Thank you!! I'm excited to join, but too nervous to start the board myself.
Location: Minnesota
EDD: April 8
How far along: 5 Weeks
First child? Yes!
First doctor appointment: August 20th. These next two weeks are going to go by so slowly.... I'm so nervous something will go wrong/already has. I had a chemical last month, so that's probably what's making my anxiety even worse.
Any symptoms so far? Bloating but last week was worse.... Still very tired.
Who have you told? Just my husband. We'll wait at least until after we hear a heartbeat to tell anyone.

Who have you told? Just my husband.

@DriftAway: @MrsKRB: It will be interesting adding a new born into the mix with 2 year olds! DD bday is April 24, so theoretically she will just be turning 3 around when the baby is born.
It's also funny because even though I've done this before I feel as though I've forgotten everything. I think I'm going to bust out some of my old pregnancy books for a refresher

Cautiously joining in, congrats to all of you
Location: Virginia
EDD: April 10
How far along: 5 weeks
First child? second, my son will be two in about a week and a half.
First doctor appointment: August 30. We moved since my son was born and I'm super bummed I can't have the same OB.
Any symptoms so far? A little insomnia and some general intestinal distress (is that a symptom? ha) Also a bit of crampy feelings, that's making me a little nervous. I feel like I can't even remember this stuff from last time...
Who have you told? Husband.
And fun fact: We found out the week of my bday and I'm due the week of my husband's bday

I’m so excited so many people are joining, I was worried since HB has been a little quieter recently.
Yes, lots of 2 years olds! I am SO nervous, I feel like I have a good handle on her finally and I’m not sure how I will do with 2!
@Lahela017: I’ve been really anxious this pregnancy too

@MrsKRB: Thanks!
@MrsKRB @RockingHorse: Adding a baby in with a toddler makes me a little nervous, too - my son is as easy-going as a 2-year-old can be, but I just have no idea how he'll react to a new baby. Hopefully it'll be better than our dog reacted when he was born!

@DriftAway: my daughter is pretty easy too, so I’m pretty terrified that this one will be a nightmare

Anyone else feeling anxious for the first appointment? August 30 seems so far away!
nectarine / 2465 posts
@MrsSCB: I had an ultrasound earlier this week, but didn’t see a heartbeat yet so I’m super anxious. I’m also feeling relatively fine which doesn’t help! How are you feeling?
pomelo / 5257 posts
@MrsKRB: I’m also feeling pretty normal...I’m super tired, but I have a two year old so 🤷♀️ it makes me nervous, too, but with my son I didn’t have any symptoms until my belly started growing so I’m just hoping it’ll be the same!
nectarine / 2465 posts
@MrsSCB: same! I would say I’m tired, but more just lazy and I don’t want to do anything
Let’s keep this board active! How is everyone else doing??

@MrsKRB: @MrsSCB: The only symptom I really felt was that lovely ligament pain.... Until yesterday (4 weeks, 5 days). Yesterday I felt nauseous, my heartburn ramped up, and my boobs are starting to get sore. I have been pretty miserable the entire pregnancy in the past.
My appointment isn't until September 19! At about 9/10 weeks. I'm honestly getting super nervous and might see if she will see me sooner. I have had a miscarriage in the past, and tend to want to be in the MD office more rather than less.
When are you guys going to tell more people? We were going to wait, but if I have a miscarriage I will need support of my peeps anyways, so why wait?

