less barfing) but improving instead of getting worse. I am so so happy and relieved about it. I don't think I quite realized what a terrible mental place I was in until I started to get some relief. This has been a loooong couple of months and I'm looking forward to this awesome second tri everyone talks about. Not too long now!

@T.H.O.U.: 2nd pregnancy/2nd baby
DD and LO #2 will be almost exactly 2 years apart! DDs due date was April 12 but didn't come until the 23rd. Hoping this babe is a few days early so they can have different months

@nana87: I'm glad your friend is so supportive!
@gilmoregirl: I'm glad you're starting to feel better!
It's still only Tuesday. Longest. Week. Ever.

@nana87: I'm so glad it went well! Yay for good friends
@gilmoregirl: sweet, sweet relief! That's great that you're feeling better. I am having days where I feel this, though the week has been a dip back into serious nausea-land, and it has kicked me back on my butt. Even having a week of relief, I think I forgot (or my brain blocked out) how exhausting it is to be sick all. the. time. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and I am so glad. It will be great not to need to eat carbs all the time! I can't believe an April mama is going to be out of the first tri so soon!!
@babybeemcd: I hear you on the Zofran being a friend and an enemy. It stops me up like crazy as well! Hoping not to need it soon.
As for me, 10 weeks today! It's an awesome thing. I can't believe how fast it's going. Well, both super fast and incredibly slow at the same time. But the last week went by really, really fast. I think it has something to do with being back in school, too...gives me something to do! Unfortunately, my body is celebrating 10 weeks by spotting So, there's that. Trying to remember that spotting can be normal, and that it will be Ok!

@Dandelion: Monday. If it keeps up, I may call, because they usually have a lot of openings on Thursday mornings. But I'm trying to just be calm.

@LovelyPlum: Hope all is well! Try not to stress. Can you take it easy?