Hi Everyone! I have my first appointment in a week, but I don't think they really do much of anything besides talk me through everything and get a medical history. I'm not sure when my first ultra sound is going to be, but it can't come soon enough. I'm still very nervous- and it doesn't help that I really haven't felt too many symptoms besides being tired. I guess I've been a be nauseous, but nothing too bad.
Does anyone have anything fun going on in the next month or so to help pass the time?
nectarine / 2465 posts
@rockinghorse: we will probably tell our parents if we see a heartbeat at our ultrasound on Thursday. I’m not really in a rush to tell anyone else, last time I was so excited but this time I’m feeling pretty private.
This morning I felt nauseous and dizzy, so I’ll take that as a good sign haha, and I think pregnancy hunger has started.
@Lahela017: they will prbe badly do blood work and maybe listen for the heartbeat depending on how far along you are, so that might be helpful!
My birthday is at the end of the month, and we are going to see Billy Joel next week, and Pearl Jam on Labor Day weekend!
kiwi / 583 posts
@MrsKRB: Yes, they will be doing blood work, but I don't think they are going to do anything else. I'll be 7 weeks at the time. The concerts sound super fun! I saw Billy Joel a couple years ago and he was amazing!! Such an awesome experience!
pomelo / 5257 posts
@rockinghorse: September 19 is a long wait! I hope they can get you in a little earlier if you want.
And I'm undecided about when to tell people... with my son, we waited to tell family until about 14 weeks. That was partly because we lived far away but had a visit planned for that time, and we wanted to tell in person. Now we live very close to my family. I'd still like to wait until after the 12-week appointment, but I think it'll be a lot harder because we see them often! I'm thinking they could already be suspicious because I've stopped ordering a drink at dinner (which I miss already haha) Though they would never say anything, they might just think it's possible.
@Lahela017: With my first I had an ultrasound earlier than seven weeks, so maybe they'll do one!
As for upcoming plans, we just moved so we're still slowly unpacking. I think getting rid of all the boxes will take probably the rest of the month--there's not much time to do it with both of us working. And it's my son's second bday on Friday, so we're just doing a small family party at our place on Saturday!
nectarine / 2465 posts
@Lahela017: couldn’t hurt to ask for an ultrasound to ease your worries! Oh awesome! I’m so excited, I’ve wanted to see billy Joel forever

7 weeks today! Heartbeat was 141 bbm, I guess this is actually happening! Still feel pretty good, just peeing more and get out of breath pretty easily.

@MrsKRB: woohoo! You are making want to call my ob to come in sooner for an ultrasound!

@MrsKRB: How exciting!! Yay!! You're making me want to get an ultrasound asap now...

Perks of having to do IVF, haha.
Any other second time moms feel like they skipped straight to looking like they’re 12 weeks pregnant? I’m running out of loose tops!

EDD: April 29. I am happy to see that the OB who delivered my first, who I did not like, left the practice.
How far along: 4 weeks
First child? No, third. I have a 5 year old and a 2.5 year old. My 2.5 year old is not easy right now, although at least my 5 year old is getting easier.
First doctor appointment: September 18
Any symptoms so far? Sore nipples, frequent urination, some light cramping. I feel like I have had a little bit of thirst, heat intolerance, aversions (to hot coffee) and nausea, but it is probably too early and in my head.
Who have you told? Just my husband. It is going to be hard to keep it from my children, but I know my 5 year old would tell everyone. I will not tell anyone else at least until I see a heartbeat, and I don't expect to see our families in person until at least then.

I had my first appointment today. It was pretty disappointing. All they did was run blood work and go through my medical history. I did get my first ultra sounds scheduled for next Monday though. Can't wait!
pomelo / 5257 posts
@MrsKRB: I’ve been so bloated, I’m worried people at work are going to get suspicious
@Lahela017: yay, Monday, so close!
@mdf106: hi, and congrats!

Cautiously dipping in here! Excited to join here! My husband says this is our final baby, haha.
Location: WA state
EDD: 4/15
How far along: 6 weeks
First child? Second. I have a 20-month-old son
First doctor appointment: 9/5
Any symptoms so far? My symptoms come and go which is a bit of an emotional roller coaster wondering if everything is all right. Sore boobs on and off, waking up in the middle of the night wide awake (I did this last time too, so odd), twingy feelings in my uterus, strong sense of smell, food weirdness on and off, and the most prolific thus far... crazy gas!
Who have you told? Two close friends and my husband and my entire immediate families (we had two family camping trips recently and I always drink at least a little on camping trips, so I decided to share when I declined drinks.)

@Plainpistachio: welcome!
Feeling queasy during the day these past few days, not nauseous just “off”.” Also I get super light headed if I move too quickly. I have my 8 week scam tomorrow and then seeing Billy Joel!
cherry / 116 posts
@MrsKRB: Thanks! I thought at first read that you were getting your 8 week scan and that you were lovingly calling him/her Billy Joel. Now I think you should.

I have been having some on and off nausea and aversions, even though it seems too early (started at 4+1). It is cake day, and the thought of cake makes me want to gag.
I am also moody, I got unreasonably upset about a minor work issue today.
